Cipro for acne

Common Questions and Answers about Cipro for acne

cipro

I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face. I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.
The goal is to slow down the smooth muscles of the small intestine and nothing has done it for me but Opioids. Cipro is an anti-bacterial drug so treating diarrhea caused by a physiological alteration (you have no colon) makes zero sense to me. Your diarrhea is not caused by an infection or bacteria, its caused by the fact you have no large intestine whos job is to absorb water, minerals and compact your poop for you.
Does this sound like anything you've seen? Can you suggest anything for her doctors to look for? I feel like someone has to have an idea or have seen something like this before. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I was on bactrim for several years for acne. Is this going to be a problem? Could the 2 day lapse in the cipro treatment have led to some resistance? My understanding is that cipro is the most effective drug for prostatitis. What antibiotics do I have left? Any other thoughts you have about my condition would be greatly appreciated. Things are looking kind of scary.
250mg for 2 weeks. After 9 days I stopped taking the cipro due to ringing in the ears. (in that nine days ALL symptoms improved dramatically) After being reexamined 2 days later the doctor decided the ringing was due to a sinus infection. I was put back on cipro at a dose of 500 mg for another 10 days. In the past ten days my condition has declined to the point where it is painful to sit down. I went back to the doctor.

I have been on long term doxy given by my dermatologist as a treatment for my acne. Since I have stopped doxy and started using accutane, i have diagnosed with Urethritis twice since. Has doxy been working as a prophylaxis? As such a possible alternative treatment regime for the future? 3/ I have a suspicion that Accutane raises the likelihood of contracting a STD. Why? Because it dries up the mucous membranes which results in tears during sex.
Have had acne-looking lesions--mostly on face but some on neck & legs (in areas that I touch). Has been going now for almost a year. Lesions begins as a dry piece of skin that, when falls off, reveals a shallow ulcerated area of skin. Mostly painless except for pinpoint area of pain within lesion. Does NOT feel like pain I've had with zits and the like prior. Itching is minimal, but have experienced burning sensations. My face looks like I have chicken pox---red marks all over it.
But then it started to burn not red but felt sore, alot of pimple like bumps only on the cheeks, I have been on alot of antibiotic treatments for sinus infection, new drugs and old cipro type drugs. I am wondering if this has anything to do with this rash? i have psoriasis, but i know its not that. It appears that if irritated some of the bumps break into a rash effect. Very strange but extremley bothersome. PLEASE HELP!! i hate these blemishes on my face.
Next day had stinging and burring during urination but no discharge, dr. Perscriped cipro for 2 weeks and it all went away. Always had protected insertion sex, no condom breaks, but unprotected oral. Noticed lots of pimples 2 weeks ago (23 days after my 6 week test). Read somewhere acne can be related and I started to panic.
He was taken off the erythromycin yesterday and put on cipro for 10 days. I don't know what to do, he is desperate for relief from these horrible cysts the accutane is causing. Is there anything we can do? Please help.
She was on Keflex for 10 days, Duricef for 10 days and Cipro for 10 days. We have been using Bactroban ointment continuously until this week when we started using Altabax ointment. Still, no improvement. When one spot is almost gone, she will wake up with a new spot. It has been a never ending cycle. She had a negative strep culture. That is the only test they have done. It does not itch or burn.
I am a 27 year old male, have been taking erythromyacin since I was a teenager for acne control and gasteroparesis without any problems. I switched to Cipro once before for 3 days for severe food poisioning w/ulceration once with no problems with it. I have been on Cipro for 6 days now and didnt start noticing hearing problems until about 36 hours ago, although the vision problems started soon after taking the drugs. If this is out of range of this forum I understand fully.
I have just started isotretinoin treatment for acne. Looking for suggestions that wouldn't require d/c'ing the isotretinoin. Any thoughts?

Doryx (doxycycline) is usually prescribed for 12 weeks for teenage or adult acne. When taken in this way it is effective and generally well tolerated. Eloise.
But I wonder what happens if you actually had an allergic reactioin to one and then immediately were put on another one? I was on Cipro for 7 days , 5 days into it had the breathing problems and went to the ER. Two days later the Pulmonary doctor put me on Levaquin for 10 days. And this is when the nightmare began! What do you think based on this additional information. PLEASE write me soon as I need help.
Both drugs are of a class called flouroquinolones, and both have been linked to damage to the tendons and pain in the muscles. Levaquin mostly. For some reason Cipro doesn't seem to be much of a problem. Levaquin is associated wih long-term muscular aches and pains.
Look at BOOKS at a health food store and book store, to find NATURAL WAYS to treat ACNE. Here are some ideas that WORKED WELL FOR ME, when I had BAD acne, many years ago: (1) Get SUNSHINE (and FRESH AIR and EXERCISE and adequate SLEEP). Don't get sunburned, but do get some SUNSHINE, DAILY, if possible. (2) Don't wash face too much, or too often. Don't scrub face, like with wash cloth. Avoid perfumed soaps. (Use unscented ones).
Presently, he has several open ulcers on his face the size of quarters. He is currently taking Cipro for 2 weeks and is under the care of a Dermotology group in Aspen CO. His condition did improve during the courses of Acutane but the symptoms seems to return with renewed strengh following treatment. I would like to receive information about where he can seek treatment for this condition and what courses of treatment are avialable.
Hello, I had vaginal sex 6 months ago. 64 days post exposure I had an STD test for Chlamydia, Gonna rhea, Syphilis, and HIV. They all came back negative. I am having a acne like rash on my chest, shoulders, and back that concern me though. I was on Cipro and Clindesse cream the week before my test. Is there a chance my syphilis test was a false negative because of this. I am just extremely concerned about this area that has broken out. Thank you for your response.
I was taking cipro for an unrelated issue and continued to take it for 7 days. He had been taking doxycycline for acne for 22 days prior to and during the exposure. Would that lower the risk for me? I have no symptoms.

Dr., I posted in early December about a recurrent acne like infection on the butt. At that time you suggested it may be a staph infection of sorts. My Dermatologist did a nose swab, and the results came back as psudomonas, and I completed a dosage of Cipro, and used neosporin in the nostrils. One of the bolis has come back however, approximately as big as a fingertip, and is somewhat painful.
A week two later I was complaining about an irritation in my urethra - not horrible but unpleasant. I was prescribed cipro for 7 days. I went back a week later, complaining of some unpleasantness still there, as well as some pain in my lower back. I told the doctor I was worried about possibly contracting herpes. This was 5 weeks after the encounter. Everything I have read tells me that's possibly not enough time, but the doctor told me it was extremely accurate.

I have been struggling with cystic acne since I was 23 years old. I am now 30. I have been treated with everything from topical creams to cipro, erythromycin, penicillin, tetracycline, and sulfates. I have undergone one full treatment of accutane also. I seem to only have bad breakouts during the spring and fall. I do not understand why it is always the same time of the year. A large cluster under my ear and on my neck was tested and showed positive for staphyloccocus aureus.
I have been experencing for the last six months overwhelming fatigue, blurred vision, acne break outs, body aches and constant scrotal discomfort. I'm at my end here, I am 5' 9'' and went from being a muscular 195lbs to a flabby 173 pounds, I've lost my job because I can't be on my feet for more than a couple of hours at a time.
