Avatar m tn Hello, It can be due to cystic acne. Cystic acne is the most severe form of acne. Cystic acne affects deeper skin tissue than the more superficial inflammation from common acne. Since they are severe, so systemic medications are usually required. The treatment consists of topical and oral antibiotics, tretinoin, oral contraceptives in females and Intralesional corticosteroid injections. Very severe cases may need excision and drainage.

Avatar n tn Hi Sir, I used to get pimples around my face, back and chest however I had undergone a treatment and the problem subsided eventually however the moment I left the treatment I again started getting pimples or some kind of infection. I am again undergoing a treatment and the doctor says that this is a normal concern....I got some reports done and everything is fine.. Please let me know how long will this continue? will I be ever able to get rid of this medication?
Avatar n tn I also have some scars in my face, like tiny holes because of acne. besides the treatment i´m already in to eliminate them, is there anything else I can do to accelerate the process of removing them?
Avatar m tn Hi there, Any acne medication takes time to act and it is important to stick to particular regime for significant improvement. You should wash your face with a nonirritating, pH-balanced cleanser to decrease inflammation. Avoid scrubbing the face. Do not pop or pick at pimples. A correct nutritional balance and skin care will be helpful. Drink plenty of water every day. Take 7-8 hours of sleep daily. Have a balanced diet rich in vitamin A, zinc and rich in multivitamins.
Avatar m tn You can also treat acne by cleaning your face regularly with Cetaphil, using mild skincare products, applying antibacterial topical medications like Clindamycin. With the help of the doctor, the treatment of oral antibiotics, contraceptive pills, retinoids, cortisone injections, chemical peels and laser treatment can be your choices. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn Hi, My doctor just called me last night and told me I tested positive for herpes, but asked how I was doing and I said I was still taking the clindamycin phosphate that she had prescribed and she said no don't take that yet, but I already started it... Should I continue use? I am so confused and I still have to schedule a follow up appt. to try and understand all of this. Please help!
Avatar f tn I’m a 26 year old male and have had acne since I was 12. I have tried so many different medications and treatments but none seem to work long-term and afternoon 14 years of this I am very frustrated and just don’t know what to do. Many of the medications seem to help for a couple of months but then my acne always flares back up.
Avatar f tn I am taking 400 mg of Spironolactone for acne and 10 mg of Klonopin once a day for anxiety. Can I take these drugs until I become pregnant? Or do I have to stop now? Also my husband had a vasectomy reversal August 2013 and I have one blocked tube can I get pregnant. GYN wants me to take clomid.
1364054 tn?1346005167 Hello, Adaplene is a topical retinoid primarily used in the treatment of mild-moderate acne. Adapalene controls acne but does not cure it. Medications similar to adapalene have caused tumors in laboratory animals who were given the medications and exposed to real or artificial sunlight. It is not known whether adapalene increases the risk of tumors in humans. But it is advisable to protect yourself from sunlight and sunlamps while taking adapalene. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn The pimples i keep getting are cystic acne. They hurt really bad and nothing helps them go away. This is currently what i use on my face: Face wash with .5% salicylic acid and another facewash with 3.5% benzoyl peroxide. I MAKE SURE to take really good care of my skin but it dosent seem to work. Also i have a prescription face medication cream called BenzaClin which is 1% clindamycin and 5% Benzoyl peroxide.
Avatar f tn Can anyone recommend an acne treatment for those cystic acne bumps that take forever to go away? I'm 46 and did Accutane in my 20s with pretty good results until the last several years. I've had the most success with Pro Active, but my skin got really itchy when I wore mineral powder makeup and I kept ruining towels, pillowcases and shirts. I've also tried Acne Free, Murad and Dermatologic plus prescription cream with no luck.
Avatar n tn However, now im anxious when it comes to stopping the use of this treatment for fear my skin will go back to how it was initially, as i don't wish to keep returning to the doctor everytime the tube finishes. So, my question is if i stop using Duac will my skin remain clear or just go back to how it was?
Avatar n tn Hi, You may have oily skin on the buttocks which makes it acne-prone. Acne vulgaris (commonly called acne) is a skin disease caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units (skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland). Enlargement of sebaceous glands and an increase in sebum production occur with increased androgen (DHEA-S), coomon in adolescence. Widely available OTC bactericidal products containing benzoyl peroxide may be used in mild to moderate acne.
Avatar m tn I am having Acne vulgaris on my face for the past seven years. Now I am 20 and I am Male. I used to take some ointments(clindamycin, benzoyl peroxide) but that had only temporary effects. Of late, I have started taking medications on the advice of a doctor who says that I have reached the Gr.IV satge of acne. It is given as follows: Isotretinoin 20 mg twice daily, body weight being 50 kg.
Avatar n tn t say what you have already tried but the standard treatment for body acne is a course of oral antibiotics like Oxytetracycline 250mg twice daily and a topical retinoid gel such as Retin-a. It would be unusual to get acne on your arms, this is more likely to be keratosis pilaris rubra. However, Retin-a is also effective for this condition.
Avatar f tn I am 28 years old and have had terrible acne since I was beginning puberty around the age of 13. I had tried everything even Accutane which worked for a few months but its now back. I have recently within the past 4 years discovered I have Endometriosis and have concluded that the acne is primarily cause by the crazy hormone levels. I break out mostly on my chin and jaw line. Very seldom on my cheeks and forehead.
Avatar n tn ve always had an even tone overall (with the exception of when I breakout and get the acne dark marks). I received a second opinion and my new dr. gave me clindamycin lotion and 6% benzyl peroxide cleanser but the problem has not changed. Can you please tell me what you think this may be? It's really affecting my self-esteem. I did some research and came across a condition called exogenous ochronosis or something like that which is irreversible. Could this be what's happening to me?
Avatar f tn t even ask my name and prescribed doxycycline, clindamycin and retin-a. I have been using faithfully, but this acne is still SOOO itchy and painful to even move my face or to open my mouth to eat. I have no idea what happened all of the sudden and why it doesn't go away all of the sudden too! I think that I would take accutane because I am at a loss. Have tried so many things!!
1394601 tn?1328032308 ) Are you using this to treat Acne? This is commonly used w/ benzoyl peroxide to treat acne. This also used to treat infections caused by susceptible anaerobic bacteria, including infections of the respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue infections. And a couple other things to consider, If you are child bearing years Condoms or diaphragms may not work to prevent pregnancy. Use another form of birth control while taking this medicine and for 72 hours after treatment ends.
Avatar f tn Ask for doctor prescription. I read on pregnancy book that Clindamycin+Benzoyl Peroxide works.
Avatar n tn It is also known as ‘acne inversa’. The disease can spread to genitals. It can also be due to staphylococcal skin infections. Wash skin with antiseptic lotions daily to decrease bacteria. Treatment is by topical antibiotics and steroids. Local antibiotics of erythromycin and Clindamycin group also help. Retenoid group of drugs also help. Wear loose fitting clothes. Get your diabetes status checked as high blood sugar can also cause recurrent boils. Consult a skin specialist.
