Avatar m tn I am still having night sweats BADLY. My dr put me on Climara Pro. I am concerned about the stroke and dementia risks that it lists. I have been on it for a week and its helping me, although I am very bloated which does not work well for a recovering eating disorder/alcoholic, (just saying). Is it too dangerous for me because of my blood flow. Will the bloating subside? I have stopped eating mostly again, but I am more worried about the blood?
Avatar n tn t get me started on leg pains, joint pain, headache, depression, foot problems, excess weight gain around my abdomen, ..... all of these things are under control when I am on the optimum dose of Vivelle and testosterone. It is a jungle out there, though, I'll say that. Don't stop looking for answers....
Avatar f tn I say this because it typically is the Lack of Estrogen that will cause weight gain and not the abundance. On the other hand, since you are also taking progesterone, you may have been out of balance between the two hormones. My other thought is that you may be the type of person who does really well on progesterone without added Estrogen, although the more I research recent studies on this, those people are few and far between.
Avatar n tn Mainly now I am still dealing with the insomnia, panic, weight gain and constipation and the overall pain. What is this and why do I feel so crappy? I never knew menopause was so horrible AND I MEAN HORRIBLE. If someone had told me when I was in my 20s that... oh yeah and guess what when you hit your 50s your gonna wish you were dead rather than feel like you hit a wall physically (figuratively speaking) EVERYDAY. This is hell srsly. I never knew I would hit meno age and feel this poorly.
Avatar n tn A small biopsy was taken of a Pelvic Mass (with loculated fluid collection with thick septation in the pelvis extending to the perirectal/resacral space with numerous nodular amorphous enhancing soft tissue components dark on T2 and isointense on T1 imaging similar to fibroids per the MRI -- the largest nodule measuring 1.2 cm in size) which was compatible with leiomyoma results. Is surgery removal of the mass recommended? or a specific hormonal treatment?
Avatar f tn does a nice job explaining the middle of the body weight and body shape change issue. Vliet addresses the weight and body shape issue, too, and how to help maintain a realistic body weight. Most of the shift is due to the estrogen. Estrogen will not cause weight gain..it is the loss of estrogen that causes much of this. Yeah, I wouldn't want you to try the bodyrolling massage for adhesions since it sounds like you are dealing with something different.
1033596 tn?1252519593 I don't want to play doctor here or anything, but I was in a similar situation for several years. My apartment got broken into, then I moved home, and then my house literally got hit by lightening. I started taking lexapro for the Post-Traumatic Stress. I'd always been a bit of a snacker and stress-eater, but I a burdensome amount of weight from it. I asked my doctor about other alternatives to the Lexapro, and she suggested Welbutrin.
Avatar f tn When I was taking Prozac I didnt gain weight.Paxcel made me gain some though.
Avatar f tn How long did it take people to gain weight, if any on Methimazole. I want to gain weight and nothing has happened. I've been on it for about a month now.
Avatar f tn This is the time in your life more than ever that you should be eating healthy and exercising regularly. Expect to gain weight ; that is healthy and necessary for most women, but if the gain happens too quickly you MUST Work with your OB to ensure that you are as healthy as possible. I would really listen to Alaysha's advice personally.. She's a model and one of the most stunning pregnant women I've ever seen, so I'd follow her rules for healthy weight gain personally lol.
Avatar m tn I have taken quite a bit of different antibiotics back in May. I have stopped taking it a about 3 weeks ago, maybe longer and noticed that I have a hard time gaining weight now. I have had bad anxiety and depression as well recently which may have caused my appetite to go down drastically but when it comes back I start to eat a lot and it doesn't seem like I can gain weight like I used too.
Avatar n tn Keep in mind you could gain weight on Zoloft or any ssri, and your weight gain on Paxil has been minimal -- I gained 50 pounds over several years on it. And be careful going off it, it can be difficult. Do it slowly and carefully.
Avatar f tn SSRIs are notorious for weight gain, but Prozac has less of a weight gain potential (compared to say Paxil). Your weight gain may be natural - over the course of 20 years. Or it may be the result of the Prozac. But 2-3 pounds per year to gain from an SSRI is not very much. I was on Lexapro for 2-3 years and gained nearly 40 pounds in that time.
Avatar f tn It does make sense to take Abilify during the day if its keeping a person awake at night as it can be activating. If not it won't make a difference as regards weight gain. Abilify is the least likely out of the antipsychotics to cause weight gain. I have posted about the antipsychotics in development that won't do this but they still are not approved medications yet. If you were diagnosed with bipolar with psychotic features you need an antipsychotic.
Avatar n tn I read some articles about this just yesterday and was surprised, for I take Lantus and have noticed no weight gain at all. So this could be a factor. However, a change in metabolism in middle age probably is the real culprit, along with possibly a slower metabolism because you are not eating. Exercise should help both problems. Start walking! Park your car further from the door, take stairs instead of elevators, etc. Or use your lunch hour to do some mild exercise right in your office.
Avatar f tn Look up weight gain according to BMI and it will give you a good idea on the amount of weight you should gain according to your body type.
Avatar f tn s say chips just junk food you and baby are going to gain weight and the more you gain weight harder it will get when baby comes out so just watch what you eat..
195469 tn?1388322888 A lot of MSers report weight gain, and I think the fatigue just leads to inactivity, and of course, inactivity brings weight. If only we could turn down the volume on hunger. I'm not about to take amphetamines or whatever does this, but I'd sure like to find some natural solution. Ideas, anyone?
Avatar m tn i have hyperthyroid.. is there any bad impact of taking avacado for trying to gain weight?
Avatar f tn All ssris and snris have as a main side effect weight gain. It doesn't happen to everyone, but it might be happening to you. As for wellbutrin, that's more of an antidepressant only, and can cause additional anxiety. Might not, but it might. And it, too, might cause weight gain. cj is right, you'll have to be especially careful about your diet and exercise, and even then you might have weight gain; I did. Sometimes it's a choice between feeling good and looking good.
Avatar f tn I wouldn't worry. If you are of average body weight they say you are to gain 25-35lbs. I'm 5"1 and gained 36 total with this last pregnancy and my doctor was happy with that amount and I'm a little over weight.
