I've been prescribed to citalopram and am still reducing my dosage of clonazepam(due to seizures). Is it safe to take the two together or should I wait until I'm completely off the clonazepam? I have no allergies that I'm aware of. My doctor was super busy and I forgot to ask if I should stop the clonazepam. Any help is appreciated.
My doctor prescribed me nortriptyline and citalopram together, and people I know in the medical community tell me this is a bad combo, that they shouldnt be prescribed together. Is this correct?
She took me off the citalopram and changed me to the paxil generic. She also wants me to take clonazepam at bed to try and help me sleep. I took thepaxil last night and .25 clonazepam. I woke up slightly less paniced, but still couldn't sleep. She also ordered blood work, which I got this morning. I am a little nauseous and threw up.
I take a clonazepam at night for restless and OTC unison and I cannot drive in the morning because I fall asleep. I am 85 I sleep till about 4:00 is it the medicines I take. I never had this before. So my questions are: why did my ekg say possible biatrial enlargment and the echo came back normal?
hi i am in the uk and my psychiatrist is unwilling to prescribe clonazepam. its the only thing that helps me with my anxiety. is it really that unsafe to take it for a long time? i read on other forums that people take it for years.
s hard to get proper attention and care, I have been battling depression and GAD for a few years now and I am currently prescribed Zoloft 100mg and clonazepam .5mg but they just don't seem effective anymore. I have been trying to make an appointment with someone...anyone for months with no luck they are always too full and it's just getting worse as the days go by.
Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine and it is prescribed for people that have panic attacks. It is akin to Xanax but clonazepam (Klonopin) takes a little longer to work but it stays in your system longer. I take 1 mg every night to sleep so it will make you tired. Sometimes I felt a little loopy too so you need to take it on a day that you are home and see how it affects you. How often were you told to take it?

I've been on Effexor XR 150 for 5 yrs. Ins. won't pay for it now. When I go off
of it I get these (electrical zaps, zings) in my ears and head. Is this what you mean by head zaps? I had to go from Effexor right to Citalopram 20mg. It's been 2 days on Citalopram and I am starting to hear these head zings. Should I
ask for a larger dose or increase # of times I take it a day?
I can't function with these zings going on.
I entered all of the drugs at once and found no interactions between the Psych meds and the Hep C meds except minor interactions between Citalopram and the Protease Inhibitors. Also a warning about seisure risk with Wellbutrin and Pegasys, but many of us are on those 2 meds and we are fine. They just want it monitored.
Of course, because I entered al of them at once, reactions between the psych meds showed up, but you would not taking all of them anyway, just one and the Hep C meds.
I gained about 30 lbs on Citalopram. I work out and eat healthy. I just saw a new doctor and he believes the Citalopram is causing my weight gain. I have been on it for about 18 months. I am now taking half a pill of Citalopram in order to wean myself off of it. My doctor then prescribed me Bupropion HCL (take twice a day). He says that should help with weight loss. Has anyone had good experiences with Bupropion? Did you gain weight on Citalopram? Thanks!!!
13 years ago, I suffered from anxiety and panic attacks and my doctor put me on clonazepam. Eventually it was combined with Effexor, which is an antidepressant. In years to follow, the dosage of clonazeam got higher and higher until I was up to 4mgs per day. What I didn't realize was that I had just masked the problem and that I was entering a world that I had no control over.
VE BEEN TAKING 40MG OF CITALOPRAM IN THE AM ... AND 1 MG OF CLONAZEPAM AT NIGHT TO HELP WITH SLEEP ALONG WITH 10MG OF MELATONIN.
A week after taking citalopram I was concerned with my still high heart rate, it seemed to rest at 96-120BPM so went to ED, they took an ECG and it was sinus tachycardia of 154BPM I was monitored for 2 days and on one ECG they saw an episode of SVT and started me on Sotalol and stopped amitriptyline and citalopram, this lowered my heart rate but increased chest discomfort and palpitations.
I began seeing a therapist whom I really enjoyed and through talk and 20Mg of Citalopram, my issues were resolving nicely. We also determined I had a mild case of OCD. I was also given Zolpidem to take on occassion if I felt the need.
In 7/2010, I had to move back to my elderly parents to care for them, as they are both terminally ill. My Mother had stage 5-6 Alzheimer's and my Father has Pulmonary Fibrosis. I was allowed to work from home.
so where u on 4mg a day of ativan and now u swtiched to clonazepam? if so i think the taper/addition of klonopin/lclonazepam has to be done miticulously. ask RCA/Ryan about this. he as schedules for things like this and for tapering successfully. i know valium is used alot to get people off of clonazepam along with a taper schedule. i'm pretty sure the klonopin isn't causing the shakiness and sweating. it's either withdrawls from the ativan or your underlying anxiety returning.
I take Effexor with Clonazepam. I take 1 mg of clonazepam in the morning together with Effexor and my anxiety is stable all day long. I even went through a separation which would not be possible if i stayed on my previous meds such as celexa and paxil.
You can take Clonazepam before zoloft why not? But if zoloft doesn't work ask your doctor about effexor. Just be carefull because effexor shouldn't be mixed with other antidepressants. Do it only under your doctors supervision.
5 mg of clonazepam and its now not helping my panic attacks or anxiety, it is not working at all. All of the added symptoms are making my anxiety and depresson out of control. Its the weekend so my doctors ofc is closed. Can you guide me in the right direction, bc the withdrawl is overbearing and quite scary.
Combining Alprax and Citalopram can cause central nervous system and respiratory depressant effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients. Please discuss with your doctor for alternate medications. In the meantime, I would strongly caution you not to drive or operate heavy machinery while on these medications as you might injure yourself or others.
