Common Questions and Answers about Clean eating and wine

Avatar n tn I have told people over and over about my experiences with ambien (sleep driving, sleep eating, and hair loss). It made me lose all grips on reality. It also destroyed me physicall and mentally. I wished I would have never heard of the c r a p. I have been clean from it for 6 months and I hope I never experience anything like it again. It was my fault because I wasn't taking it as prescribed. Whatever you do, only take one at bedtime.
Avatar m tn   I had an ultrasound done in May 2017 which showed a fatty liver, so I stopped drinking at the end of July and started eating right and exercising.   I got a fibroscan done on the 26th of October 2017 by a Hepatologist and the reading was 3.9 Kpa and he said no damage, but Within the last  2 months I have had a couple of major traumas, which has sent me on a  8 week binge of 10-12 lagers a day (very irresponsible I know). Could this have caused me to develop cirrhosis in this time?
Avatar n tn Hey mummies, I'm 9 weeks now and was wondering if drinking a glass of wine from time is ok and won't harm the baby or is it so strict that even this glass is extremly forbidden? I'm not saying about getting drunk of course. I've read some mummies posts with them saying that it's safe to have randomly a small amount of alcohol and it's fine and still the babies were born otally healthy.
1032715 tn?1315984234 Clean 160 days,no alcohol and no codeine feeling strong and getting stronger.
8744108 tn?1411750437 I wouldn't risk it. Doctors have no idea how much alcohol it will take for it to harm your baby. Some women drink a lot and their babies are fine and some women drink one glass of wine and the baby has issues. Don't risk it.
Avatar f tn I do however - have the occasional glass of champagne or wine... In fact last night - I had 2 and a half flutes of champagne - and have a headache for it right now. GRRR. I've NEVER been a drinker at all - we're talking maybe 2 bottles of wine a year total... Or maybe a mixed drink (think margarita) if I go out with the girls - but I always tell the bartender to go light on the alcohol.
Avatar f tn For BP this will mean regular exercise (daily), weight normalization if you are overweight, and eating an unprocessed low carb, moderate protein and high (healthy) fats diet. Medication should be used if lifestyle measures alone cannot control the bp. For diabetes, it is critical that you keep your blood sugars as close to normal as possible. Normal is Hba1c of < 5.0, fasting blood sugar in the 80s, and post eating blood sugars not higher than 120.
3129624 tn?1366029908 Based on my own past experience, they have over the counter sleeping aids, like Unisom, they claim not to be habit forming like Ambien, but be careful with any sleeping aids, Maybe only take a few and dump the rest. I remember sleep would come and go for 2 weeks when i was getting clean. I took tylenol PN which helped only on nights where i really needed to sleep..
Avatar f tn GoPens66 Thank you for your post. I'm 6 days clean and am feeling all those things you mention and I'm sooooo tired! How long did this stage last for you? Wishing you continued success.
Avatar m tn A patient woke up in the night , with painful contracted diaphragm , could not breath without intense pain ,lowest ribs felt constricted , shortness of breath , then felt this tingling feeling around entire heart like a capsule of tightness, after heavy night of eating indian take away and a bottle of red wine
Avatar m tn I do have a hiatal hernia and have noticed that my SVT seems to be provoked by eating and the vagus nerve. If I move my neck a certain way, or lean back in my chair, pressing on my spine, I seem to get an irregular rhythm. There is a definite correlation. Has anyone ever tried Proton Pump Inhibitors to relieve episodes of SVT? Someone on another forum said that Gasx works for them.
Avatar n tn I apologized after we got home ( but I was so abusive in my comments that she left dinner without me and I walked home alone), and she accepted and understood my issues and all is good.
Avatar f tn Its actually ok to have a beer or glass of wine. It helps clean out the kidneys. I did it a little with my first and this is my second and I've had one here and there...
Avatar n tn I don't understand how alcohol can cause hypoglycemina in diabetics. It seems to me that it would cause hyperglycemia because of the sugar in the alcohol. I just heard a story of an adult who passed out twice because she had wine after taking insulin. Her blood sugar was 175 when she took her insulin and within 15 minutes she was passed out.
Avatar f tn I would perhaps cut down on the wine drinking, evaluate your diet, and add in more exercise (and a good multi vitamin) and see if that has any effect. And remember, any time we want to lose weight, it's best to go slow. And it will feel REALLY slow at first. Don't get discouraged. Do you think the Zoloft is helping? You are on a really low dose. If you generally feel it is effective for you, then it is a toss up if you want to risk going off it or not.
531684 tn?1216745984 Has anyone dramatically altering their diet? Has it helped? How about chewing everything to a liquid form and eating/drinking very very slowly.... anyone tried that? If so, has it helped? Here's the theory: The liver effects anxiety and it also keeps us calm. For proof, look at how bad things are after a night of serious drinking. Liver tries to breakdown the alcohol and does less to keep us relaxed and on-balance.
455051 tn?1255826518 My dayjob is substance abuse counselor....sober/clean 24 yrs.......i have seen the effects of alcohol/drugs on kids...and i have seen the ugliness of FAS with kids......a baby doesn't ask for a drink of wine or any booze for that matter!
Avatar n tn hello and i was wondering if anyone could help me to figure out why my heat beat is over 100 after i eat . Its been over 3 hours and its still high and so is my blood pressure.

Avatar f tn Im 35 weeks today and I've been craving a glass of red wine. However I'm a bit afraid to indulge for fear of harming my little one. So my question is have any of you had a glass of wine throughout your pregnancy???
Avatar f tn The point of this site is to be able to about whatever topic you want while pregnant. Why are some women being so judgemental? One beer will not do anything to harm the baby, chill out. I think it's a reasonable question, I've often wondered the same. When we were in our moms bellies, they still drank and we all came our just fine.
