Never the less, he did go ahead and prescribe me the Clindamycin to try. All of the cats are still able to eat hard food, however I do also give them canned food. The female has a swelling protruding from under the right side of her tongue within the past couple of weeks which is what the vet called cancer. I am at my wits end to figure out exactly what the heck this ailment is and how to eradicate it! I do not have money for second opinion.

it does sound like an infection, but in my opinion, it is too risky to give the baby the clindamycin w/ out taking him/her to the vet. Way too risky and clindamycin might not be the correct antibiotic for the kitten's problem. Please come back w/ an update. Wishing the best for the kitten.

I would like to know what would be the best drug to treat oral infections in possible fiv possitive cats. I have tried Metronidazole without success, mostly because it is virtually impossible to give them tablets due to their mouths being so sore. I tried crushing the tablets and diluting with water to give orally but that is an even worse option lol! I heard it comes in liquid forms but my vet has not been able to locate it to purchase for me.

I have some clindamycin but not sure if that is an appropriate medication for a cat. he weighs 11 lbs.

has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects. HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.

the kitten is on clavamox drops and the 2 yr old is on clindamycin drops and let me tell ya giving cats liqiud drops is a joke my arms are all scratched up and my cats hate me:( but it will make them better i hope....lill kitten is eating playing just for a min or 2 and sleeping alot...the older cat is not very active at all but is in his 3rd day of being sick....he is drinking good and eating a lill not playing just sleeping.....

t seem to have problems with doxycycline, amoxicillin or clindamycin. Clindamycin destroys my stomach though. I avoid cipro and zithromax.

thanks for the advice i found it was called anal glands which is rare in cats and dogs. and the cat had an infection and had to have surgery and stitches yesterday.

Also, i use clindamycin phosphate lotion to prevent breakouts during the day. If i add this underneath the clindamycin, will it stop the clindamycin from working? Will the serum cause breakouts? It says it is for all skin types. Should i maybe use the hydrating complex after i use the clindamycin? I am 24 yr old female still experiencing some breakouts. I have not had any breakous for about 2 months since using clindamycin during the day, and sulfacetamide at night.

I have two failed implants due to infection which did not respond to Clindamycin. I also got a bad reaction to Clindamycin a feeling of big lump in throat, sore throat and severe heartburn. Also, the infection has been treated with numerous antibiotics (amoxicillin, flagyl, omnicef, augmentin, clindamycin), and all seem to help at first, but only clindamycin has lasting effects. Not even augmentin worked. Any idea on what kind of bacteria would respond to clindamycin but not augmentin?

Is an excruciating headache a sign of a reaction to clindamycin? I can't take it anymore, and my CT scan came back clean. I'm on the antibiotic as a preventative measure after sinus surgery (I'm about a week out). There's no infection, and all the drainage, etc. is normal.

I have googled Clindamycin and found that there is a link between torsades and Clindamycin. Is this drug in the same family as Erythromycin? Should I be safe and stop taking it. I have been taking it for 4 days and have 1 day left. My infection, which wasn't very bad to start with, is now gone. I have been having an increase of bradycardia and PVCs and I am a bit concerned. I have been prescribed Clindamycin to clear up a possible tooth infection. I was wondering if anyone has had any heart rhythm problems attributed to antibiotics. About 5 weeks ago I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed, and the oral surgeon prescribed me Clindamycin to prevent infection. A day or two after I finished my prescription I noticed that I wiped up a little blood on the toilet paper after going to the bathroom. I looked it up on the internet, and it said blood from the rectum could possibly be due to antibiotics, so I thought no big deal. Er doc gave me keflex. Took fir a day. Followed up with gp next day. Said i needed to be on clindamycin. On 4th day now of the clindamycin. Still swollen scrotum and pressure. Is clindimician effective against epidimitus?

My question is I seem to have an absessed tooth I was perscribed clindamycin for it but was told to take 12 pills daily each being 150 mg does this seem normal? I am calling my doctor tomorrow to see what she thinks, just kinda wondered if anyone else has had this issue.
