cipro

Avatar m tn t usually prescribe but given that it have taken Cipro 250mg in the past (or urinary tract infection with no side effects. Is Cipro as effective as other antibiotics for dental infection?
Avatar m tn No symptoms at all. The cipro and biaxin were not for stds, they were for a sinus infection. No pain, no discharge. I did get a yeast infection from the antibiotics, and wondered if that could have managed it's way to my urinary tract...but no burning, nothing like that. All of this seemed to be triggered from my masturbating without and ejaculation over the weekend...
Avatar n tn Microscopic hematuria can be due to urinary tract (bladder) infection, swelling in the filtering system of the kidneys, stone in bladder or in a kidney, blood disease, like sickle cell anemia, certain medicines and tumors in the urinary tract. You may need a series of investigations like urine examination, urine culture, ultrasound or cystoscopy to confirm the diagnosis. Please consult a urologist and get it done. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Be careful with using Cipro and other antibiotics and use it only as directed by your Physician. I was misdiagnoised with a urinary tract infection that time showed it wasn't and was prescribed Cipro. This drug and others in its class have a nasty side effect - mine was labral tears of the right shoulder and right hip. My Mother suffers from sinus infections and she has found that her Chiropractor successfully treats her by draining her sinus.
Avatar f tn Your symptoms could be due to UTI, or urinary tract infection. The infection could be at any level from bladder to ureter to kidney. It could also be due to a stone in the urinary tract. What you need is a urine culture and sensitivity test done. You can also give it for culture and sensitivity in a sterile bottle provided by the lab. This will tell you what organism is causing the infection and what antibiotic will kill it permanently.
Avatar m tn Did they check your liver enzymes? Were they normal. Regarding the urinary tract infection It sounds like the organism causing the problem is getting resistant to the drug Cipro and you may need a new prescription. Also, Cipro may be causing you to throw up. it is possible you have a kidney infection still and it is causing pain that is radiating to the front.
Avatar f tn I am 43yrs old female and have for past six weeks now urinary tract infection symptoms and been to several doctors and emergency room. I have spent a thousand dollars on treatment with no relief due to no insurance until January. I have had scan done on my kidneys and no stones. I have had blood work and urine cultures with no infection. I have been tested for STD's and none. They had me on ciproflaxin for 10 days at 500mg twice a day and doxycycline for 10 days at 100mg twice a day.
Avatar f tn It sounds more like a urinary tract infection. Please see your doctor for diagnosis and antibiotics (we are not able to recommend dosing of products here and you need a prescription for proper antibiotics to treat a UTI).
738333 tn?1232967475 Hi, The most common organism responsible for urinary tract infection in women is E.coli. Was there also a sensitivity to antibiotics done? This helps determine which antibiotics the organisms responsible responds to and ensures treatment from the infection. Normally, there is a healthy flora of organisms that does not cause any symptoms or infection. However, this may also be affected with antibiotic intake.

493068 tn?1224765315 The condition occurs when the normally clean lower urinary tract is infected by bacteria and becomes inflamed. Urinary tract infections are very common. Most of the time, symptoms of a urinary tract infection disappear within 24 - 48 hours after treatment begins. However, if the condition occurs more than twice in 6 months, lasts longer than 2 weeks, or does not respond to usual treatment, it is considered chronic. The elderly are at increased risk for such infections.
Avatar f tn t sound like you have an infection. The pyridium is to numb your urinary tract. Take it for symptom relief. Wear a panty liner as it is a bright dye and will stain and startle you if you aren't expecting it. You might have a yeast infection causing your discomfort. After antibiotics, yeast discomfort can be confusing. Look up on google what to eat if you have interstitial cystitis and see if you can calm things down that way.
Avatar f tn I agree with you that it does sound like a bladder or urinary tract infection but I just had it checked and it was clear. I am actually on cipro for a sinus infection. I have heard of one case where breast cancer had spread to bladder but I wanted to hear if more cases had occured. I am checking with urologist tomorrow. It is just strange that I have pain and infection symptoms 24/7 even when I don't have an infection. I knew the breast cancer spreads to brain, liver lung bone and all.
Avatar f tn January of this year I was vacationing when I came down with what I suspected was a urinary tract infection. I went to a CVs minute clinic where they confirmed and prescribed me 14 days(28) cipro antibiotic pills. After finishing the prescription I had pain in ny penis both erect and flaccid. Sometimes severe when erect. My penis rapidly took on a 90 degree upward curve that and I now have Peyronie's. Was it the cipro that caused the Peyronie's?

Avatar m tn Then they took a urine sample and sent it out which tested positive for bacteria and they stated it was a Urinary Tract Infection. Is a Urinary Tract Infection and NGU the same thing?
Avatar f tn do you have this numbness in the penis and pain up in the pelvis like in a vein? I've had this for over a month now with a bad UTI is there anything like clotrimazole miconazole that can help that?
Avatar f tn Urinalysis and urine culture are definitive diagnosis of a urinary tract infection. This may respond well to antibiotic management. The choice of drug and length of treatment depend on your medical history and the urine tests that identify the offending bacteria. Many doctors prescribe antibiotics for a week or two to ensure that the infection has been cured. Other tests such as intravenous pyelogram may also be indicated. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Hematuria or blood in the urine can be caused by bleeding from anywhere along the urinary tract. The most common cause is an infection because of the inflammation in the urinary tract. Urinary stones can cause abrasion and irritation resulting in hematuria. Other possible cause is a kidney condition called glomerulonephritis. I would suggest that you consult your Doctor so further investigation can be done.
Avatar m tn Always felt like a urinary tract infection or kidney infection. Was much later diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis. Was treated for that with great results. Basically, your bladder goes into a spasm, holding urine and creating the pain I felt. Treatment was to take meds to help soft muscles to relax and allow urine to be passed. Also had to have in office infusions into bladder with heparin. I found that the antihystamine Hydroxizine to be a deterrent to flares and now use it daily.....
Avatar m tn Hello, I have had problems in my urinary tract since the age of 15 and I'm 21 now. I have a burning pain when I pee due to a past infection which lead to a special cell type growth in the urinary tract. In my journal online, the Urologist wrote that I have squamous metaplasia in the urothelium. Due to my health anxiety I've done research online if metaplasia could lead to cancer. I read that metaplasia could lead to dysplasia, but I don't know whether this is correct information.
Avatar m tn Towards the end of the course, the symptoms of a urinary tract infection (the uncomfortable ones) returned, but subsided soon after. The cramps, however, seem to get worse with time. Also: In tropical environments, supposedly infections can last far longer than usual due to the very elevated humidity. Is there any way I still have a kidney infection?
Avatar n tn Ive had a urinary tract infection for going on 6 weeks now. Ive been treated over and over and nothing seems to be getting rid of it. I dont have a regular dr so I am relying on trips to the er to help me. I am now so sick with the infection that I am throwing up and am in so much pain. I have a very serious history of kidney stones as well which doesnt help much either. I just had my last stone removed about 3 weeks ago.
