I've been taking Ciprofloxacin for about a week. On tuesday I went to the gym for the first time in a while, and for the past few days my shoulder muscles have been sore. I saw on the instructions with my medicine that there's a risk of tendonitis while taking Ciprofloxacin, is this something I should be worried about? I wouldn't have exercised that much if I had known. The soreness has been getting steadily better.
Hi I've been prescribed a course of ciprofloxacin for an ear infection, however I notice that this medicine should not be taken alongside other medication containing iron or zinc. I've also been taking 400mcg of Tamsulosin regularly for Prostatisis. On checking the ingredients of my Tamsulosin Capsules I notice that it contains iron oxide and my question is will the combination be safe?

The sent me home with ciprofloxacin for 10 days and it didn't work. It may have started to work and I just needed more time idk. All I know is that I still have it and I want it fixed. If you can help me that would be wonderful.

Hi, there is possibility of furuncle in external canal of ear, try ciprofloxacin ear drops along with anti inflammatory drugs and hot compression. It could be mastoiditis which is infection of the mastoid process, temporal bone of the skull that is behind the ear. Other possibilty is neuropathy, could be occipital neuralgia. For mastoiditis, generally antibiotics are prescribed and for neuropathy pain killers like gabapentin, amitryptline are given.

Faecalis (please don't confuse with E. Faecium) this is a serious bacterial infection. It is highly resistant to Antibiotics. Both can easily be transmitted to your girlfriend. If it is isolated to your genitalia, it can be passed during unprotected intercourse. Please realize that I can only give my opinion online, consult your physician (in your case ASAP) for all medical conditions. These can be sexually transmitted, they reside in the Gastrointestinal tract. I wish you the best of luck!

I am a pharmacist myself so I am aware that they're exhausting alot of the obvious choices of antibiotics and nothing seems to be working. Hi Deek, If you think, what you are having in your ear is fungal infection then you should stop the Ciprofloxacin ear drops first as it will worsen your condition. Take some antihistaminics (for eg. Cetrizine/Fexofenadine) and meanwhile you can try with some antifungal ear drops (like Candid ear drops) but my sincere advice is to consult an ENT surgeon, in case it happens to be a fungal infection then the debris will have to be cleaned.
but I did do the water test at home and it seems that my body has a lot of yeast, was tested for strep throat, mono, seen a dentist since they specialize in the mouth, was givin' a type of mouthwash to rinse my mouth with for a duration of ten days, no change, went to see my GP who said it looked like I had a viral infection and proscribed me 105ML PMS NYSTATIN and CIPROFLOXACIN HYDROCHLORIDE 500MG, no change, still have my white tongue, the next thing I'll be doing is seeing an oral surgeon and
There was also a new symptom which was ear fullness every time i woke up in the morning. I after this got subscribed Ciprofloxacin again but which at this time didn't help at all. This is were i suspect there's a developed resistance. After that I got subscribed Erytromycine which also had no effect. A urine stick still shows infection. In this time something I had done over my life, playing around with the ear, sticking things in the ear, not just a ear bud, I could insert my finger inside the ear with ease,( left good ear my little finger cannot go in, right ear near all the way, ring finger at half, both I would use and I would scratch away, pull and twist. Also another important tidbit of information is, in the 6months before giving up. All happened around the same time.

All STD,UTI-tests were negative but I had a CRP of 84 and there was a visible infection in the urine. Doctors therefore subscribed me Doxycycline for 1 week which made the symptoms go away but they came back worse directly after the treatment was over. After that I got a 10 day treatment of Ciprofloxacin and the symptoms went away and everything was fine. After 1.5 Months later similar symptoms returned but instead of testicle pain it felt that it was more located in the left testicular tube.

Hi, It's good to hear from you with, especially with an answer to your brain explosion symptoms. If the ear infection has been present since November, it really needs to be evaluated by an ENT. I'm just curious why the MRI did not detect any ear related problem during that time. Nevertheless, it is good that there is already an answer to your problem. Take care and do keep us posted. Will be looking forward to your reply.
The diagnosis of osteomyelitis is a severe one with definite symptoms. You might have a residual infection from the old rct with the silver points. I would have this diagnosis checked by an oral surgeon because the treatment is aggressive and immediate.
About 3 months ago, I got a naval infection which also included a mysterious fleshy growth inside the belly button. My general care physician just froze it off and gave me local antibiotic for it. No problems since. Shortly thereafter, I noticed that upon waking up in the mornings, I would have a slightly weaker urine stream, accompanied by hesitancy. This still happens fairly regularly. For about the same length of time (about 2 months), I've had slightly flatter stools...
But most probably it looks to be a fungal infection - aspergillus infection called ABPA - allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis or even an aspergilloma. You need to discuss these possibilities with your chest physician and see what he has to say. You would be advised to get some more blood tests like serum precipitins, SErum IgE and IgG against aspergillus species etc and some skin allergy tests done for this fungal infection to reach a definite diagnosis.
Can Mastoiditis cause 'referred' symptoms like Eustachian Dysfunction, headache, dizziness, fatigue, and malaise? The area behind my ear is NOT tender, although the cartilage part of the affected ear canal does very occasionally feel a slight sharp pain and/or burning sensation. Here is some background: I suffered Otitis Media in late September, which was temporarily controlled by Amoxicillin.
With all this in mind, i believe strongly the itchy ear, crusty problem is YEAST INFECTION in the ear (but not for all cases). What the doctors say concern me not (i have had serveral okay ear checks since the problem began). Look, your health is in your own hands - take what the docs say with a grain of salt and backup their talk with your own research - you can be as "smart" as they are and you definately know your body better they do.
The sympoms were nasal congestion (although not quite as much as I expected), sore throat, myalgia, ear congestion, lethargy, barking cough (prominent symptom) and mild fever. I rested and had a couple of days off work and then returned. I felt much better for a few days but then all the symptoms returned. I was put on antibiotics - in the end I had courses of amoxycillin, ciprofloxacin, and then a month of doxycycline (GP was concerned I may have Lyme disease and test was not back yet).
