Please be very careful with Cipro. Look up all the side effects of this on the computer ASAP. I was on cipro 250mg for one month then doctor raised it to 500mg. I no sooner took the larger dose than I started to jerk in sleep and had problems with numbness/tingling in both arms from elbow to finger tips. Shook like i had parkinsons.

I’m still experiencing some pain daily and I’m wondering if it’s the Cipro still affecting my body or is it is it something else? Prior to taking Cipro I had bouts of numbness in my right arm and leg as well as yearly severe chest congestion but after it seems like all my prior conditions got worse. How can I fix this?
He did chest X-ray, abdominal X-ray, Tran rectal ultrasound, Digital Rectal Exam, PSA test suspecting it was prostatitis and while he waited for the results, he put me on a 10 day dose of Cipro. The results were normal for all tests with the exception of the testicular ultrasound and abdominal X-ray which showed moderate constipation. I used a laxative to clear the blockage. The scrotal ultrasound showed small bilateral hydrocele's in both testicles.
ve had light chest pain, on and of body numbness, and a few other odd symptoms. After my period, I kept having the urge to pee even when I went and my uti strip said I had blood in my urine..so my doctor put me on cipro for five days. It seems I'm probably allergic to it and I don't want to take anything else. Would a zpak work for me? I've taken three Benadryls today just to rid of the horrible symptoms. I'm only 18 and pretty fed up with medicines.

It is now about a year later, and I am having pain in my left testicle again. I do not have health insurance and got a friend to prescribe Cipro for me to clear up my infection. After reading the new black box warning on Cipro I am very nervous and reluctant to take it, mainly because of the reports of sudden tendon rupture. I started taking Cipro a week ago. 6/5/09. I noticed my energy to be low and my joint and tendons to be stiff and sore.
With regards to the numbness in your palms and feet, this could be due to peripheral neuropathy which can be associated with medical conditions such as diabetes and nerve issues. If it persists, you may need to have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Additional diagnostic tests may need to be done. Take care and do keep us posted.
Three days later felt pain in lower abdomen and trouble urinating(no burning, slow flow) went to ER, they put me on cipro and the stuff that makes your pee yellow, during the course of cipro my glans looks red and cracked, tender at times, went to ER 4 days later with a feeling of numbness all over the body
Fast forward to now, diagnosed with pelvic floor dysfunction (not prostatitis) treated for the red glans with kenalog shot and triamcinolone acetonide .
I have taken Cipro for Urniary Tract Infections on and off for about 7 years. Last year the frequency of infections was about every 2 months. This winter I have had less than a month between symptoms. My doctor gave me a prescription for Macrobid in case I need it. I have taken it for the first time the past three days and the infection is still quite apparent especially during the night when I can feel the internal discomfort.
I HAD JUST FINISHED MY 500MG CIPRO FOR 10 DAYS AND POTASSIUM PILLS 1 2X A SAY FOR 10 DAYS TOO. Be careful with using Cipro and other antibiotics and use it only as directed by your Physician. I was misdiagnoised with a urinary tract infection that time showed it wasn't and was prescribed Cipro. This drug and others in its class have a nasty side effect - mine was labral tears of the right shoulder and right hip.

Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.

I have taken cipro a lot too and it hasn't bothered me before. But I recently took it and after 1 dose my heart started acting weird. Any antibiotic of that class can cause heart palpitations. Unfortunately, most of the antibiotics I can take have that potential side effect, I'm allergic to penicillin.

I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives.
From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.
is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.
no, it will effect the medication and either make it not work or intensfy. it will say on the bottle of the medication not to take the meds. with alcohol.
I had to take 20 days of Cipro for prostate infection. The e coli count was > 100,000. It took 4 or 5 day to take the temperature down and then it was a matter of getting through the 20 days. Right after I got off of Cipro (~2days) I was feeling constipated, A week after (yesterday) I realized my spleen was swollen (first time ever). Wife is a nurse and new where it was located.
