1364054 tn?1346005167 My cycles are irregular, but I visited gynaecologist and she said everything is ok. My dermatologist gave me for therapy Sona gel by night, during the day Klindamicin gel/ 3 weeks and then neutral creams, Hiramycin caps a 100mg 2x1/7days, then 1x1/2weeks, and UV protection. What do You think about it? My problem started when I heard that Klindamicin gel canĀ“t be bought in my country. Do You know any good replacement for that medication? If not can I use only Sona gel and pills?

Avatar f tn If the acne persist then you may need topical antibiotics like Clindamycin cream for which you should consult a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn Can anyone recommend an acne treatment for those cystic acne bumps that take forever to go away? I'm 46 and did Accutane in my 20s with pretty good results until the last several years. I've had the most success with Pro Active, but my skin got really itchy when I wore mineral powder makeup and I kept ruining towels, pillowcases and shirts. I've also tried Acne Free, Murad and Dermatologic plus prescription cream with no luck.
Avatar n tn For the first few weeks after stopping use of the Duac gel, you will probably experience a moderate breakout. However, this should not discourage you. The Duac treatment is a combination of clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide; these chemicals work to manage the bacteria on your skin, killing it and allowing for a healthier, cleaner complexion. Any anti-bacterial medicine becomes ineffective after a while, as bacteria evolves and then resists the compounds originally intended to relinquish it.
Avatar n tn I have acne all over my face and have had it for a while. Just when it looked like it was clearing up it got worse.
Avatar f tn Niacinamide In a double-blind trial, 76 individuals with moderately severe acne were treated with either 4% niacinamide gel or 1% clindamycin gel (a standard antibiotic treatment). Niacinamide proved to be just as effective as the antibiotic over an 8-week trial period. However, because this study lacked a placebo group, its results are unreliable. Other Treatments for Acne Ayurvedic medicine has shown some promise for acne.
Avatar f tn Avoid picking or pressing the acne. You can also use Benzoyl peroxide 5% lotion or gel or clindamycin cream once at bedtime. An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face. If your skin becomes red or peels, you are using too much of the medicine or applying it too often. Engage in a diet that is low in sugar and fat but is rich in vitamins. This prevents acne by preventing the buildup of excess oil on the skin. Also refrain from touching or squeezing your acne.
Avatar n tn doc suggested me to use faceclin gel(clindamycin and nicotinamide) and cetaphil face wash.but rashes came out.even i am allergic to neutrogena products and sulpher compositions.my skin is loosing glow.pls suggest.
Avatar f tn to add, I was also using a prescribed acne gel which was similar to ziana however, rather than putting a thin layer over my whole face I would put a fairly thick layer over the initial spots. I stopped doing that when I noticed more bumps. Could the bumps therefore be a reaction to using too much of the tretinoin/clindamycin gel?
Avatar n tn The pimples i keep getting are cystic acne. They hurt really bad and nothing helps them go away. This is currently what i use on my face: Face wash with .5% salicylic acid and another facewash with 3.5% benzoyl peroxide. I MAKE SURE to take really good care of my skin but it dosent seem to work. Also i have a prescription face medication cream called BenzaClin which is 1% clindamycin and 5% Benzoyl peroxide.
Avatar n tn Hi, You may have oily skin on the buttocks which makes it acne-prone. Acne vulgaris (commonly called acne) is a skin disease caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units (skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland). Enlargement of sebaceous glands and an increase in sebum production occur with increased androgen (DHEA-S), coomon in adolescence. Widely available OTC bactericidal products containing benzoyl peroxide may be used in mild to moderate acne.
Avatar n tn t say what you have already tried but the standard treatment for body acne is a course of oral antibiotics like Oxytetracycline 250mg twice daily and a topical retinoid gel such as Retin-a. It would be unusual to get acne on your arms, this is more likely to be keratosis pilaris rubra. However, Retin-a is also effective for this condition.
Avatar n tn t heal), this new dermatologist said he thinks it is simply adult acne, and prescribed Sulfacetamide Sodium-Sulfur Wash and clindamycin phosphate gel. That treatment of washing and using that gel did no better than using the bactorban in clearing the lesion up-still had it 3 weeks later for my wedding day. Problem is, neither treatment seems to work. I have a new lesion-this guy is different, it started the same, but it has spread sideways sort of.
Avatar f tn Thank you for such a speedy and detailed reply! I shall certainly take your advice, starting with the benzoyl peroxide cream, and very much hope that it finally does the trick.
Avatar f tn I have a huge acne scar on my laugh line on my left cheek, The skin has been peeling off, but it still gets irritated easily and makes the scar look red. Will this prevent the scar from healing? Is this part of the healing process? It burns when I put any products on it and when I touch the area. It has been over a week since I first had the mark, but usually my scars don't get irritated so easily after a week. They are usually gone by then. Should I be worried that this might never fade?
Avatar m tn Cleanse again at night, and apply a thin layer of treatment if needed. Pure Aloe vera gel is great for all skin conditions, acne included. When your skin is in a healthier state, exfoliating once or twice a week is okay. But until then, try to avoid any irritations.
Avatar m tn I am a male and in my teens and have Perioral dermatitis which I have read is uncommon, I know exactly how I got the skin condition from to much use of a Steroidal topical cream, I am now going through my second flare up - my last flare was about 2 years ago around this time, I think the flare up was caused by chlorinated water, which I read is not good for this condition I have been struggling to keep this condition under control and my treatment from my last time does not seem to be working, w
Avatar n tn Widely available OTC bactericidal products containing benzoyl peroxide may be used in mild to moderate acne. The gel or cream containing benzoyl peroxide is rubbed, twice daily, into the pores over the affected region. Bar soaps or washes may also be used and vary from 2 to 10% in strength. Externally applied antibiotics such as erythromycin, clindamycin, Stievamycin, or tetracycline aim to kill the bacteria that are harbored in the blocked follicles. ref:http://en.wikipedia.
