Typhoid is rare in developed countries...just out of curiosity do you know how you contracted it? People with typhoid Are normally hospitalized...especially pregnant women. I don't mean to sound rude but my goodness what is your doctor thinking?! I also don't know where you live (not everyone on this site is from US). This can be a life threatening illness to both mother AND baby....it can be transferred to baby.

I had to have a root canal redone as my previous dentist did not get the whole nerve and it became infected. In parallel, we did the semen analysis also at a Urology center. They have prescribed Ciprofloxacin 500mg for 14 days-2 dosage each day. At the moment I stopped taking thyroxine and taking only Cipro. Our worry is whether the hypothyrodism is causing issue in low fertility and motility or the infection in semen (for suggesting to take Ciprofloxacin) the main problem now? Is hypothyrodism resolved with the intake of Ciprofloxacin or are both different issues? Please clarify.

I contracted chlamydia towards the end of February. I was tested in the first week of march because I presented symptoms(only an constant itchy urethra). I received treatment(it was confirmed that I had chlamydia) on March 13 with one dose of Azithromycin. After 10 days passed and no relief from symptoms, on the 23rd of March I went back to the clinic and I was given a week course of doxycycline.

it seems ive been having sharp pains in my liver the past 2 weaks . it might not be the liver but its under, and oddly enough, above my ribs on my right abdomen. never had surgery there. had receieved typhoid about 4 weeks ago, that cleared up, and a few days later this happens. sounds like hepatitis because of the light case of typhoid. didnt have fever though. it doesnt hurt more when i press on it and theres no pressure, yet. anyone know if this is something to worry about?

it could be telogen effluvium(because of typhoid) but i am not sure whether a person has itching in telogen effluvium..yet the patches were formed after typhoid....there was an initially afftected area at the back of my head before typhoid..it was very less....but now the area has expanded...the crown is somewhat visible....as since i live in shimla.there are no trichologists here...should i visit some trichologist????.please suggest whom should i meet up for this problem..

can take in alcohol with this medication? is it ok?

Usually typhoid carriers don't have symptoms. Maybe a family member is a carrier and keeps re-infecting you? This is not a common disease in the US.

Regarding TB, the Montoux test and ESR can be high in many cases and need further follow up. Typhoid generally presents with high fever and GI symptoms like diarrhea. However it can present without these classical symptoms too. Hence the test is diagnostic. If in doubt, you can get the test repeated. Hope this helps. Hi, welcome to the forum, yes, the symptoms you have mentioned can be seen in typhoid fever. This can be confirmed by a test known as widal test which shows the raised titres of typhoid antigen. The skin manifestations can also be seen with allergic dermatitis but the fever and headache doesn't fit in the diagnosis. After the confirmation of the typhoid, ensure complete antibiotic therapy to prevent the relapse in the future.

A positive usually is 160 or higher for recent infection. Did you have a vaccine of typhoid in your life? This vaccine can cross react with this test. The high Eos short for the Eosinophil cells, and are high but not that high. But being high they are a sign of a parasitic infection or fungal infection not a bacterial. Usually your white blood cell count would be high. A better test would be to get a stool culture done and a blood culture. If you can.

After a week i was diagnose positive for typhoid fever. After medication from typhoid i was negative but still i have suffering same symptoms. It is possible that it is a HIV?
