cipro

Avatar m tn So yes---In fact--since you brought it up--I have a new group called side effects of medications. Feel free to post your side effects there.
Avatar n tn Hello I'm wondering when it's safe to resume exercise after using the antibiotic ciprofloxacin. I do intense cardio (trail-running or versa-climber), and lift about three times per week, alternating days with sunday off. I'm in pretty good physical condition with the exception of a bulging L5-S1 disc and occasional sciatica on my right side.
Avatar n tn Cipro can cause tendon problems - some have torn or broken the achilles tendon by stepping down too hard while taking Cipro. You will usually feel that the tendon is hard as a rock - if you feel that, wait to exercise, until you have stopped taking the antibiotic. You may have to switch to a different antibiotic - see your doctor.
798555 tn?1292787551 Could anyone share any side effects they had and the herxing feel with these? The Dr said they can be tough on some people that was it nauseating , headaches, absolutely no alcohol ect. And what did you do to help cope with any side effects? It would help me to know what might possibly be around the corner for me so I can work thru it. I have to work regardless of how I feel (not an option), so your info will help me prepare getting thru the work day.
534810 tn?1213327718 Wondering if anyone out there has had any of these side effects? And what do you think of this? I am miserable w/all this discomfort. Today I had to have left wrist injected second time and had only been 5 months since before. Avatar n tn Hi, How are you? Common side effects of ciprofloxacin are stomach pain, headache, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset and restlessness. Rarely it can cause skin sensitivity to sunlight, rash, breathing difficulty etc. Vaginal discharge with odour and back pain are the manifestations of UTI. Since how long are you using ciprofloxacin? Feel free to ask if you have any more doubts. Take care.
Avatar f tn the problem is the abuse of some kind of antibiotics as first line when there are others with less side effects.....
Avatar m tn I have read a ton online about horrible side effects. I figure most people would post these types of stories rather than success stories. What is the truth? How safe should I feel taking this drug? I voiced my concern to my family doctor and he seems to back the drug. I took one pill and feel some slight side effects so far, but nothing extremely serious.
Avatar n tn irreversible peripheral neuropathy, tendonitis, tendon rupture, CNS disorders, bone marrow depression and many more. Ref. FDA website : Information for Healthcare Professionals.
Avatar m tn Both Cipro and Levaquin are drugs of a class known as quinolones. Of the two Cipro has the least side effects. The sore muscles may last for weeks or months or you may feel better in a few days. With that class of drugs there are ocasional reports of permanent tendon damage. This does not mean they should not be used. It is a matter of risk and benefit.
Avatar f tn or break. (I can no longer take corticosteroids because of the side effects they caused me. Including awakening with tendons so hard and painful I thought they would break if I stepped out of bed too hard.
Avatar m tn Hi and Welcome t o our Pain Management Forum. Levaquin is an excellant ATB (Antibiotic). However like many medications it comes with some risks and side effects. Form a trusted Web-site: "Levaquin is associated with an increased risk of tendon rupture or swelling of the tendon (tendinitis) in all ages. This risk is higher if you are over 60 years of age, are taking steroids (corticosteroid drugs), or if you have kidney, heart, or lung transplants" .....
867582 tn?1311627397 I will say that Cipro was, indeed, effective at zapping my infection. However, after reading about the many dangerous side effects of Cipro (which is a fluoroquinolone) I will say to everyone here (especially those over 60 and/or those on NSAIDs): Please, have your doctor consider a different antibiotic before using any that are in the fluoroquinolone category!!!
Avatar n tn J put out a blackbox warning a few years ago. However, I did not know of any side effects. Any comments or suggestions?
Avatar f tn t ever self-treat for an STD, since so many of them have similar symptoms, but really different treatments. Chlamydia has more effective treatments than cipro, and they have far fewer side effects.
Avatar f tn org/posts/STDs---STIs/Are-these-Azithromycin-and-Ciprofloxacin-side-effects/show/2996010# gardnerella also factor into the white tongue/lump in throat etc. (in addition to the antibiotics)? I cannot find a whole lot of information about gardnerella in men. On a side note, I am assuming the gardnerella was the cause of inflammation since I had tested negative for chlamydia and gonorrhea.
