Avatar m tn I am still having night sweats BADLY. My dr put me on Climara Pro. I am concerned about the stroke and dementia risks that it lists. I have been on it for a week and its helping me, although I am very bloated which does not work well for a recovering eating disorder/alcoholic, (just saying). Is it too dangerous for me because of my blood flow. Will the bloating subside? I have stopped eating mostly again, but I am more worried about the blood?
1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi guys, just a question about HRT.............. anyone out there on it, and does it affect your MS drugs, and did it help?? I was prescribed Climara .05 in a patch once a week, and I'm scared to try it. I was just wondering if anyone out there has tried these drugs and what was your take on them. Any feedback would be appreciated.... Thxs..
Avatar m tn Why would one side hurt worse than the other. They also put me on a hormone patch called Climara. Has anyone taken this and is it good.
Avatar n tn The reason you need HRT after a hysterectomy is to avoid long term issues such as osteoporosis (sp), cardiac design, thinning skin, eye degeneration, and brain function declination. There are some that believe that by keeping your hormones balanced you may also avoid certain types of cancer. I recommend visitinga site called hystersisters that has a WHOLE lot of info on HRT. The fact that he is removing you suddenly instead of gradually is bad practice. I would go to a different Dr.

Avatar f tn (1) new adenoma with hormone secretion (2) Pituitary problem (3) Adrenal insufficiency????? Symptoms: bradycardia (56- 60), occasional PVC/PAC's, cold intolerance, irritability, fatigue (physically overwhelming at times), difficulty sleeping, nervousness/depression. I am only on Climara Patch/postmenopausal however have been under alot of stress in the last six month with family health issues..
Avatar f tn I am sorry to hear you had this surgery. I know how difficult it is. I never took Lupron so do not have that experience but ovary removal would be similar to being on Lupron permanently. I became severely depressed and mildly anxious along with a whole laundry list of other nasty symptoms after my organs were removed. And frankly, my gynecologist who did the surgery wasn't at all helpful afterwards. You are not even on the highest dose patch; .1mg is the highest dose.
Avatar f tn The side effects are typically caused by too much or too little of the hormone. Have you consulted an endocrinologist to see how your hormones are as you may need a thyroid increase or other medication and you then may not need depression and anxiety medications. I would read the booklet that comes with the patch or consult a pharmacist about the side effects as eye issues are not common with estrogen. Perhaps you need a smaller patch - you can trim your patch to help - I do that sometimes.
Avatar f tn "Overlapping" may help. When you put on the new patch, leave the old one on for a half or full day before removing. If that doesn't work, you could try switching to the weekly Climara patch and "overlap" it if you still have the migraine trigger. I used the patch for over a year and it didn't work well for me due to the fluctuations and not giving me enough estrogen. But it did not cause migraines but I was never one to suffer with those, thankfully.
178345 tn?1242536246 wondering if it has to do with the hormone patch??? I am eating well and losing weight (on purpose) so I dont know what is wrong..tomorrow I am seeing my primary MD..Just thought if anyone has any idea...please share..
Avatar f tn loved the patch instead. There is a difference between a synthetic hormone like Premarin and a bioidentical estrogen. And, you need testosterone (no progesterone). Sorry... gotta go. Can check in later. You can feel better... I am soooo sorry you are suffering so much.
Avatar f tn I have been on bio-identical hormones for a few years - progesterone cream and DHA cream - and have done fine. I had osteoporosis before the hormone creams but have now reversed it. (still have low bone mass though). I'm worried that the hot-flashes and osteoporosis might recur if I don't take the estrogen. . . but I don't know if I can handle the side-effects of it. Any suggestions out there?
Avatar f tn symptoms have lessened but the migraines are as strong as ever. I take Femtrace as a hormone replacement. I have also taking others such as Estratest and some others that I just don't remember the names of. My migraines are frequent, sometimes several a week. I take Imetrex and an anti depressant for them. My question is can memopause usher in migraines as a side effect?
Avatar n tn I was wondering if anyone has done any of the hormone replacement that is natural? I am going crazy and need help.
Avatar f tn The patch (at least Vivelle-Dot, never tried Climara) was a dismal failure for me. I was on the highest dose and about all it did was keep my vagina well lubricated so all the estrogen must have been going straight there and giving me no other benefits. I get much better results with the estradiol tablet (generic Estrace) which is a $4/$10 prescription in the U.S. If you want to go with transdermal delivery, gels or compounded creams are options.
Avatar f tn Vivelle is a bioidentical and I am assuming you are on that or you are on Climara, which is similar to Vivelle in that it is Estradiol only and yet Climara patch lasts a bit longer and so you don't have to change it as often. In my case, my estrogen levels have not been high enough over the past few years, compounded with too much Progesterone. More on that in a minute. I should not have been using it at all.
4128244 tn?1350073611 Estrogen releases a protein that makes the thyroid hormone inactive because it binds the replacement hormone." Have you been diagnosed with a thyroid condition? If so, which one? Are you currently on a thyroid replacement medication? If so, what med/dosage and how long have you been on it? Do you have symptoms of a thyroid condition? If so, which ones?
Avatar n tn But the thought is that without ovaries, the body cannot utilize progesterone as was once thought. Examples of this type of estrogen in its bioidentical form include Climara and Vivelle at various doses. Having said that, there is also a school of thought that the only thing needed is Estradiol and very little progesterone.. to keep the levels from fluctuating, which is what you are experiencing (in my opinion...
1651832 tn?1301690605 ve been doing some research and have also read some very good things about the estrogen hormone (E3) called estriol. Does anyone have any experience with that hormone. Any help and advice I can get will be much appreciated!! Thanks!
Avatar f tn Hi Brook, I hope that is you name, thankyou so much for the feedback, it is a relief to have someone explain things from human to human, doctors are sometimes inhuman I am on Diaformin for my diabetes 250ml once daily because it got all messed up when I had to take antibiotics for about 4 months for another condition called intestitial cystitis which was diagnosed by a gyno, I take Ternormin for my abnormal heart beat, I take Nexium for reflux, I take Antenex to help me sleep, and lipitor for ch
Avatar n tn Been on Climara ever since. I had my regular mamogram a few weeks ago and after radiologist suggested u/s and then core biopsy. The pathology report came back as fibrocystic changes with adenosis but the radiologist felt the films were discordant with pathology and sent me to a breast surgeon. The surgeon declared that the lump in my breast was "worrisome" and scheduled me for surgical removal of entire lump with margins. I had surgery on Monday.
Avatar n tn I know that I have ups and downs during the month, and they have a lot to do with my hormone level. My symptoms got a lot worse after I had to stop taking the pill. (Had a blood clot.) I've wondered if there's a way to take estrogen without worrying about clotting up again - guess I should ask my neuro.
Avatar f tn t affect your whole system. The whole system estrogen (Vivelle and Climara particularly since Estradiol is the best) that many of us take will help a little but you often need a boost. Two weeks of constant use and then about three times a week should be helpful. Hormones, Hormones, Hormones. Who knew? OH, and Madge, I hear you on the Urologist's exam. I left the office the third time I had to see one (a few years after my surgery) and said, "That's it for me for awhile.
