She has been prescribed with Mox 250mg( Amoxycillin capsules), Maclar 250mg( Clarithromycin), omeprazole tabs. Will it be sufficient for the cure with regular dosage or please suggest any additional measure.
I have just competed a course of clarithromycin, and continue to have nausea, salivation, and a gnawing feeling in my stomach. These symptoms are very similar to those I had while pregnant, ie morning sickness, but all day.
I finished the drug 3 days ago.
Will these symptoms ever stop?
Clarithromycin isn't the treatment of choice for any STD. However, it would effectively prevent most cases of gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). But not all.

Hi, if your concerned about chlamydia get tested 7 days post exposure and Clarithromycin is an antibiotic so it may have a positive effect on chlamydia but you would need to talk to you doctor about this as depends on dosage.
Another report describes two fatal cases of agranulocytosis due to presumed interaction between colchicine and clarithromycin, a potent CYP450 3A4 inhibitor. Risk factors include mild liver function test abnormalities in one patient and end-stage renal failure in the other. There is not too much info on Clarithromycin and STD's out there. I know one thing it is sure working on my respiratory infection big time.

He had some left over clarithromycin 500 mg about 10 days worth and he began taking that. I told him he should just get tested but he dosent have insurance currently and is unemployed. He said even if I have an std clarithromycin should clear it up its a very strong anti-bacterial antibiotic. Is this true?
About a month ago I was prescribed a course of Clarithromycin for a skin infection. Since taking the drug I've suffered huge surges of adrenaline, which kicks in like a lighting shot at the point of sleep. It kept me away many nights and I was beside myself with worry. It's now more than three weeks since I stopped the medication (I only completed 2.5 days out of 7) and I find that the adrenaline surges have subsided somewhat.
Hi, I was diagnosed with a sinus infection a few weeks ago and prescribed a z-pack, which I took with no issues. I am still feeling the symptoms in my sinuses so I went to the Dr last week and was prescribed Amoxicillin. About 20 mins after taking it I had this strange sensation on my lip...like a tingling/itching feeling and became itchy all over. I called the Dr and she prescribed Clarithromycin. I have no signs of any symptoms on my penis. Yesterday 3/20/09 I was prescribed clarithromycin er 500 for 7 days for a sinus infection. After reading a lot on the internet it appears that EVERY STD can be obtained through oral sex which I was not aware. If I were your patient, what advice would you recommend? She said it was not possible oral swab to be done at that clinic (just genital). She decided to start a treatment (clarithromycin and ceftriaxone) for gonorrhea (without testing and diagnosis). I hope it works if I have oral gonorrhea. Sorry to bother you. I am just worried.
Hi my name is jennifer I been taking antibiotics for the past 2 weeks, Omeprazole 20 mg, Metronidazole 500 mg and Clarithromycin 500 mg and also I been taking my birth control pills for the past 3 weeks (Jolivette).
I jus found out today I am pregnant. I'm concer with the health of the unborn baby. I am worry if the any possibility of births defects and any other problem related to the medications.
I have found that biaxin is chemically different than azithromycin but biologically same at killing bacteria as azithromycin. On some post you say that azithromycin or clarithromycin(biaxin) would cure all the bacterial stds then in others you state that there could be some problems.
