I was healthy before I took the <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>Clindamycin</span> and now I wake up nauseous and yesterday had a huge welt on my right arm and itchy bump on the front of my right ankle as well as off and on rashes that come and go. I would like to know when the Clindamycin and maybe also the steroid cream effects will go away? I have to fight the swollen feet and ankles still and notice they get worse now when sitting for long periods of time. This was not an issue before.
This interested me because I have been told I was allergic to penicillin since I was a young child. My Dad was a pediatrician so I assumed he had it right but now I'm considering getting tested.
Even tho it could have happened from taking a double dose, you must let your doctor know immediately about this, as it's possible he'll want you to go to the ER to be administered an anti-<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>Allergy</span> type medicine, oxygen supplementation, and they'll keep you there until your symptoms subside. I notice you posted this seven hours ago, so if you are feeling normal now, and you take your next required dose and nothing happens, fine.
Group B strep colonization is not a sexually transmitted disease (STD). For the same antibiotics like penicillin and <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>Clindamycin</span> are used. Because of possible resistance with Clindamycin, vancomycin remains the initial treatment of choice for group B streptococcal infection in patients who are allergic to penicillin. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
I did, dosen't seem to do anything. I am allergic to Penicillin and double checked with the Dr. and the pharmacy before taking this drug. A friend of mine is a Family Practioner and told me to leave work and go home and take 2 benadryl every 8 hours. Will the benadryl clear up the rash? How long does it take to recover from something like this? Should I not hve been put on this drug with a severe penicillin Allergy? Thank You for your time.
I went to a walk- in clinich, yesterday and talked to doctor. He put me on <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>Clindamycin</span> because I have an <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>Allergy</span> to penicillin and amoxycilline. Any way my swelling hasn't went down in fact it has increased and can feel it close to my eye's. Is there a way I could reduce the swelling or should I seek a medical emergency, right away?
<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>Clindamycin</span> - Apparently now within a couple days she is noticing considerable improvements and now the spots have seemed to "stop" popping up no matter how mild they were when they did.... the fact is they've stopped showing up in new places. I've never seen someone so sensitive to EVERYTHING in the realm of physical and mental like my mom is, but one thing is for sure she definitely knows her body cause that sulfa drug did cause an allergic reaction.
So if you are allergic to amoxacillin you are probably/possibly allergic to all the penicillin and penicillin like drugs like what they call beta lactam drugs. These are cephalosporins or those that have names like cephalothin, cephalexin, ceph anything. Also if you are allergicc to Biaxin that is the same as Clarithromycin so you would be allergic to the macrolides like the clarthoromcyin, azithromycin, etc. It is too bad but you might want to get Allergy tested to make sure. 2.

So I was going to switch, and after I stopped, I broke out with about 200 zits on my chest, a yeast infection, and 6days later, those are both going on, along with still being itchy. I tried taking <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>Clindamycin</span>, but every time (with liquids, food, hidden in soft foods, etc) the pill lodges in my throat, then burns it raw for days. This happens with everywhere pill. I also now have a metallic taste in my mouth.

I personnally prefer <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>Clindamycin</span> as Alternative to penicillin <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>Allergy</span> patient. They are intrinsically resistant to penicillinase-susceptible penicillin (low level), penicillinase-resistant penicillins, cephalosporins, nalidixic acid, aztreonam, macrolides, and low levels of <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>Clindamycin</span> and aminoglycosides. They use already-formed folic acid, which allows them to bypass the inhibition of folate synthesis, resulting in resistance to trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole.
In 1996 I had double pneumonia with collapse of my lung. Steroids caused significant weight gain and my body rejected penicillin (rash and itching). Months of Cipro finally got control of the disease, and I began to recover, but the coughing produced unrelenting muscle spasms that required physical therapy. That same year I had a pinched nerve in my T spine and passed 3 kidney stones. More wrenching and many hours of PT!
Thanks so much for all posts and so glad to find this site but so sorry about all of us with this dis-ease. This summer, after having unprotected sex, getting the "fishy ****" flora, being treated with antibiotics, yeast medicine, and now this StrepB and penicillin, more yeast meds and again this StrepB invades my privates. Thanks for all the advice I'll take the recommendations to my next Dr. visit and will combine the homeopathatics along with a month-long juice fast.
He did a test and it wasn't, so I went back and he did more tests and found out some bacteria that shoudn't be there, he passed me the medicin Dalacin (<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>Clindamycin</span>) and I am using it for 5 days now and my cuts did not open again since I began, so I really have my hopes up for this now, maybe it can be the case of some of you, ask for all the tests.

I too have washed the sheets religiously, avoided harsh makeup and chemicals, tried to link this to some type of food <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>Allergy</span>--and I can't come up with anything! I will say that yesterday for the first time in a long time I began using the topical cream DUAC prescribed by my Dermatologist for acne.
I am another sufferer, goodness there are tons of us are'nt there plus we ones we havent heard from, I got Chronic Urticaria and Dermographism(thats another nasty little twist on Hives) after Dental work in May, I was given high doses for pain of Advil, and also Penicillin, they used Nova caine and I even am told the Materials in root canals can cause it, so I have at least a few allerganons there could have triggered it, the heat doesnt help ,but didnt start it.

It is hard to explain but it is a miserable feeling.. I was recently on penicillin for a bladder infection and my mouth was so sore I could not eat. I am wondering if certain meds trigger this re-action. I am 71 years old and have had a few allergies and sinus problems, but otherwise in good health..I wish you all the very best and hope we can find something to stop this...
It started off as every now and then but for the last month it is all the time 24/7. It is really taking a toll on my life. It is so bad it wakes me up and prevents me from falling asleep. I have had thyroid, hormones, mri, ct scan and many other tests. The only test that came back questionable was my ANA, it is positive, speckled pattern. My RA factor was negative. I have no diagnosis as of yet. I do have Epstein Barr virus too.
My labia gets sore from the scratching and I break skin often from scratching. I have tried everthing, but it doesn't go away. I know it's not an STD because I went to the doctor's and have been tested. However they haven't helped me none. The labia skin is thickened from the scratching, is very dry (white-like) and flaky (at times). So are my inner thighs at the crease yet they do not itch that often. There are no bumps but my skin is raised, and I don't know what it is.
The hepatic flexure of the colon makes the turn right in the same area where the liver and the gallbladder are. could be buildup of stool and gas that stretches the colon and causes pain. Has the Dr mentioned this?
Unfortunately, that did not last. I started having the same signs again, and when I tested it was positive again. And ever since I can't get it to be negative again, meaning the candida if that is what I have has become resistant to the supplements that I was using. As I started a new treatment, I will take the test this week-end to see if there is any progress.
