Found out its an abcess and my wisdom tooth is trying to come in but is stuck again the infected tooth. Was given antibiotics and Norco. Kind of worried about the Norco was told its safe because its a low dose.

I have a broken tooth and just got tooth Abcess. I have a dentist appointment on Tuesday but I will have to go to ER or a walk in clinic to get antibiotics. My question is I have got chest pains they come for five seconds and leave for 10 minutes and repeat that same routine. Could this have started because of the bacteria from the tooth abcess, or would this be a whole new problem I should get looked at?

Hi, I have had an reacurring abcess under one of my teeth for quite some time now (approx 3-4 years) when i say reacurring its proberbly never healed fully, when its ok the dentist says its very very small.

however, to meimply that there is a dental relatedabcess aound the root of a tooth. I would ask your dentist for clarification. a root canal specialist would be best qualified to tell you if the infection (abcess) is coming fom the tooth (most likely, especially if there is a deep filling, decay or a previously done root canal in the tooth) or from the sinus.

Is is possible for the abcess to heal and the tooth to correct itself? In other words, once a tooth has an abcess are there no other options other than to do a root canal and crown on the tooth? Or can the abcess be treated and the tooth left alone once the abcess is cured?

I've had an abcess on my gum for about a year. I pop it about two times a day like a pimple. My tooth that needed a rootcanal 4 years ago has started to chip off on the inner part,and is no longer painful. The problem is I can't afford to go to the dentist. Thank you for responding to my question. It has been 12 days since I had root canal on #14. Took Cipro for 7 days. I'm still feeling lpain/discomfort on #14 and try not to chew on that side of mouth. How long does it for root canal to heal? Can and do root canal fail? What are symptoms of failed root canal. At the time of root canal Endodonist put temporary filled on crown. I have appoint with regular dentist for permanent filling in a week.

Some of the filing is still there and the tooth does not bother me only sometimes with hot food. For roughly a month now I've had a small lump under a broken tooth. You cannot see it or feel it from the inside of my mouth - it can only be felt by pushing a finger up the inside of my jawline. Well I went to the dentist and he didn't tell me it was an abcess. But he did prescribe me amoxicillin but I told him I was allergic to penicillin so he gave me clyndimyacin. I took it for 2 days and turns out I'm allergic to it too. So now I'm on peridex mouth wash. Will it help me?

i can tell the tooth has died hense i feel no pain from it eexcept the abcess which feels as if it wants out! which is what i want. ive also been taking ibu for pain and swollenness which has also been working slowly but surely.. im 21 years old with no health insurance. i dont know how much llonger i can handle my face being twice its size..

Back in 2005, I had a deep filling in one of my front tooth. Just recently the filling fell off. So I went to a dentist. After looking at xrays, he tells that front tooth needs a root canal since the abcess has reached the nerve. Somehow I am not feeling pain perhaps he says since the other dentist who did the filling killed the nerve. I am questioning the need for the root canal. The only reason I can imagine would be if the abcess spreads to other teeth but I won't think thats likely.

Good morning; The best way to find out about abcess teeth infection is either to Google Abcess Teeth or call your dentist. Please, don't be offended, but I Googled Abcess Teeth and thewre was way too much to copy and paste. I do know that an abcess can drain and infection can spread, it can also make one very sick. That's from personal experience, so please if you have an abcess call your doctor.

Well two days ago i developed a sore throat prolly from a sick fam member. My qustion is this.... Will the antibiotics make my throat worse?

Can you give a little history on that tooth? When was the bridge done, when did the abcess start, what were your symptoms before the root canal? Based alone on what you have said, I would guess the bridge is too high and taking too much of the pressure of your bite. This is fairly simple for a dentist who knows about occlusion to handle, you should have relief in a few days if this is the case. I would suggest you go get a second opinion.

I went to my regular dentist on 1/13/06 and xrays showed a large abscess in tooth #10, as well as a smaller abscess in tooth #20. On 1/17/06 I had a RCT done on tooth #10, as well as an incision in the roof of my mouth behind that tooth to help extract the infection. On 1/19/06, I had a RCT done on tooth #20, with one 0.05mm post placed. I have been on Antibiotics since 1/13/06, taking Penicillin VK 500mg QID, so I'm now on my Eighth day of antibiotics.
