celexa

Avatar f tn I took Citalopram for a long time without any side effects, 20 mg, although I was more comfortable with 10 mg. I have anxiety about taking drugs-go figure. It takes about 3 weeks to get the full effect of the drug and feel relief from symptoms. If you felt better at 10 mg, you might want to stay there. Just give it time to work--about another week for you. The xanax should help into the Citalopram kicks in. Hang in there.
697574 tn?1273955747 The manufacturer has by law to list all known side-effects on their product data sheets, even rare side-effects. Remember many people get through their treatment without suffering any major side-effects and hopefully this will be the case with you. So I would relax and forget it. If you worry about a decrease in libido, you'll definitely get a decrease in libido!
671285 tn?1292660161 Many of the symptoms you experienced are potential side effects of Celexa (aka Citalopram), namely agitation, anxiety, fatigue, drowsiness, sweating, and panic. There is no question that you did the right thing in immediately notifying your doctor of these side effects and I'm glad you did. While it is unfortunate that your experience with Celexa was a negative one, it is important not to generalize your experience to all antidepressants.
Avatar n tn m not big on side effects and all that. I have been taking paxil for 4 days now and on day two I realized that I was yawning so much that my jaw was starting to hurt (yawn) I cant stop. Im really really tired and the yawning is getting quite annoying. Is this normal and when does It usually stop? Im also obese weighing in at 257.4 lbs with only a 5'2" height. I heard alot about paxil making you gain weight. I dont want that. Im trying to become healthy.

769503 tn?1238496321 Citaloporam takes 2-3 weeks, give or take, to reach therapeutic levels and side effects may be present during this time. Any concerns about side effects should be brought to the attention of his doctor. There ARE some cases where the side effects are just too difficult for someone to manage and that's when a dffferent med should be tried..............
Avatar m tn One of the side effects of this particular antidepressant fluoxetine is excessive yawning. Read the leaflet that comes with the medication and you will read it in the side effects section.

Avatar m tn The Doc wants me to take citalopram for stress. What is the most common side effect?

Avatar n tn ve been on citalopram (including myself) and there was no weight gain. However, weight gain is listed under possible side effects, so it does happen to some people. But it's not like mood stabilisers, where the weight gain is very likely. I wouldn't worry about it. Most things that are listed under the side effects of any given drug are very rare.
387767 tn?1345872027 Hi, I am posting this for my 21 yr. old son. He is in college and he had extreme anxiety and depression and was put on Cymbalta. He's been taking it for about a month. He complains to me that he yawns constantly, is really drowsy, almost to the point where he falls asleep at random times and it's upsetting him. However, his anxiety and depression are much better. I looked up the side effects of Cymbalta and these are not very common ones, so I don't know what to tell him.
Avatar f tn I want to keep going and get back to my normal, but the side effects are scary. I have two small kids to take care of and am afraid of the side effects getting even more in the way of taking care of them. Please, any stories to help me on my way would be greatly appreciated! Thanks you so much!
Avatar f tn s now been 4 weeks since I took my last citalopram and nothing has changed. How long can the side effects from the citalopram affect the Wellbutrin?
Avatar f tn I had the same issues when I first started taking levothyroxine. Everyone kept telling me that the levo doesn't cause side effects, but I felt like I drank about 25 cups of coffee when I took it! That was 50mcg, my doctor kept increasing the dosage because my TSH was so high. Between 300 and 800. with every increase I just felt worse. I have Hashimoto's Encephalopathy which is a lot different from HD, but still effects the thyroid.
732401 tn?1231613448 I have never taken the med, but have taken Klonopin. I'm terrified of taking any med, even aspirin's. But each individuals body chemistry is different and the only way to know, how you will react to a med is take it, some have great experiences, while others not so good, share the pro's and con's with your doctor. If this med does not work out for you, then you can try others, till you find the right medication to treat your symptoms.

915119 tn?1341948989 Ok, I'm currently taking Citalopram 20mg once a day. I started on this medication about a week ago. I have noticed that for the last couple of days I have been excessively yawning and I looked it up and it said there are some health problems that cause it. Now I am super worried. Can my depression medication cause this excessive yawing, or should I worry? Please, anyone, more information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn The sex drive is good to know. Citalopram also gave me that side effect. I am glad the Wellbutrin did not make you gain weight. I wonder how long until it is out of my system. The doctor said if i quit cold turkey on Citalopram, it can cause bad side effects. That's why I am taking half a pill of it. I know you are not a doctor, or maybe you are, but how long until you think the Citalopram is out of my system? Thanks!
