Avatar f tn Your symptoms sound like the withdrawal effects are masking the positive effects of the wellbutrin...did you wean yourself slowly or just stop...if you just stopped, you might go back on small dose for a week, then wean yourself over next two weeks, every other day for week two, and every third week for week three.
Avatar n tn Did you go off the medication quickly and get withdrawal symptoms? It is very important that you come off these types of meds slowly so that you don't get withdrawal symptoms. Have you tried taking probiotics? What are your current symptoms?
Avatar m tn The depressive mood comes and goes! But I wonder if I stop taking it gradually will there be withdrawal symptoms? Is there dependency on this medicine? I was thinking for instance to decrease it 5mg every two weeks or a month.
Avatar m tn s difficult for me to even write this question in an articulate and concise fashion. I expected to feel emotional side effects from the withdrawal of citalopram, such as irritability and depression. But these physical sensations, such as dizziness, distant-mindedness, and a general feeling of being "impregnated in the head" are all very unexpected. Has anyone experienced similar withdrawal symptoms from either of these medications?
Avatar n tn ve read has been to go back on the med at the dose you were on before you experienced the withdrawal or discontinuation symptoms. And then taper more slowly. And sometimes even use klonopin as cover for the last week. People have mentioned zero or low fee places you can go to for medical advice. Another member recently asked about accessing free medication. You could always check out the doctor's response to that. (It had the word 'free' in the title).
15256956 tn?1439425231 Hi all! I'm new to these forums so let me give you some extended Cliff Notes. 39 year old male who has been struggling with Anxiety for 20 years, High Blood Pressure for 13, Diabetes for 3, and now, Sleep Apnea.
Avatar m tn t think you will have many withdrawal symptoms if you stop after such a short time. You may get some brain zaps and worse headaches until the medication has left your system. On the other hand, you may not feel anything at all. Just be prepared in case you get withdrawals.
1131131 tn?1275108488 t be concerned that much about withdrawal symptoms and surely your doctor would have make you taper off slowly but because of you bad reaction it is better to stop now. There are other ADs you can try such as the SNRIs ( Cymbalta, Effexor ) or more GABA specific drugs like Lyrica or Neurotin. You must know one thing tho is that it takes time for the medication to take effect.
1110049 tn?1409402144 I think you'll get more responses on the anxiety and depression forums. I take it, but a low dose as I started tapering off a long long time ago and had to stop because of health problems that keep coming and I don't want to be in withdrawal facing them. It hasn't worked for me, but it was a long shot since my biggest problem now is what quitting Paxil did to me -- I didn't take it before that.
Avatar n tn I took Celexa for a few months then went off. I had horrible withdrawl type symptoms for about 3 weeks. After that I was fine! Hang in there, it will get better.
Avatar n tn Sudden withdrawal from venlafaxine can lead to the withdrawal symptoms you describe. It should not be discontinued suddenly, instead he should go down to 37.5mg for a time before coming off it. Or, his doctor might consider changing him to a different anti-depressant without as many withdrawal symptoms,(Prozac, citalopram ?) then coming off that. Venlafaxine (Exeffor) is usually prescribed for major depression, in emergencies, or when other anti-depressants have been ineffective.
308074 tn?1289687346 You have probably been experiencing withdrawal from the citalopram. These effects can last a week or two. However, if you started a new medication, you might now be experiencing the side effects from that. Side-effects from a new med typically subside in a week or so.
Avatar f tn I would not recommend Zoloft. On another Depression web site, there's a long thread about how bad the withdrawal symptoms are from it. I have chronic pain and I've done the opiate withdrawal and IT *****! I would like to get off my pain meds but it's either just been too hard or I have too much pain. Can't win, but less would be better. Therefore, the Zoloft my PCP doc recently prescribed I am not going to take.....took it for a week and then saw those posts! Wow!
Avatar f tn Hello, I have decided not to take them anymore, as i think they are contributing to this 'strange' feeling i am having and the vivid dreams too - i have only been taking them for a few weeks - do you think i can escape the withdrawal symptoms as i haven't been taking them for long? I have an appointment for counselling, so i hope this can help as an alternative and i have started taking Vitamin B, which i have heard is good for anxiety.
Avatar n tn Hi, I've been suffering with some problems with anxiety for a long time and more recently they have led me to depression. Months back before I started really feeling the depression my doctor had me try out 20 mg's of citalopram. I was on it for three months and really didn't feel a difference in myself, so I decided to go off them. I did have some trouble withdrawing as it was quite the pain in the ***.
Avatar f tn Tapering citalopram should be done by gradually reducing you dose. I would do this very slowly to avoid any bad withdrawal symptoms. Reducing a quarter of your dose each 2 weeks should work. Note that you should combine the tapering with supplements such as magnesium and omega-3 (fish oil), choline/B complex vitamins.
1128565 tn?1316721143 Hi All its Lorraine The specialist changed my antidepressant from 150mg's venlafluxine to 20 mg's of citalopram. I am feeling really tired and every night my legs are aching off me, last night I didn;t sleep much as I was having palpitations. Can anyone relate to this? Good job we've got these sites, or we'd go mad!!
497348 tn?1283436066 Some patients may experience withdrawal reactions upon stopping citalopram.
Avatar f tn I've been prescribed to citalopram and am still reducing my dosage of clonazepam(due to seizures). Is it safe to take the two together or should I wait until I'm completely off the clonazepam? I have no allergies that I'm aware of. My doctor was super busy and I forgot to ask if I should stop the clonazepam. Any help is appreciated.
Avatar f tn I have suffered with anxiety and depression for the past year and have been taking 40mg of Citalopram. The past couple of months I have been feeling fantastic but the past week I am starting to feel down and like there is no point to anything again. The only thing I can think is I missed 2 days of my Citalopram and I have been taking it sporadically instead of the same time every day, I'm skipping a day here and there! Could that be the reason?
1128565 tn?1316721143 Sometimes it's hard to tell what's symptoms of withdrawal and what's a return of symptoms of depression. What you are experiencing can be classic anxiety/depression symptoms. What is dolsulipin? Can't seem to find it. Going back on effexor may make you better but you still won't know whether it was withdrawal or the illness causing your problems.
Avatar f tn Hello there, For the abbreviation question it's a bit tricky on two of em since i don't know in what context they were used but i can sure give you some answers there.

Avatar n tn You really want to get new meds cause the withdrawl gets worse! I've been there. It wasn't pretty.
Avatar f tn Did you, by any chance, miss a dose of citalopram? I have heard of "brain shock" symptoms from people who were going through withdrawal on other SSRIs.
Avatar f tn what effect can you get when stop taking binovum and citalopram as i have been experiencing some side effect and was wondering if its because of the tablets
