Avatar m tn The cyst could be from the chronically inflamed sinuses. For a chronic sinus infection, 4-6 weeks of antibiotics are pretty standard in addition to nasal steroid sprays, oral steroids, and salt water irrigations of the sinuses. However, if you do have an infected tooth, you will still need to have this addressed as dental infections can be potentially life-threatening. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Doctor prescribed Prednisone,Zithromax, Acyclovir [for cold sores] and Clindamycin cap 300 mg for sinus infection. Just lately I got acid reflux.... hard to swallow... even when I did it was bad... slight burning to severe burning feeling on the left hand side of my mid upper chest area. I went back again to see the doctor who told me the coughing, wheezing [which now both had stopped... nearly completely] from the sinus infection is proobably the causes of it. He now prescribed AdipHex....
Avatar f tn If there is green, thats a sign of infection. If its green from your nose, it will be a sinus infection. if your ingesting it into your throat and chest. then it can turn into bronchitis. I would recommend telling your doctor that, and request antibiotics.
Avatar n tn Is an excruciating headache a sign of a reaction to clindamycin? I can't take it anymore, and my CT scan came back clean. I'm on the antibiotic as a preventative measure after sinus surgery (I'm about a week out). There's no infection, and all the drainage, etc. is normal.
Avatar f tn I had a root canal done on an abscessed tooth five days ago. I had waited through toothaches for almost 3 years to get this root canal done due to fear, but once I saw a giant fistula form on my gum above the infected tooth, I finally decided to get it done. I had the procedure done in one sitting completely under IV sedation. I came home confused and went straight to rest. I was prescribed Vicodin and Clindamycin.
Avatar f tn I have been fighting a bone infection in my jaw for 6 months - it wasn't identified until this past month but I'd been very sick this whole time. This past month I finally found a good oral surgeon who removed the 2 teeth causing the problem, and cleaned out the bone underneath.
Avatar n tn t get rid of the infection, so maybe a broad spectrum antibiotic will work for me. I sure hope so. thank you again for your advice.
Avatar m tn i do know there was a good amount of infection in the left maxillary prior to my surgery, so wondering if this is just aggravated by the surgery. Currently doing saline sprays, steam showers, prednisone, flonase, clindamycin, tylenol.
Avatar m tn Topical Terbinafine cream did not help doctor is treating with Ketoconazole 2% shampoo and topical Clindamycin 1%. I may be noticing a 10% increase in my normal gray follicles at two weeks treatment. I would love to send a picture.
Avatar f tn Fluconazole does work on yeast infections as it is an antifungal. Clindamycin is different and is an antibiotic. It fights bacteria, not yeast or fungus. Clindamycin can create a situation in which you get a yeast infection. It's not used to treat a yeast infection but fluconazole is.
Avatar n tn a sinus tact is like a "tunnel" through the bone and through or around the gum tissue from the abcess to the outside (in the mouth somewhere like the palate for upper teeth or the soft tissue vestibule by the roots of the teeth). it's basically a tract through which the abcess can drain. teeth with tracts usually have been abcessed for quite some time.
Avatar n tn has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects. HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.
Avatar m tn Hm, cellulitis is a skin infection and that would make more sense. It sounds like you DID and it has cleared with the antibiotics. ?
Avatar f tn I have some clindamycin but not sure if that is an appropriate medication for a cat. he weighs 11 lbs.
Avatar f tn Which I am sceptical because when I took Amoxicillin it was 1 a day pill for a week and as soon as i took it the bacteria was going away. Now I've taken Clindamycin like 5 times, because it's 1 pill ever 6 hours. There is 28 pills in total. But I don't see the bacteria fading, like the Amoxicillin.
Avatar n tn I was sent to the ENT where they found infection and a Retention Cyst. He put me on Clindamycin 300mg four times a day, Flonase, and a decongestant to see if my symptoms would improve. They did not, so he recommended surgery. After the surgery, and a few weeks later, I could breath better then I could my whole life. After the surgery the dizziness was gone. Most ENTs will not worry about the cysts, but if you are symptomatic, then you will probably need it removed.
Avatar m tn Usually a course of clindamycin or Amoxillicin is prescribed for an oral infection but Cipro should work fine.
Avatar f tn I had my first root canal (done 7 months ago) that became reinfected just 3 months after the initial procedure. It wound up causing a massive infection, along with near constant fever and previously a very ill period of 4-6 weeks where I had the most horrible waves of debilitating flu-like illness. At the onset of the infection, which turned into an abscess, my white blood cell count was slightly elevated.
Avatar f tn Hey there bbj, good to hear from you and especially that you achieved SVR! Sorry about the viruses though. I don't think it's a good idea to take any antibiotics unless you are certain you have a bacterial infection. They won't touch a viral infection and they can cause their own problems. If you might have influenza you should contact your doctor right away to ask for Tamiflu. It can lessen the severity and longevity of influenzas if taken early in the infection.
Avatar n tn 05%(base), i also just started using Fougera Clindamycin Phosphate gel USP, 1%(equivalent to 1% clindamycin. i have been using the first one for past three month twice a day and it is almost having no affect. the area is increasing and i m afraid it will get bigger and it is. what should i do? any recommendations on what i should use to get rid of it? can you recommend any medicine/cream?? i would really appreciate the help.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed a ten day course of clindamycin for a gum infection, which it took care of. Six weeks later I developed severe diarrhea with terrible gut pain and fever. Had blood and mucous in stools an perhaps some intestinal lining. I lost 10 lbs and was very weak and the thought of food made me feel sick.. Emergency room diagnosed clostridium difficile after stool samples and CAT scan. I was put on a 14 day, 4x/day course of oral solution vancomycin which solved the problem.
Avatar n tn I'm allergic to penicillin and sulfa. Dentist prescribed Clindamycin 150 mg for 10 days for infection in my tooth. Got hives, rash, swollen lips and extreme itching and blotches from head to toe. Was on vacation so stopped medication after 3 days of taking it. It is now 5 days taking benadryl and the hives and itching have not stopped. What is in the clindamycin that I may be allergic to?
Avatar m tn ve not seen improvement in 2 weeks...they are not recommended for use for more than 14 days!!! I will give you a link to this info... I think your kitty really needs to see a Vet specialist...is there a teaching Vet hospital nearby? they would have a variety of specialist to look more thoroughly into whats going on.....kitty needs a good xray at the least and by the sounds of it some dental work.
Avatar m tn I have found very little on specific symptoms of a root-fracture. My 2nd molar had a recent root canal and crown (3 months ago) last month I hade my lower wisdom teeth removed. Things were healing up, then while eating a soft cookie, I heard what sounded/felt like a loud crack at my 2nd molar. Since then, lots of pain and problems. The following are the major symptoms, I just want to know if this would be typical for a fractured root.
948202 tn?1245941816 Hello. I have been using retin-a 3 times a week and sulfacetamide 3 times a week (alternating each night). I just so happened to start reading the information for retin-a and it says, "if you have recently used products containing sulfur....use tretinoin with caution." Do i have something to be worried about?
Avatar n tn ll put you on antibiotics (which you already have taken) and generally this clears up the sinus infection. Yes, a sinus infection can feel like a toothache and vice versa, a toothache can feel like a sinus infection. Due to the timing of your toothache and root canal, I am leaning towards there being a problem with the root canal than a sinus infection. It never hurts to seek another endodontist's opinion on the matter.
Avatar m tn Tested and started shots Mar 2008. Sinus CT scans (when healthy) show a slightly deviated septum, no air-fluid levels, some mucus and passage swelling, and a cyst/polyp in my left maxillary sinus. Daily medicines: Xyzal Veramyst Singulair Multivitamin HCTZ Trying Sinupret+ since yesterday Sinus Rinse bottle Questions: 1. Mucus cultures taken by ENT show moraxella catarrhalis. I’ve read that m. catarrhalis colonizes children, and my problems started soon after having our first kid.
Avatar f tn I have a root infection lower left tooth, was put on clindamycin 150 mg every six hours and told to take Advil for inflammation. The tooth is still very painful, have been on it for 3 days and they scheduled me for a root canal in 3 1/2 weeks time. Is this normal?
