I was prescribed Clindamycin adn Bactrum at my local hospital due to an insect bite that resulted in Cellulitis. The CLindamycin caused me constant loose stools. MY doctor re-examined and wanted me to take the antibitotics for an additional 10 days resulting in 20 days of taking this medication. Well that was a month ago.. the cellulitis cleard up nicely but the loose stools have not.. as well as extreme bloating and abdominal pain..
Take care of your self eat right sleep right avoid alcohol and caffein. Find out if anything will take away from the effects of the antibiotic. Consider Levaquin it is stronger and has better penetration into the prostate. Prostatitis is hard to cure once it gets past the acute phase. Blast this thing out of your system asap. Consider a good dose of Rocephrin, and doxycyclin might be effective against chlyamidia better.
) I wash my face twice daily and get enough sleep and drink 10 glasses of quality water, no coffee or alcohol. My face cleared up during my pregnancies, but I react horribly to birth control pills so thats not an option either. I did have 2 12% TCA peels that did seem to help, but when discontinued for more than a month my skin went back to it's old naughty ways. I cant afford to do peels twice a month for the rest of my life! What other options do I have?
Initial lesions and relapses can be triggered by psychological stress, sun exposure, spicy and/or hot foods and drinks, alcohol consumption, cosmetics, topical irritants, etc. Rosacea is preferably treated locally with azalaic acid, metronidazole, sodium sulfacetamide or sulfur. Laser and IPL treatments are effective too but do not prevent relapses. If necessary, short-term oral therapy with tetracyclines could be prescribed.
Shaves with an electric razor and disinfects razor head with alcohol after. He still gets on occasional whitehead but the Clindamycin Pledgets are by far the most successful treatment. Before the pledgets he had tried many other things like Neutrogena, Proactive, etc with fair to poor results. I hope some of theses suggestions help you.
Also I haven't been drinking any alcohol at all. 18. I have also been avoiding legumes, peanuts, etc. 19. One surprise is that I still include my one piece of dark chocolate (85%) cocoa 20. No soy products. 21. I have been eating more fresh fruits and fresh vegetables.
Another factor is that im incredibly attracted to sugary sodas and i HATE soda of any type unless its mixed with alcohol. Yet again i dont know if this is a symptom that is normal from the antibiotics or if i am going through a phase. Has anyone heard about this before??
For full disclosure about me, I smoke a pack and a half a day, eat a poor diet, get about 5-6.5 hours a sleep at night...I don't drink alcohol or do any drugs. My job is very stressful and my home life has also been VERY stressful, due to the bad economy and constantly thinking I'm HIV+...
Sounds like it could be Aspiration Pneumonia. Did you have anything to eat or drink, other than sips of water, in the 12 hr before the anesthesia? Link at: http://www.emedicine.com/EMERG/topic464.htm Aspiration Pneumonia Excerpt: "Causes: Conditions that may reduce a patient's gag reflex and/or ability to maintain an airway include aspiration as a coincident risk.
This is going to be a long post, so get comfy! I'm a recovering alcoholic, pain killer abuser, etc. I've been attending AA/NA meetings and have been clean for 61 days. Here is my story (and how it all relates to an aspirin overdose) The last time I drank I was out of Vicodin (I used to drink and take pain meds, not bright I know... ) and was in a considerable amount of pain. I have been prescribed Vicodin for dental problems after a car accident.
If I feel an itch, I'll hit the spot with some Clindamycin. But basically, I'm getting back to where I was before treatment. Finally. Saw a big shot cosmetic derm today who I thought would give me the skinny on IPL and laser. Turned out he mostly did cosmetic surgery and referred me to a laser expert. So $250 down the drain to the wrong person but at least he was being honest. Actually, I may not need the laser if things stay as they are.
Clinda comes in an alcohol base but I think that's dry the oil from skin which I think is good, at least for me. In fact, not sure if it's the clindamycin or alcohol that is helping. I may purchase an alcohol-base cleaner (Sebanil) for at least my neck and oily areas on face. I also find the rx Sulfacet very good an non-irritating -- a good substitute for Metrogel. Sulfacet comes tinted and non-tinted. The Rezamid (OTC) is good for spot treating of pimples.
Dairy is very bad for reflux, also for stomach problems as it creates a lot of acid. Also, chocolate, anything mint and alcohol but for different reasons. they relax the valve that then allows the stomach acid to come back up. You will not always feel heartburn. Alcohol creates acid. It is really a terrible sensation so I sympathize as I have had it a long time until recently it has gone away. I use Gas-x and Maalax Max (not plus) to get rid of it.
i have not tx'd yet and my lipids & glucose are out of normal range. there is a direct corralation with the liver and glucuse. my glucose level went as high as 120 with 126 being diabetic so i cut out sugar, carbs, etc and got it down to 103(up to 99 normal). i'm hoping to avoid becoming a diabetic. high frutose sryup is one of the worst things and is in so many foods & drinks, especially soda. they say this is one of the reasons americans are so FAT.

puts all of her waste in her own grocery bags to separate it out and toss it outside, she isn't touching anyone and refuses to allow it which has been really hard cause she's an affectionate person, we've been lysoling just about everything everyday, etc.. on and on and on, we've got h2o2 - alcohol - and hibiclens at the 2 bathroom sinks for hand washing, hand-sanitizer for mom so she doesn't have to wash her hands as much, even lysoling ourselves if we itch anywhere, etc...
I am usually sporting cotton t-shirts, and since this last outbreak, I've quit wearing a bra entirely. I'm washing twice a day, and applying clindamycin gel once a day. I'm supposed to do this for 3 months and then see the dermatologist again. My psychologist suggested a surgeon closer to me that might be able to do the surgery when the time comes. I've had the surgery on my other armpit a couple years ago, and it was successful, which is why I want to do it again.
That means he may have liver damage from either drug and alcohol abuse or something worse like hepatitis C. Has your roommate ever indicated that he WANTS to stop abusing drugs?
I'd also have any sores/eruptions cultured to cover all the bases. Hopefully you can get a handle on it. Don't know if you drink alcohol at all but that can trigger it even in small amounts. I know skin issues especially on your face (or hands and feet as Jm had) can be very miserable, I wish you a quick recovery. I hope Jm weighs in on this and some of the others that have had this issue. here's some info I found on it. "The exact cause of rosacea is unknown.
My dermotoligist thinks I'm crazy, but I also stopped drinking milk 2 weeks ago after my mother reminded me that I was allergic to it as a child and that has seemed to improve my skin even more.you might want to look into any food allergies you might have. I think if you continue researching these antibiotics, you'll find the answers your looking for and I wish you the best of luck.
I am posting this same e-mail on all of my "watched posts," Because my problem is solved and I want to "pay it forward" one last time before I remove my name from this forum. There seems to be more than one thing happening. I am writing to those women who: have a reoccurring rip-type fissures on the inside of the labia, between the labia and clitoris, along the natural fold. (Mine was always in the same spot. -Note my earlier posts.
I know this is weird, but the taste of my discharge becomes bitter. After treatment of oral clindamycin and diflucan all my symptoms are relieved, sometimes for along time. I had read an article many yrs ago about chronic BV . I was first diagnosed with BV when I was 20, but I had no symptoms. Most of the time, doctors say they don't see any infection, but treat me any ways for BV because it does relieve my symptoms. I have been on on metrogel, 2 times a week, vaginally.
I'm taking Isoprinosine, i'm eating very healthy, i have 2 months since i've changed my life style. I dont drink vinegar anymore, before i use to drink bottles with vinegar, i was obsesed. I also quit sugar. And i'm eating a lot of food that specialists said are good for cancer. My future husband had warts too, he took it from me, but his warts almost dissapear completely in 3 months, he also had small warts in oral cavity and those dissapeared completely. Keep in touch! God bless you!
He then got the result of my CAT scan and realized that my liver was abnormally enlarged so much so that he thought I was an alcoholic. I told him that I rarely drink. He looked shocked, concerned, alarmed and stomped all at once. He then asked me if anyone has ever told me that my kidney function was elevated and I said yes, but thought it was normal. He said your pancreatic enzymes are high and this causes serious concern for me.
Strange I know, but I eat a TON of them and really think that I have some kind of sensitivity to something in them. Also if I combine the hot peppers with a few alcoholic drinks and add allergy season.....I am a swollen, red eyelided mess. Sounds weird, but I have pondered this for a very long time.
I also went through not taking baths and eatting the right things and yes..Mellaluca. OH yeah, eat yogurt, drink milk and in addition acidophillis (sp) I got to the point where after intercourse I'd would use yeast infection cream. It would ward off the itching but I never did cure until after the divorce. I've been divorced for 6 yrs now and I never so much have had a yeast infection. Makes you wonder doesn't it? In my opinion.....
I also suspected that i had some form of food/drink allergy and began depriving myself of coffee and alcohol. The end result is that I eliminated coffee and alcohol (as much as i can) and do the nasal spray with the daily claritin and I feel better than I have felt in a long time. Hope this information is helpful to some, if not all of you.
