for one thing a uti has to be cultured NOT ALL antibiotics work for all infections they have to be specific to the bacteria involved or you will make your kitty very ill and not even help the uti......besides a medication prescribed for you at say 150lbs would need to be cut down to a minute size for a 10 lb cat... clindamycin hydrochloride isn't prescribed for uti's its normally used for wounds/abscesses and dental infections...

Alternatively, you can take clindamycin for the bv and drink a boat load of cranberry juice for the UTI and water of course. It will take longer to clear up the UTI but it should work. It did for me in a pinch. It just took a couple of extra days. Of course if you are diabetic you can't.

I had to have a root canal redone as my previous dentist did not get the whole nerve and it became infected. The Dentist put me on amoxicillin 875mg twice a day, after 6 days I called him as it was having no effect. he then put me on clyndamycin 300mg twice a day, this is day two, it seemed better this morning and by this afternoon it isswelling slightly the tissue above my tooth is spongie again and I can tell it's filling with pus.

I went to the obgyn last week they ran urine samples and std tests and everything was okay, I told them I’m spotting still for two weeks now three and cramping the test came back for BV so they prescribed me Metronidazole I felt way too anxious about taking it , Friday I went in for a ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound I believe and got the results today that it was fine. I was prescribed clindamycin after experiencing pain in my tooth after a root canal. I took a double dose (600mg) of clindamycin as I missed a dose. I am experiencing severe pain from my chest through to my back. It feels like spasms and is difficult to breath. I normally take nexium on a daily basis; however I missed my dose of that too. So I actually used two applications (500 MCG), and it gave me a UTI. The physician feared priapism and gave me the low dosage. Was the use of the application twice dangerous to the urethra? Should I try a 1000MCG? I am not sure about the carvaject injections? I actually heard a high risk of priapism.

Notice right away that it smelled a lot like asparagus. Not sure if this normal. Have been on antibiotic Macrobid for a small UTI and the week before on clindamycin 300mg 2x day. You could try using an antibiotic ointment such as clindamycin over it and see if this seems to help. If you do not notice any improvement, I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician or a dermatologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Hope this helps. Some people can tolerate more, some need to go nice and easy and not try to kill everything at once. I would talk with the doc and relate how bad your side effects are, and maybe the doc can ease off in some way. I wouldn't try to do that myself, and would definitely have a serious chat with the doc. Don't be a hero, as the saying goes.

Regretfully I stopped using it, and then an abcess formed under it, I continued with warm compresses to see if that would help and then he scratched it and lanced it himself- a foul stench and pus like fluid came out. now it is Easter weekend and can not get to a vet. I wonder what I can do to help him until I can get him to a vet. I put on the collar, he just wants out so bad and I wont let him. I have some clindamycin but not sure if that is an appropriate medication for a cat.

I'm not sure if it's bacteria in the back of my throat behind my tonsils. Do people normally have food particles? I'm still taking medicine, Clindamycin. I've taken like 21 pills and have 7 left but the white stuff behind my tonsils isn't going away. Only the white stuff on my tonsils went away.

My lips were dry and my muscles ached a bit but other then that it was fine. You can also lower your dosage and do the treatment over a longer period if you experience side effects so it’s flexible (this was in the UK so not sure if it’s different in the US but it’s the same drug I think?). It has helped me with 90% of my acne problems although I now have a different kind of skin type which I’m learning to manage but I’d just give it a go if you’ve tried everything else.

in urgent care and prescribed clindamycin e150 mg pills....3 pills 3x per day (12 pills) she is 15 and 119 lbs. Was not diagnosed with ANYTHING. Now we have had a utility, yeast infection, her iron level is at 30, she has passed out over 5 times, cannot sleep has lost weight, major stomach pain etc. urgent care has said it was right meds and right dose. If it helps I am very small (4'11 and 100lbs) so I feared that the dosage may have been causing some issues for me as well, even after discontinuing it. Thanks again.

I also had several urine tests and an ultrasound of my bladder and my kidneys, and there was no abnormalities in any of those tests, but I still feel with increased need to pee and a little discomfort. In regards to sex related issues, I haven't had sex yet but I have been noticing that I do feel more sore after ejaculation from masturbation, and for a long period (2 hours max).

Clindamycin is generally effective for periapical infection. Administration of additional metronidazole and increase the dosage of clindamycin may help clearing up infection faster.

has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects. HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.
