Anyway I saw the consultant at exactly 3 weeks after the pneumonia diagnosis and 3 different antibiotics (clarithromycin, co-amoxyclav and another one beginning with T - can't remember!) anyway I had an X-ray and the consultant has said there is an abnormality on my lung and I have a CT scan booked tomorrow and follow up with the consultant on Tuesday. So now I am really anxious and getting worried that I have lung cancer or something.
Pylori am in my fourth day of my medication of which includes clarithromycin, pantoprazole sodium and amoxicillin. Like I said, my bowel at times appears like dark coffee grinds. I did take some vitamin C and a multivitamin the other day which I guess may have triggered the burping, however, the vitamin C was to have been non acidic gels. Also notice that I'm constantly having to clear my throat and at times experience breathing problems, like I can't get enough air in lungs.
this persisted several months until i developed an acute infection and was diagnosed with pneumonia and given 2 weeks of clarithromycin, when i visited the hospital i was told that my blood test indicated the presence of a bacterial infection. the pneumonia symptoms did not completely resolve so i was given another 2 weeks of clarithromycin which seemed to resolve the coughing to a manageable level. after this point the coughing gradually declined until it stopped completely.
I took 1500mg of Clarithromycin ER, and 1875mg of Amoxicillin that night. The following morning took another 1gm of the Clarithromycin ER & 1375mg of Amoxicillin. Still on Day 2 (only 24 post exposure) took 500mg Clarithromycin ER. The next day, today took Amoxicillin 500mg & Clarithromycin ER 500mg & Ceftiaxone 1gm IV (prefer not to explain but I am in healthcare).
Exactly two days after this, I came down with a sore throat, ear infection and cough. The doctor said I have pneumonia and an ear that is "so infected it's gross." I am taking albuterol, clarithromycin and mucinex.
Luckily, the guy that I slept with said that he had gotten an HIV test a few months ago and tested negative, and always uses condoms. I consulted some internet resources, which said that the antibiotic that I'm on is very common for people with HIV.
Hi, I am a 25y male living in the UK. I don't smoke or drink as of Nov 2016 I was suffering with what I thought was a very bad cold/flu. Several trips the GP with very little success or sympathy it wasn't until I started coughing up blood and having very bad chest pains (This was in Jan 2017) after a chest x-ray I was advised to go to the hospital as they found a 42mm cavity lesion on my upper right lobe.
But here is my question. I ended up with a respiratory infection and the Doc gave me Clarithromycin, I have to take 2X 500mg a day for ten days. I started the medication the day of the sexual encounter.
Will Clarithromycin help clear up any of the STD's that I might have caught during the act?
There is not too much info on Clarithromycin and STD's out there. I know one thing it is sure working on my respiratory infection big time.

HIV symptoms firstly, will not be seen ny you because you did not have an exposure to,, and secondly, they do not appear after 2 and 8 months of exposure.
Clarithromycin isn't the treatment of choice for any STD. However, it would effectively prevent most cases of gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). But not all.
Antibiotics, including clarithromycin, have no effect on viruses and therefore cannot prevent herpes, HPV, or HIV.
He had some left over clarithromycin 500 mg about 10 days worth and he began taking that. I told him he should just get tested but he dosent have insurance currently and is unemployed. He said even if I have an std clarithromycin should clear it up its a very strong anti-bacterial antibiotic. Is this true?
I have bronchitis with a severe cough I am taking 50mg cortisone a day I am not able to cut down yet as the cough is too severe. It's been around 4 weeks since it started as a sore throat and moved down to my chest am taking antibiotics Clarithromycin 250mg & Doxycycline Monohydrate (50mg), Rikodeine or Codeine cough suppressant, Symbicort inhaler. I'm not sleeping well a couple of hours here and there and I'm exhausted, am severely constipated.
Mepron/atovaquone and Zithromax/azithromycin for Babesiosis first, then when that was extinct, Biaxin/clarithromycin and Omnicef/cefidnir for Lyme. Took 15 months, start to finish. Overt symptoms had been few, mainly tiredness but not the crushing fatigue others of us have had. Tests were initially run on the family only at my stubborn insistence, and I was dead-dog sick with the same things, Lyme and Babesiosis. Go figure.

I am aware of CDC guidelines and think that this single dose of rocephin & a total of 5gm of Biaxin over 4-5 days (in place of Azithromycin) should be effective? I jus found out today I am pregnant. I'm concer with the health of the unborn baby. I am worry if the any possibility of births defects and any other problem related to the medications.
She said it was not possible oral swab to be done at that clinic (just genital). She decided to start a treatment (clarithromycin and ceftriaxone) for gonorrhea (without testing and diagnosis). I hope it works if I have oral gonorrhea. Sorry to bother you. I am just worried.
Some syphilis bacteria are resistant to all macrolide antibiotics -- azithromycin, clarithromycin (Biaxin), and erythromycin. These strains are common in some geographic areas and apparently absent in others. Unfortunately, the technology to determine resistance is complex and expensive, and therefore data are not available from most geographic areas.
But even then, some medicines just plain taste really bad. I remember one time I had pneumonia one Christmas, and it took me two years to get to where I could eat turkey dressing again, because I associated the taste with how sick I was.
If you were having a reaction to the medicine, it would not be taste that would bother you. You would not be able to breathe or you might break out in a rash or your heart rate would go waaaaay up. It's like having a fit of asthma or coughing.
My mother (51 years) has been diagnosed with antral gastritis and also got a positive result for the presence of Helicobacter Pylori. She has been prescribed with Mox 250mg( Amoxycillin capsules), Maclar 250mg( Clarithromycin), omeprazole tabs. Will it be sufficient for the cure with regular dosage or please suggest any additional measure.

chlamydia (both the STD and the lung infection, though they have nothing to do with each other) and mycoplasma pneumonia. I believe this type of antibiotics are named macrolid antibiotics (roughly translated from my language).
Tetracyclin works against the mentioned infections and I don't think it causes prolonged QT.
Your concern is real, but I would assume your doctor would have considered this. Anyway, ask him.
Hi I started triple therapy for h pylori last Tuesday evening. Amxocilian and clarithromycin are my two antibiotics, two x's daily for 10 days. I was scheduled to start my period yesterday (Sunday)5 days after taking the antibiotic pills and have not be late for over two years of taking the pill. I am taking Ortho tri cyclen. I also came down with a cold yesterday. Is it normal to be late?
