is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.
Thats why initially I thought it was possibly a UTI, but with the discharge I was leaning more towards an STD. Maybe I didn't take the Cipro long enough. I took the dosage (2 a day) for 10 days (2 packs).
I am currently in Ghana and the have yet to find a clinic that does same day STD test. I waited 5 hours to even meet the doctor for my consultation.
I just don't want to risk whatever I have getting worse.
Slight indication of infection/soreness at incisor site prior to cipro. Docs not back till tomorrow, do I not ingest todays dosage?

NO symptoms as of now (2 weeks after encounter) I was given four 500mg tablets of cipro to be taken all at once, and then place on a fourteen day regimen of Erthyrocin at four 500mg tablets per day. DID NOT AGREE W/ MY STOMACH! Not sure if it was just the overload of 2000mg of Cipro all at once combined with 2000mg of Erthyrocin given throughout day or what. Went to back to Dr. yesterday morning and she gave me two 500mg of Azirthomycin to be taken all at once.
I told the doctor I was concerned about STDs, so she prescribed 4 tablets (250mg each) of Azithromycin and 1 tablet (500mg) of Ciprofloxacin. I took all dosage that same day.
I still have that white dot on my tonsile. I don't have burning when I urinate, but my anus is still a little sore.
1) What are the chances I got an STD from this episode?
2) Which STDs should I be concerned about?
3) Could that green mucus have originated from his penis in the form of gonoreah?
your dosage was similar to mine - you will be ok, honest. You will feel like the flu has come on, but recognising it is half the battle. Don't let the drug inside you trick you into using it again just to feel better.
Once you are past day three you can say you are off them for good. Don't go back. You can do this.

i was about to be cured from Gonorrhea but i skip some dosage of cephalexin, my problem now is i need to switch to CIPROFLOXACIN but i found out that it wasn't working for me some how im one of those patient's who were resistant to it according to the UPDATES on GONORRHEA RESISTANCE... should i go back to cephalexin? my dosage before was 500mg 3x a day...

t been able to confirm. As a result, I went to a pharmacy and got a 10-pack of 500mg Cipro and a 3 pack of 500mg Zipro. I took 1000mg of Cipro and 1000mg of Zipro yesterday and another 500mg of each today. Have a I taken enough of these drugs to kill both bacterial infections, and if so, how long should it take to clear up an infection if I do indeed have one?
They prescribed Cipro on the basis that there were some traces of Bacteria. I am almost done with the Cipro dosage (7 days) and also have been drinking a lot of water and cranberry juice. No relief at all. Is there something else that could be causing this? What should I look to do (or have checked) next? Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
You can get one symptom or 2 or 3 or none with a STD. Cipro might cure gonorrhea or chlymida. You would have to wait about 2 weeks after the cipro is finished so you do not get a false negative.
I would finish the medication and if things are better then not worry about it. If things are not better or symptoms come back then follow up with your Dr and test for STD's.
Are you sure you talked to a doctor? Obviously you have to take an antidepressant every day. There are definitely downsides to taking medication, and if your life isn't so badly disrupted you can't function it's good to look for alternatives, especially therapy. But I'm always amazed at how many people take things without doing any homework first. When a doctor gives you a prescription, there's a dosage. That dosage has been arrived at by trials and experience.
when the doctor put in the indwelling catheter, she already had urine retention for a long time and never had UTI despite she was not using catheters. Plus, she was taking cranberry juice and Cipro since October 2015 to keep dry her foot gangrene, and Cipro has a large field of action, even on UTI.
(That day, she also took 5mg Isorbid sublingual tablets) Can she have a UTI in 5-6 days then develop into sepsis then septic shock all in 13 days? Why the Cipro did not act?
doesn't happen to everyone. There are neurological effects. If you walk alot, you will definately feel it cause it will make your tendons sore if you take it for a long time.
I didn't have those side effect with cipro, but I did with levaquin it in the same class but much more powerfull. The first night I took it, my joints ached. Then I started getting chills. After a week or so taking it, the symptoms subsided. If you walk a lot at work, your feet will hurt more so than before.

ve only had oral outbreaks so far, i asked the doctor for acyclovir and he gave me a prescription for 800mg tablets and to take them 2x daily for a total dose of 1600mg everyday as supressive therapy. i'm concerned this is too high a dose? i thought it should be 400mg and take 2x daily for a total dose of 800mg? it was an ER doctor that gave it to me because i don't have health insurance and went to the county hospital.
Side effects should dissipate after discontinuing/finishing the medication. Did you finish all the tablets? It's very important to take all the pills that are prescribed to you because 1) it will fully get rid of the infection 2) If you dont finish the tablets, the next time you take this med, it will not be as effective .My guess would be that maybe something else is going on that is not in relation to Levaquin or maybe you were allergic to the med???
