I also got a bad reaction to Clindamycin a feeling of big lump in throat, sore throat and severe heartburn. In spite of the fact that I drank at least 10ounces of water with each pill.
My question is since I'm allergic to penicillin. What antibiotic is effective for teeth and gum infections????

When I took clindamycin I had the most horrendous heartburn and burning sensation in my throat and chest to where swallowing was painfull. I thought the pills were getting stuck so I cut them before taking. It still didnt help right along with drinking liters of water didnt help. The burning made me convinced I had gerd, which Id never had before. I got tired of the vomiting & had my doc switch me to a different antibiotic. -never again!!!
Loss of apetite,
dehydration.
Increased bilrubin of 1.3 mg/dl
SGOT/SGPT is normal with 24/15
Pain in bones,which has aggravated due to this
Itching on the face
Should I continue taking the above medications? If yes,what should be the dosage?
One more question.....Scars are seen on the face due to the use of scalpel for removing the pimples and subsequent use of an anti-inflammatory/anti-biotic injection by a doctor...What should be done to make my face even.......
I had many side effects. Headaches, severe heartburn accompanied with hiccups. Blisters and discoloration all over my tongue and back of my throat. By day 6 my feet and ankles were badly swollen and it was getting difficult to swallow. My doc said I was having a systemic reaction and to quit immediately. We are going to try Subutex now and I hope it works.
On all the info I found, the only side effect I had that was listed was headache.
I started taking Pradaxa less thatn a montha ago and am taking the same dosage and noticed the same heartburn and was prescribed Nexium for it. That is one of the side effects. I really did not experience the fatigue but I do have hip pain but I think that is due to skipping the gym for a couple of weeks. I'd call the Doc and let them know what is up.
Also, the infection has been treated with numerous antibiotics (amoxicillin, flagyl, omnicef, augmentin, clindamycin), and all seem to help at first, but only clindamycin has lasting effects. Not even augmentin worked. Any idea on what kind of bacteria would respond to clindamycin but not augmentin?
has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects.
HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.
Hi Everyone, I am on week two of the 12 week GS-7977 and ribavirin. I wondered if anyone has side effects from this. My nurse told me none of her patients have, but I don't feel well. Nothing I can't handle, I was just surprised. I am genotype 2. I have a headache all of the time, body aches, and I am very tired. I also am having a lot of heartburn. Any info would be great. went to the dentist and he said the infection had gone into my tissue. He put me on Clindamycin on wed.. the lump is still there and the pain had subsided until today. The pain is now really bad. How long does it take for the antibotics to work? have an appt. to have tooth pulled out on the 14th. How long should I give the lump to go down before going to ER for Iv antibiotics?

My side effects were:
racing heart - I lost about 5 lbs in 3 days.
skin sensitive to the touch.
feeling like I was beat up with a baseball bat on my back.
shaking.
and feeling like my achilles tendon was going to rip off.

Endodonist said there was pus -- infection. I have had allergic reaction to Levaquin and AzitheraI and have had side effects diarrhea and lightheaded from Cefdinir and Cephalexin so he prescribed Cipro 500mg. Said he doesn't usually prescribe but given that it have taken Cipro 250mg in the past (or urinary tract infection with no side effects. Is Cipro as effective as other antibiotics for dental infection?
I have been prescribed Clindamycin to clear up a possible tooth infection. I was wondering if anyone has had any heart rhythm problems attributed to antibiotics. I have pvcs/pacs, all tests, ekg, echo has come back completely normal. Im just worried about taking a new medication,, afraid it may cause the palpitations to be worse, better yet cause a dangerous arrythmia!! Any advice would be great!!
