Avatar m tn my name is justin and i need help. About 6 months ago i started going to a doctor in Houston for back pain. I am prescribed 180 O.C. 80mg a month. Thats 6 a day. I can not get off and about 2 months ago I started shooting them. I called a rehab yesterday and made a appointment, went in and was told they could not help me because i was not abusing them. If 6 80s a day is not abuse i don't know what is. There is hardly a doctor in the world that will wright 180 and 180.
Avatar f tn Now that my arthrits is properly treated,i did not need them, and stopped with Clonidine,by myself..But the Clonidine is not working like it used to be,and I cannot sleep because of the night sweats.summer is coming, and it will be harder with the hot weather. No kidding, but sometimes I fell worst than when tapering opioids.Wish I had taken more time, and stopped very slow without clonidine..i have the 0.1 and 0.2 ones. They are cheap, and i can buy how many I want..but want my life and sleep back..

The answer is not going to change. At 15 mgs, a small amount compared to most, you can jump off safely. We cannot tell you how much Clonidine to take..

349859 tn?1257790973 Does clonidine really help with easing some of the yucky wd feelings??
880900 tn?1467270141 WIkipedia says clonidine is good for reducing sweats and general "unease", but the patient must withdraw carefully from it too, in order to avoid rebound hypertension. Has anyone had experience with this? Did you experience the rebound hypertension after using clonidine? I'm considering asking my doctor for this drug because I'm still experiencing w/d symptoms after 2 weeks w/d. I've not slept for four days, too. Thanks for your help.
Avatar f tn How long do you normally take clonidine for withdrawal symptoms from Oxycontin and Percocet?
Avatar f tn After only a day or so without snorting some he goes into horrible withdrawls (shaking, cant sleep, sweating, very ill, etc.) everytime he stops completely. I heard that clonidine can help reduce the worst affects of withdrawls but was unsure about possible addiction to that or side effects. I head that low blood pressure could be a major isse since clonidine is primarily a blood pressure medication. The last thing he wants is another cycle of replacing an addiction with a new addiction.

Avatar m tn I would stay on the clonidine. My doctor said to stay on it at .1mg three times a day for the first two weeks after you taper to a new level, or quit. Then go down to .1mg twice per day for a week, then .1mg once per day for a week and then quit. The directions that come with it say you shouldn't stop it abruptly, and my doctor and pharmacist told me the same thing. Otherwise, your body goes the opposite direction and causes higher blood pressure and symptoms you are describing.
Avatar m tn I thought I could just handle a small peice of a roxy 30 and it turned into a 3 week run. Im only doing 2 a day but am scared to detox again. I have clonidine and subs and dont know which way to go. I have 3 subs that will last me 6 days. .

Avatar m tn As most of you know I am coming off long term opiate abuse. 3 years pain pills, 10 years metodone 120mg, and 6 months suboxone. Came off 120 mg back in feb and 50 days clean off subs. I have read that one of the last systems to leave is the tingling. I just wonder if there is some sort of pinched nerve maybe in my neck. I dont have pain or numbness just tingling. Wonder if it is my brain still trying to recover.
1128565 tn?1316721143 Hi lorrane, welcome to the forum. Clonidine is typically prescribed for blodd pressure and also for help with opiate withdrawal. It is an alpha adrenal blocker, so for opiate withdrawal, it helps ease the symptoms of withdrawal and the feeling of jumping out of your skin. As for withdrawal from an antidrepressant, I am not sure how it would work, but it is prescribed for withdrawal. It can also make you sleepy as part of the side effects, so that is what you are feeling there.
Avatar f tn The clonidine helps more than anything and that's an appropriate dose. Do you still have Hydrocodone available to you? You need to get rid of it if you do. What do you plan to do differently this time?
4605616 tn?1362003158 It helps with sleep, anxiety and jitters. Just be very careful because it is very addictive.

Avatar f tn The FDA produced a version of the Oxycontin pill that helped prevent abuse by making the pill extremely difficult to grind into powder form, to be snorted or otherwise. It seems the3 FDA has done the same thing with the Opana. I am looking for any and all information that can offered. thank you.
Avatar f tn august 1st i am booked into a detox facility from opiate abuse and the nurse told me on the phone to make sure i bring a detox kit from the walk in clinic i was wondering what that consists of and what should i say to the doctor seems weird to me but i am willing to do anything i can to get off these meds i currently taking a very large dose of percocett everyday and it is ruining my life and when i put my mind to something i kno i can beat this!!
722310 tn?1234762137 My dr. put me on clonidine 0.1 2x/day and zanaflex .4 (2) 3x/day. I have been on this plan for about 7 weeks. I was on tramadol for 2 years. I have fibromyalgia. I am in incredible pain throughout my entire body. I have terrible restless leg. I am sleeping about 3 hours a night, due to the pain load. I am desperately trying to cut back on the clonidine and zanaflex and I am experiencing terrible w/d symptoms. (heart racing, anxiety, sweating, pain, nausea, etc.
Avatar n tn When you get everything in order maximum one year I would start an outpatient detox to taper off the suboxone via a few non addictive medications like Clonidine and Serquel. I did a 6 week taper from 16MG per day with Clonidine and Serquel and the withdrawals were mild. I jumped off from .5MG. I would not stay on Suboxone for years because I would think the withdrawal is more difficult. Your goal is to be drug free and opiate free.
Avatar f tn I have 3 small beautiful children, and feel like a mother to them again, a proper mother. 15 yrs of heroin abuse and 21 mths of presc. subutex, all finished and done with forever. You can do it people I believe in all of you. Bottom line, time heals all. I was on 32mg a day of subutex and my detox off subutex only took 15 days for me to be me again. I reduced my dose after 17 mths of 32mg daily. 5 mths of tapering to .08mg then stopped.
795648 tn?1237252599 I cannot believe how well the day went, this is my second day off the pills and with the help of Clonidine, I am going strong! I really believe my job had alot to do with it, I care for animals and my mind is always active at work, diagnosing and treating little critters! No time to sit and ponder...that is HUGE for me!! Idle hands..Ya know? Anyway, I was told to post at least once a day and I'm up to twice so far, forgive me but it helps to talk about it! Thanks to all!
Avatar f tn feel much more relaxed, I also have clonidine but Im saving that for bedtime, I also kinda fear taking the clonodine, as I already have such low blood pressure, but the doctor told me that this is ok, what I really must check is my pulse, if its lower then 50 beats per minute I shouldnt take it, other wise its ok.
