I found a post that said that medications from the fluoroquinolone antibiotics (such as Cipro, Levaquin, Tequin, Avelox or Floxin) can cause these symptoms...I took Cipro and Levaquinn about 7 years ago, for a few short days each and my doctor switched the medication saying I was allergic. Now I am wondering if all my symptoms that have gone undiagnosed could be a side effect of those medications. Anyone else able to tie the two together? If so, what can you do to make it better?

should i start taking cipro as i am having hematuria ? And plz tell whats wrong with me as i don see cloudy bloody urine no bad odor and urine with good water intake flow is normal plz answer me i am deeply worried.
I went back in and told the doctor, he was puzzled, told me to keep taking the cipro as maybe it was about to get worse anyway. The cipro is making me feel sick and exhausted and makes what I'm taking it for worse, so I'm not too thrilled.
Any ideas? Google has made me terrified of either IC or a tumor or cancer an I would love some reassurance that it might not be something awful.

My urine test was negative for any bacteria. Put me on cipro for a month. During cipro the pain in the tip of my penis was gone but I always maintained that low grade lower abdominal pain. After the cipro within two days the pain got worse. So now he has me on septra. I've been on it for a few days but i still have that low grade abdominal pain some frequency and altered sensation at the tip of my penis.
what should i do?
I have these electric jolts that pass through my body and after readying all this comments I can only point my finger to the Cipro my doctor put me on about 2 years ago. Why is this happening? and how I can stop it from happenng? It is scary as I have no warning.
Cipro upsets my stomach the entire time while taking it as well. I found that sticking to a bland diet, toast, applesauce etc really helped. Always make sure you have a full stomach before taking it. It is one of those antibiotics that can really bother some and cause zero effects for others. I would avoid the Rockstar drinks!!! Any caffeine will get you feeling even worse.
At this point just avoid caffeine, alcohol and spicy foods, drink plenty of fluids and avoid sexual activity ( including masturbation ) for a few days.
If a week from now symptoms are unchanged, be seen again for a repeat urinalysis.

I have just finished a 5 day course of Cipro prescribed over the phone by an oncall physician last weekend for a UTI. I had a non-specific UTI about 4 years ago. It was not gonorrhea or chlamydia as determined by my urologist.
My main symptom this time, however, is not discharge or burning as it was last time. It is a feeling of fullness in my bladder. Could this be the medication causing this? I have a follow up this week.
Went to urologist who took urine to culture and put me on Cipro. Ill feeling went away before starting the Cipro but burning got much worse. Several days in got itching and some mild soreness in my anus and one week in got what looks like conjunctivitis. There is no penile discharge but I'm 11 days into the Cipro and no significant improvement in the burning when peeing or my eyes. Three days ago urologist sent me for another urine sample, this time first pee of the morning.
He cleaned the wound, prescribed a tetanus shot, and antibiotics (Cipro, and Clindamyacin). I asked about rabies and he felt that the chances were pretty remote and didn’t recommend the vaccine.
It’s the next morning and I’m feeling a bit nauseous, very slight headache, and lightheaded. I’m also pretty dehydrated, and the wound from the pig is sore and inflamed.
My question is, could this be the onset of a bacterial infection? And is the nurse correct in presuming there is no risk for rabies?
Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
Also, I am being treated with Cipro, which I just took a round of that for a UT about 2.5 months ago. Should I be repeating the same antibotic so soon, and will it be as effective if I do.
I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face.
I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.

I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives.
From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.
Yes Cipro can definately cause rythm issues. I cant remember where I read this but my doctor was going to give it to me until I showed him the info (that he did not have himself). So yes---In fact--since you brought it up--I have a new group called side effects of medications. Feel free to post your side effects there.
is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.
Tested me and gave me antibiotics for trich,chlamydia and gon. 1 cipro, 4azithromycin, 4metrodinozale? My partner was also treated. Pain went away, but now I have a clear sticky discharge that appears after I masturbate, even if I don't ejaculate and just stop, it'll show up, a drop or two. I also have frequent urination for a couple hrs every 2-3 days apart and a drop on the tip of my penis after urination.
Having bladder issues with pain in lower front area with a throbbing pain. Also couldn't control urinating on myelf. Dr saw blood in urine. I thought it might be a stone & my doctor thought it could be, but ct scan showed no stone. 1 month later it started again & doctor saw blood in urine again. So she upped my Cipro some & gave me VESIcare for 2 weeks & told me to take all of medications, then call back to get some labs do.
I already have an appointment with the urologist in a couple of weeks but wanted to know if an std test would be accurate at this time just for peace of mind. Not sure how long to wait post finishing cipro for a chlamydia test to be accurate. I'm aware cipro wouldn't cure chlamydia. Also, I was tested for HIV back in april and it was no reactive so I'm not worried there.
Started having testicular pain. Got tested for chlamydia, gon, trich. I was given 4 pills of azithromycin single dose, 1 of cipro, and 4 more of metrodinozale, all single dose. That doesn't seem like it'd be effective??My partner also took them. A week later, results back, all neg. my partner has had no signs at all. Since this treatment, I have frequent urination about every other day, and my pee just drips after. Like a single clear drop on the tip of my penis.
