All other urine tests, cat scan came up normal. Prescribed me cipro and flomax. Had a really bad reaction to the cipro so started with doxycycline today.
Wondering if it's possible for flu to cause these issues I'm having? And has anyone had luck with doxy? Note I did have some minor 'leakage' prior to this happening but nothing like what I'm experiencing now.
I finally went to the urologist and after a brief examination he put me on Cipro 500mg for 2 weeks. After the 2 weeks I improved alittle but I was still in alot of disconfort. The urologist took me off of cipro and told me to wait and see if I recovered more!? which scared since I knew I was not cured. After 2 days a got worse again and called the doc....He put me on Bactrim for 2 weeks which really did not do anything for me...

I agree with whitie the major concern is children 5 to 17, secondly 5 and under, and thirdly pregnant women....... hardly the pattern we have seen with the normal flu. It is really important for everyone to get the "real facts" of how serious the swine flu is to the general population.... gosh I live in WA and one of our colleges of which many of my friends have children that attend and I have been around 2K of 9K tested positive for swine flu which made national news..
I have had a sore throat for over 2 months now, which developed after being on the cipro for a month or so. I also have a few white spots on my gums. I contacted the girl and she went and got tested for everything and came back negative. She claims to have no symptoms of anything whatsoever. I feel completely fine physically, I have had no flu like symptoms but my body just feels different. What could be wrong with me? Should I be concerned about HIV?
Thank you for responding to my question. It has been 12 days since I had root canal on #14. Took Cipro for 7 days. I'm still feeling lpain/discomfort on #14 and try not to chew on that side of mouth. How long does it for root canal to heal? Can and do root canal fail? What are symptoms of failed root canal. At the time of root canal Endodonist put temporary filled on crown. I have appoint with regular dentist for permanent filling in a week.
I was told it did not look like herpes (no lesions), but that the swabbed area was red and raw! The swab has since come back negative for herpes. However, my vaginal burning has remained and is becoming more constant . I also have thin, milky white discharge. At the time of the swab test, I was also sent to Quest for Herpeselect testing. Those results are pending.

I blamed my symptoms on the alcohol on the account that I had been drinking heavy the night before. If your pet has any of the MANY risk factors, giving Cipro can be deadly to your dog. A couple of months ago I began taking Cipro to help with preventing bacteria formation in the ascetic fluid. The past 10 days I have felt the same feelings that I felt the first time I experienced this (May-June 2011). It seems from what I have read that this could be a virus. But I have also read that cipro can cause these symptoms as well. I am taking 550mg/day which seems high to me. I am wondering if it is a virus cant they determine the type of virus attacking my liver.
4 days after the exposure I went to the doc and got cipro for my ear. On day 9 I started taking the drug but have never gotten better which I am concerned. I easily kick these kinds of this with antibiotics.
My 2 questions are is it typical to experience body aches without fever with ars? It routinely is said to be like the flu but my flus always came with fever. And the other is does ars render antibiotics useless during this time or did I just happen to catch a cipro resistant bug.
Hi and sorry you got the run around. You can carry C. difficile and if you don't have symptoms and since you don't have the toxin B then you don't need treatment. So, if you don't have symptoms you don't need the antibiotic. If you want to finish the course of metronidazole for the parasite you can even though they didn't find one. Sometimes it takes several specimens to find one. Do you have diarrhea? If so, how often do you have diarrhea per day? Or are you over it?

I started to get sick in March (this is August) with what I thought was the flu. I had a 104 temp for 5 days along with other fluish symptoms. Pls take some over the counter antihistaminic like benadryl or Claritin.This will help in reducing the flushing and itching if any.If symptoms become severe,then oral steroids may be needed.They are available only on prescription.

Cipro upsets my stomach the entire time while taking it as well. I found that sticking to a bland diet, toast, applesauce etc really helped. Always make sure you have a full stomach before taking it. It is one of those antibiotics that can really bother some and cause zero effects for others. I would avoid the Rockstar drinks!!! Any caffeine will get you feeling even worse.
No symptoms at all. The cipro and biaxin were not for stds, they were for a sinus infection. No pain, no discharge. I did get a yeast infection from the antibiotics, and wondered if that could have managed it's way to my urinary tract...but no burning, nothing like that. All of this seemed to be triggered from my masturbating without and ejaculation over the weekend...
Cipro is a fluoroqinalone, and is not the best choice for an intestinal infection. Ordinary over-the-counter pepto bismal would have been more appropriate. Bismuth is a powerful bactricidal agent.
Cipro has many side effects and was not an appropriate. In Mexico, what is labled "Cipro" could be anything from powdered dog dung to flour and insecticide.
