Avatar m tn Yes, clindamycin is good for bacterial infections which is what you have and also helps with acne/pimples.
Avatar n tn I wouldn't even treat for "possible infection" with either. I'd wait for test results to come back to see if you even have either of them. clindamycin isn't going to help for either if you should be infected with either of them. you are wasting your time and money by taking it.
Avatar f tn Fluconazole does work on yeast infections as it is an antifungal. Clindamycin is different and is an antibiotic. It fights bacteria, not yeast or fungus. Clindamycin can create a situation in which you get a yeast infection. It's not used to treat a yeast infection but fluconazole is.

Avatar n tn Generally, skin creams containing steroids should not be used to treat perioral dermatitis. Your physician may choose to treat the bumps with other topical medications, such as metronidazole, erythromycin, benzoyl peroxide, tacrolimus, clindamycin, or pimecrolimus. In more severe cases, oral antibiotics (such as tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, or erythromycin) may be required. Perioral dermatitis is a difficult condition to treat effectively.
Avatar f tn MEthicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus infection - is a form of infection which is resistant to most of antibiotics used currently, there is limited number of antibiotics that actually treat it amongst which are Vancomycin, Clindamycin and etc. It is a very serious disease, If a patient is diagnosed with it he should strictly follow the dosing schedule of the preparations and never forget a dosage as the whole treatment might be ineffective after it.
Avatar m tn He told me we would get to the root of the problem and after several tests and a biopsy came to the conclusion that I have what is called ileolitis which is crohns disease of your terminal ileum...Antibiotics can sometimes be used to help during a flare up because sometimes crohns disease can cause serious infections if it goes untreated for too long...
Avatar m tn Hi there, Any acne medication takes time to act and it is important to stick to particular regime for significant improvement. You should wash your face with a nonirritating, pH-balanced cleanser to decrease inflammation. Avoid scrubbing the face. Do not pop or pick at pimples. A correct nutritional balance and skin care will be helpful. Drink plenty of water every day. Take 7-8 hours of sleep daily. Have a balanced diet rich in vitamin A, zinc and rich in multivitamins.
793908 tn?1294705109 Turkey in and of itself doesn't cause pancreatitis. The only parts of turkey that are damaging for a dog to eat are the bones and the skin. The problem with people feeding turkey (and other table food) to their dogs is that instead of giving them small amounts of the meat as a treat along with their dog kibble, they tend to make a plate for them just like they would for another family member, and it's too rich for them. All the fat in the meal is what causes things like pancreatitis.
1394601 tn?1328032308 ) Are you using this to treat Acne? This is commonly used w/ benzoyl peroxide to treat acne. This also used to treat infections caused by susceptible anaerobic bacteria, including infections of the respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue infections. And a couple other things to consider, If you are child bearing years Condoms or diaphragms may not work to prevent pregnancy. Use another form of birth control while taking this medicine and for 72 hours after treatment ends.
Avatar n tn This does sound rather strange. Chrlorambucil is normally used to treat chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) and low grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma! Yet your vet did not mention either of these diseases.... It sounds odd that it should be used (and I have never heard of it being used ) to treat irritable bowel disease! You didn't miss something that the vet said...? Now some "chemo" drugs, in different and very low doses, can be used to treat auto-immune diseases.
Avatar m tn My concern is, because the infection returned is this infection resistant to Clindamycin. If so, how can I get to the bottom of this with conflicting opinions ? I certainly fear loosing more teeth but my major concern is my artificial joint. It would be a nightmare if that should become contaminated by any future dental procedures.
Avatar f tn I had the same thing happened to me before, I had bacteria on my tonsils and in the back of my throat and I used amoxicillin but it only killed the bacteria on my tonsils. Then from not treating the bacteria in the back of my throat caused my tonsils down my throat to swell so I was prescribed prednisone. It cured. But this time the doctor gave me Clindamycin and the bacteria is going away in the tonsils but not in the back of the throat yet.
Avatar f tn Having shown dogs fir a number if years, my own dogs were used to grooming, baths, trimming and having nails done with clippers or the Dremmel. However, they were worked with from a young age. Can't say they were thrilled but just a part of life for them. When I brought my aunt's dog home after she passed, it was a fight to the finish to get nails done. Had Greyhounds here and used a Dermnel on ours.
Avatar f tn The reason that the other poster could have been cured by cipro is that she may have had a Mycoplasma and it may have been sensitive to ciprofloxacin. But the standard treatment for bv is either metronidazole or Clindamycin. So you can try the cipro and see if it clears up but if it doesn't then if can take clindamycin I would then take probiotics after. Cipro can treat a lot of UTI's but not all. It depends on the bacteria that is causing the infection and how resistant it is.
Avatar f tn The American Pregnancy Association notes that 300mg of clindamycin is prescribed to be taken for seven days. This treatment has a success rate of 94 percent. Drugs.com reports that clindamycin can cause stomach upset, including nausea and vomiting. It can also cause diarrhea, throat irritation and a rash.
Avatar f tn I would like to ask you if you ever had Cash's infected tooth removed? If not, that thing has got to come out of there...the infection can progress and lead to problems elsewhere.
72351 tn?1281992542 My question is, I also have on hand Clindamycin which is what we normally use to treat abscesses and such but am fearful to give to the kitten since it is only apx 3-31/2 weeks old. I was just wondering how old do kitties have to be to use Clindamycin. TYVM for your help!
Avatar f tn Has anyone heard of this? I looked it up online and it says it's used to treat fungal infections for dogs. My dog has frequent anal gland infections. We take him to the vet all the time and he gets antibiotics but the problems never really goes away or comes back right away. We've tried everything. My mom went to visit India and spoke to the Vet there (he never saw my dog) and she brought back a bunch of Ketoconazole tablets 200mg.
72351 tn?1281992542 I heard it comes in liquid forms but my vet has not been able to locate it to purchase for me. Is there any better and easier liquid drug effective to combat oral infections that I might suggest to my vet? Also, I do give them Amoxi but it does not completely erradicate the oral problems--only cuts it down somewhat. Also was wondering about the effectivness of L-Lysine for FIV cats and ones with upper respitory problems Kindest Regards, C.
Avatar n tn drug of benzo family can be used to control seizures, especially Klonopin. and Klonopin can be used for any type of epilepsia, and it is safe to take Klonopin when you have to stop taking some antiepilepisa drugs for some reason. but I don't recommend you eat more than 3 types of antiepilepsia drug, because the interaction between these drug reduce their effects.

948202 tn?1245941816 Ok another question. Since my skin is very dry and flaky, i wanted to add a step to my morning regimen. I got some samples from the dermatologist of something called skin medica hydrating complex. It has hyaluronic acid in the form of a serum. Also, i use clindamycin phosphate lotion to prevent breakouts during the day. If i add this underneath the clindamycin, will it stop the clindamycin from working? Will the serum cause breakouts? It says it is for all skin types.
