so had cipro and levaquin in the past,lost 1 tenon in each shoulder due to rupture,have joint and tendon pain when tsking certain antibiotics,recently amox clav,guess you can be sensitive to My penicillin too.all drs look at me like im crazy when i tell them im. not tolerating an rx,huh? anyway,i usually feel better about later in day 1 or 2 then by day three its excruciating bordering on unbearable,what to do?

I took Cipro twice in 2009, I had rash, itchy and after that I had thighs,legs and buttocks pain with nerve pain. Is that possible from Cipro ? I'm still getting the nerve and legs pain. I had xray,hiv, herpes, stds and nerve test all came back normal. Any help!!!!

I have achilles tendon pain, and I also have pain and swelling on the inside of my ankle and arch of foot. Thank you for your response. I have already seen a rheumatologist and neurologist about the strange tendon and nerve pain I've had ever since my surgery and subsequent sepsis incident. I never had these before and they are stumped. I have also read that high b12 and folate can actually mean I am not metabolizing/absorbing it well, hence they are ending up in my bloodstream at high levels.

I was having testicular pain 7 weeks ago and the doctor suspected i was having a UTI he prescribe me 7 day 500mh cipro twice a day antibiotic treatment. How during the course of it , i have difficulty in breathing and had dey theoat and mouth which i thought should be the normal side effects of the medication. However after completing the course of the drug , i felt nerve pain on my eyes , thighs , groin area , legs , arms. And muscles weakness.

and pharmacist are debating on drugs now, he wanted to put me back on cipro , but last time is really caused alot of pain going down the stairs in the achilles tendon. I know that could be a permanent side effect of the Cipro, so we want to try something else. This seems to the to Tetracycline, Cephalox , ( or something like that) ... so, after they work it out, I will be on something.

hi all, I recenty visited my doctor (july 2nd) because of testicular pain, he put me on Cipro. A few days later (wed july 8th) because I was having a side affect from the cipro (tendon pain) so he put me on septra, along with a referal to a urologist.

What are some side effects of Cipro. I was on cipro for a month and it was terrible. My face felt flushed, burning sensation on my back. Both Cipro and Levaquin are drugs of a class known as quinolones. Of the two Cipro has the least side effects. The sore muscles may last for weeks or months or you may feel better in a few days. With that class of drugs there are ocasional reports of permanent tendon damage. This does not mean they should not be used. It is a matter of risk and benefit.

I am a 22 yr old female and this morning I woke up and had severe stiffness and pain in my hands and fingers. This has never happened to me before. I worked well on the UTI. If I do need to go back on abx for Bart, I presume it will be Rifampin. There are other intra-cellular meds that can be used, although they're not as effective.

t take Cipro/ Levaquin/Avalox! All in th same family! I was damaged by Cipro in 1990 and have continued to suffer from it still today! Shoulders/neck/Achilles tendon/ arms & hands! Shoulders the worst and longest! Levaquin prescribed several times even though I told Dr. No Cipro! Wake up! They all are the same cause same problems! Vigamox caused 3 retinal tares and detachment in Oct of 2012! Why don't we have anty re-course??
