is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.
Lately i have been having digestive problems, i have had diarrhea, and just loose stool, also i have had leg cramps that wake me up in the middle of the night for the past 3 nights straight, i'm always tired and often have fatigue, a lot of times i have nausea too. I get stomach cramps too and i'm underweight by a lot but i can eat almost 2500 calories a day and a healthy diet and not gain weight. i have gone to 2 doctors but none of them seem to know whats wrong.
I have been seeing a urologist since August. He treated me for my uniary Tract Infections I have been getting as they keep reoccuring. He hasn't done any test on me just culture my urine. The last time I went the doctor he said I had no infections or no growth. I went to the er few weeks ago due to pain in my vaginal area, and the er said it sounded like I had Interstitial Cycitis but he wasn't so sure but he gave me cipro 500mg and pryridium 200mg.
s removal I had difficulty passing urine (or totally blocked), swollen penis, discharge, dribbling and tender groin area. Diagnosed with a UTI and taking Cipro. Still very difficult to pass urine, small stream, drips, still swollen. I've been on Cipro for 3 days (500mg/2 daily). I also take Ibuprophen to help with the swelling; it sometimes allows me to urinate a little.
How long will it take to clear this blockage up and be able to urinate properly if this is just a urethral infection?
If someone has a history of UTI's and has no health insurance, why won't a doctor give a patient a refill? Why do I have to pay anywhere between $100 - $200 to go to the bathroom in a cup to confirm what I already know is true because I have had UTI's many times before. At a desperate attempt, I brought all the empty bottles of cipro and other drugs prescribed for my past UTI's to show that this wasn't something I was making up. I hoped the Dr.
I was given Cipro for possible salmonella, and am concerned about all of the side effects I have been reading about. Is this a safe drug? I woke up with anxiety and some stiffness this morning, and am scared it's going to get worse. Please help.
ve stopped taking Cipro and Amox, then I think it is just a matter of time before your body regulates itself. That being said, keep your doctor informed about what's going on. And if you can, refrain from driving until you feel better!
I had a recent bout with pouchitis and took Cipro and Flagyl (and yogurt) . The Cipro made me feel normal again and reduced frequency to 5-7 x's a day- I felt good! When I came off the Cipro the high frequency diarrhea problem returned. I go every 6 hrs at about 4 trips per. I am so beat down by a lack of sleep and stress from this that I am ready to die!!! Given I have young kids this is not an option though, if I didn't it would be.
Please be very careful with Cipro. Look up all the side effects of this on the computer ASAP. I was on cipro 250mg for one month then doctor raised it to 500mg. I no sooner took the larger dose than I started to jerk in sleep and had problems with numbness/tingling in both arms from elbow to finger tips. Shook like i had parkinsons.

Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
Also, I am being treated with Cipro, which I just took a round of that for a UT about 2.5 months ago. Should I be repeating the same antibotic so soon, and will it be as effective if I do.
I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face.
I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.

Yes Cipro can definately cause rythm issues. I cant remember where I read this but my doctor was going to give it to me until I showed him the info (that he did not have himself). So yes---In fact--since you brought it up--I have a new group called side effects of medications. Feel free to post your side effects there.
My girlfriend and I were diagnosed with having Gonorrhea. We have been together and have been having problems for about 13 months. When I first started having problems, my doctor just kind of brushed it aside and found a low b12 level in my blood test and started me on b12 shots. Well, symptoms definitely persister, and got a lot worse, so I changed doctors and he tested me for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. Chlamydia came back negative, but positive for Gonorrhea.
My husband was on a long-term course of cipro for prostatitis. After three weeks, he developed stomach aches and pains and the doctor told him to stop. 4 weeks ago I began treatment for prostatitis. Dr gave me Cipro and Naproxen. Original symptoms of back pain, frequent urination, problems starting and stopping have went away. But I do continue to have a dull pain at the base of my right testicle that sometimes radiates to my right thigh. Also seem to get occassional tingling in my hands and feet? I have no nausea, no fever, no discharge. Could it be an STD?
