I saw a doctor recently who said it was definitely herpes, and suggested that an antibiotic cream might be useful. I've started using 'Vitara Clinda-gel' ((clindamycin phosphate) on the spot on my penis. Is this safe? I'm wondering whether these spots could be caused by sweat - I'm living in Thailand, and get more acne than usual all over my body :( Also, I try to avoid washing my genitals with soap as I get dry skin there, and I've wondered whether this could be causing acne down there.

I was doing okay, just a few real minor breakouts every now and then using neutrogena facial bar and some clindamycin phosphate gel, but then I started using a Benzoyl peroxide cleanser and began to break out like crazy, worse than ever before in my life. As well as the face wash he will be able to prescribe you a topical gel such as Dalacin-T or Duac. These are much better than the acne gels you can buy in stores. He may also give you some oral antibiotics to clear your acne. Have you started your periods yet?

I have 2 acne medications, Erythromycin Benzoyl Peroxide Topical gel and clindamycin Phosphate gel USP 1%. Is it ok to use the Erythromycin Benzoyl and then the clindamycin right after, or what? One of the products must be prescribed by a dermatologist, it is clindamycin Phosphate Topical Solution 1% (otherwise known as clindamycin). This is an alcohol-based, roll-on agent, either antibacterial or antibiotic, I'm not sure. It is quite mild, though. The other product you will find in some drugstores (over by the face soaps and acne stuff), but not all drugstores carry it. ULTA beauty store carries it.

I saw a second dermatologist 3 months ago *because about 3 weeks before I was going to get married I got another lesions on my cheek that just wouldn't heal), this new dermatologist said he thinks it is simply adult acne, and prescribed Sulfacetamide Sodium-Sulfur Wash and clindamycin phosphate gel. That treatment of washing and using that gel did no better than using the bactorban in clearing the lesion up-still had it 3 weeks later for my wedding day.

The only thing that worked for me is Baby Shampoo every other day, plus clindamycin Phosphate Topical Solution 2 or 3 times per week.

Three of them that I'm on apparently are bad for kidney stone formation and other stuff, HydrochloroTHIAZIDE, Metoprolol and Spironolactone. I'm also on Advair, Amlodipine Besaylate, clindamycin Phosphate, Tretinoin gel, Noritate, Benzol Peroxide, Wellbutrin XL, and Cymbalta. I have asthma, allergies, high blood pressure, Seasonal Affective Disorder, and Atophic Dermatitist.
