1767754 tn?1313873884 It came back positive for bppv, but the doc also said it showed some CNS stuff. I wondered if this was the case for you or for anyone else taking citalopram--if it can cause nerve stuff.
Avatar f tn Thought I was going to breeze through this, but...getting really moody. Started crying today and didn't want to stop. Felt kinda good being on the pity box, but the question here is should I ask my doc about AD's? I don't really want to take them, but I have four more months to go. I read it takes the meds a while to kick in. Maybe it will pass.
Avatar m tn Both citalopram, (Celexa) and escitalopram, (Lexapro) are SSRI's and both have, as unlabeled uses the control of panic. They both also have CNS side effects of anxiety in the beginning stages of treatment. You say you've been on the citalopram for approximately 5 weeks? It can take up to 35 days for citalopram to reach "steady state" in your blood, which means you won't begin to feel any real relief from your depresson for possibly a bit over a month.
769503 tn?1238496321 Hi there, my 28 year old son has been given the drug citaloporam for anxiety disorder. Has anyone else been taking this. He is very wary because of the side effects. But cannot function without some help. It is sad at this age that people have to rely on drugs. Can anyone help us. Kind regards.
Avatar f tn I would susggest you ask the neurologist to refer you to a neuro-ophthalmologist for evaluation. With symptoms for 5 years it is not at all likely due to a threat to your life or vision.
Avatar f tn I am waiting for results from my MRI, my doctor is not very helpful and thinks its all in my head, why would I waste my time and doctors time if this is all in my head. This is making me depressed and taking over my life, I am currently taking Citalopram for depression just to get me through the day. Can somone shed some light on these symptoms??? Thanks Sarah.
1139187 tn?1355706647 I am hypothyroid, but my symptoms are out of line for being barely hypo. They think the citolpram will help me get through these symptoms, but I'm afraid I'll be more tired...
Avatar f tn I have been on the wellbutrin for about 7 weeks now and off the citalopram for a little over 1 week. Im having a completely different experience than I did before. No dry mouth or weight loss instead headaches, ringing in my ears, clenched jaw, continued weight gain and irritability. Is this a different reaction to the wellbutrin or due to the combination of the two drugs? The headaches are more recent so I figured they may be withdrawal from the citalopram.
Avatar n tn How old are you, how is your health otherwise ,have you had any sweats or hot Flushes, anything differant.Wree your periods regular before ,they usually begin by being heavy, before they lighten, and one month you have a period then another month not.It varies with differant Women.
105323 tn?1250103506 I've been on citalopram for almost 18 years now without any side effects. It helps with my anxiety.
1131131 tn?1275108488 I had the same problem with Citalopram (Celaxa). The same symptoms after 2 doses of 10mg. The shaking was so bad I had trouble talking (stuttering), and suicidal thoughts. My doctor took me off them immediatley. I am not talking any meds and it took 5 days for the symptoms to go down to being manageable. I am on Prilosec which I believe interacted with this drug. The doc said no but I found on wikipedia it states ....
Avatar f tn I am seeing the nurse practicianer (SP?) today for a med check. They told me not to take the citalopram last night and see how it goes. I work with the worst panic attack this morning. I am feeling a little lost and hopeless as to what to do now.
443862 tn?1237999439 There are several tests they need to run to check for that, not just a TSH I also went to GYN in case it could be peri menopause. I am 45, Still having periods. He wrote me rx for estrace. My FSH was within normal range. He said that really didn't mean anything I read that if you have your uterus you should not take this. Has your dr wanted to start you on some HRT?
Avatar f tn Hello everyone I started having severe anxiety attacks two month ago, though I have suffered with anxiety my whole life. I have been on Citalopram for four days now and the side effects seems to be increasing. I am on a small dose, one quarter of a 20 mg tablet. I am suppose to go up to one half of a 20 mg tab today but am afraid to. I am jittery, have headaches, am groggy but panic when I try to sleep, have heat flashes through my upper body, my eyes feels strange...the list goes on.
Avatar n tn Hi there, im currently on 20 mg of Citalopram for my anxiety. Does anybody else have this wierd thing where they wake up and feel a little confused or disoriantated? i do. if anybody has any advise that would be great..
363281 tn?1643235611 I just copied a list of all anxiety symptoms, you will be amazed.
Avatar f tn Consult a neurologist for investigation of these symptoms. Multiple sclerosis has multiple symptoms and signs and is a diagnosis of exclusion. The symptoms of multiple sclerosis are loss of balance, muscle spasms, numbness in any area, problems with walking and coordination, tremors in one or more arms and legs.
Avatar f tn The sister drug to Citalopram is Lexapro, which I have been prescribed for depression, but only because I am on 2 mg per day of Xanax, which is the common medication for panic attacks and anxiety. Xanax is in the class of drugs known as "depressants", which obviously will make you "depressed" thus continuing the 3 ring circus of meds, one to depress you , another to fight the depression, and so on.
