Avatar n tn The treatment that you have been prescribed is correct. If you are having any side effects then get the antibiotics changed and even oral antibiotics can be added. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
72351 tn?1281992542 Never the less, he did go ahead and prescribe me the Clindamycin to try. All of the cats are still able to eat hard food, however I do also give them canned food. The female has a swelling protruding from under the right side of her tongue within the past couple of weeks which is what the vet called cancer. I am at my wits end to figure out exactly what the heck this ailment is and how to eradicate it! I do not have money for second opinion.
1394098 tn?1385960134 Except for the cats, I could have written that post myself. My husband too has lost his wife. All I want to do is sleep. I did shot 39 Friday night. I don't know why the eating is off, but I think it is all those weeks of Victrelis. Everything tastes bad to me. I don't even want to go to the grocery store. My hemoglobin will not stay up in the 10s even with procrit. I may have to riba reduce for awhile.
Avatar m tn Endodonist said there was pus -- infection. I have had allergic reaction to Levaquin and AzitheraI and have had side effects diarrhea and lightheaded from Cefdinir and Cephalexin so he prescribed Cipro 500mg. Said he doesn't usually prescribe but given that it have taken Cipro 250mg in the past (or urinary tract infection with no side effects. Is Cipro as effective as other antibiotics for dental infection?
Avatar n tn If you tested positive for C Diff, then shany2011 is incorrect and this is not side effects to the clindamycin.
Avatar n tn the safest brand for cats is by Thorne Research #12 veggie capsules, its the purest form and has no additives that are unsafe for cats, ie: soy, yeast and flavorings. the recommended dosage I have found is 1/4 capsule for 1 lb of food, which breaks down to 1/16 per 4oz feeding. you would need a 1/8 of a teaspoon measurement and fill only 1/2 full. I haven't heard of myasthenia gravis, but again follow your Vet's recommendations. I do hope kitties recover quickly.
Avatar m tn Loss of apetite, dehydration. Increased bilrubin of 1.3 mg/dl SGOT/SGPT is normal with 24/15 Pain in bones, which has aggravated due to this Itching on the face Should I continue taking the above medications? If yes, what should be the dosage? One more question.....Scars are seen on the face due to the use of scalpel for removing the pimples and subsequent use of an anti-inflammatory/anti-biotic injection by a doctor...What should be done to make my face even.......
Avatar f tn okay went back and did some hunting. this is a quote: "there are many side effects with using pain meds for cats however based on all avail info at this time the ones with the fewest side effects and safest for cats are the following..... Buprenorphine(buprenex) Butorphanol(torbutrol, torbugesic) Tramadol(Ultram) Fentanyl(duragesic) probably the worst one I've read about is metacam, this one can cause blindness among other problems...beware, many Vets still use it!!
Avatar f tn Also, the infection has been treated with numerous antibiotics (amoxicillin, flagyl, omnicef, augmentin, clindamycin), and all seem to help at first, but only clindamycin has lasting effects. Not even augmentin worked. Any idea on what kind of bacteria would respond to clindamycin but not augmentin?
Avatar n tn I wouldn't even treat for "possible infection" with either. I'd wait for test results to come back to see if you even have either of them. clindamycin isn't going to help for either if you should be infected with either of them. you are wasting your time and money by taking it.
Avatar m tn The dentist can prescribe based upon his clinical judgement but generally, clindamycin is prescribed at 150 to 300mg every 6 hours, with 300mg being a stronger dosage to kill bacteria. He may be concerned with some side effects of the antibiotics.
Avatar n tn You must be so frustrated, and having 5 kids to care for makes it very diifficult between the pain and medication side effects. I hope you get some relief quickly. Take care.
Avatar n tn I have had very little problems with Prolia. I've done 4 injections over the past 2 years. Just a little bit of bone pain for the first 2 wks after the injection then, it goes away. That said, unfortunately, for me, my DEXA did not improve and my osteoporosis in my spine (the T-score) did not get better. Now, my doctor is sending me to a 'bone' clinic that apparently specializes in bone disorders such as osteoporosis.
Avatar f tn s dental extractions that he should have been on a med called BUPRENEX following dentals, this med is the safest for use in cats and effective for dental pain, so if you do end up having to take him to a different clinic and they suspect pain ask for that med. wishing little Moe all the best to continue recovering quickly and totally..
1212365 tn?1329968536 I tried looking for the side effects but it was telling me basic stuff and it stated that it had more to it I just needed to ask a doctor. So now I'm asking....
Avatar m tn ve read indicates that it is very harsh on the digestive system when the body process it (all medications have a toxic byproduct, which causes side effects, but normally this amount is minimal) and bowel symptoms are a frequent side effect of this medication. Someone who already has UC, but may not be experiencing significant symptoms would therefore be put into a "flare" mode which would prompt diagnosis.
Avatar m tn The sinus flush part was for the left side infection. Yes, continue with antibiotics for the dental infection, as those follow the usual medical model for infections.
Avatar m tn I have been taking them for about a week now while going through some of its most irritating side-effect, diarrhea, for which I will be tested for C-difficil. However, last night I also began to experience some chest pains. I am experiencing them now also, as I just woke up. I have about two days left for this medicine. Unfortunately the endodontist who prescribed the medicine is not in his office today. I am very scared of continuing the medicine, should it trigger something worse.
Avatar f tn I have read so many posts where people have significant (severe) side effects years after completing treatment. Are there any studies or evaluations on post-treatment side effects? Any comments?
4451049 tn?1387153437 So I recently tested positive for Bartonella and Babesia. Also positive for Anaplama, mycoplasma pneumonia, and of course - Lyme. Treatment is making me feel so bad. And it doesn't go away as you may expect of a herxheimer. I'm on Clindamycin now and I'm pretty sure this one is doing some killing, not just side effects. I've been giving in on a lot of medications, mainly due to unacceptable side effects.
Avatar f tn I know it is used for the "cyst form" of Lyme. I've never tried it but have heard anecdotally that it works well. Ask your doctor though.
