Avatar f tn There are so many medications that mention "tachy" as a possible side effect. I'm not sure if the arrhythmia becomes permanent however. Often it clears up once the medication is discontinued/ended. I've taken Cipro a couple of times now and I'm prone to arrhythmias LOL and never noticed any difference while on the med. My albuterol for asthma cranks up my heart rate but only for 10 minutes or so.
Avatar n tn I visited ER when palpitations were bad and my BP was 167/90. They did an EKG and X-ray and my heart was fine and that it was palpitations. Drew blood - elevated bilirubin count. I have higher than norm bilirubin since birth though. I think the ER missed the bacteria because I was being blindly treated with antibiotics (Cipro & metrnzdle) at the time for this persistant stomach infection.
Avatar f tn 24 hr tape showed no abnormality, some supraventricular ectopics(which i never felt), but was told thats normal. I have had palpitations on and off for years, but usually only related to stress/hormonal times in month, alcohol. They were a bit more frequent towards end of last year, hence the ECG. Anyway, cardiologist has seen results, and ruled out any serious causes of short pr interval(I was terrifeid it was WPW at first, but he sees no sign of that).
Avatar m tn After the last infection and after the heart tests with no results for palpitations and high blood pressure, I discontinued the maginsium because I read that it may cause heart palpitataions. The palpitations did stop, but so did the regurlarity. I also adjusted my diet and that may have helped with a bit.
Avatar f tn I just finished a 5 day z pack that was prescribed for a sinus infection that was giving me severe headaches. My heart started to feel funny and I looked at the insert which said could cause irregular hearbeats. I've taken this medication in the past with no issue. I do not have any cardiac disease but I do smoke, should I just wait for about 5 days to see if once the meds are out of my system I'm ok, or should I go see a doctor or go to the ER?

Avatar f tn Hi. I also have had heart palpitations. I talked with the doctor and she said probably is nothing, but they are going to check the thyroid hormonea..they can increase during pregnancy and cause palpitations, but i even if it is the case she said not to worry, it is nothing complicated, maybe some supplements to get them under control. Ask your doctor, but don't worry. Good luck!
Avatar m tn My son is 18 and started having heart palpitations and chills tonight. He also has a headache. He can't relax because this is bothering him so much. He does have a doctors appt tomorrow at 11:15am. Any suggestions to calm the palpitations?
Avatar f tn I have read about cipro an erythromycin being dangerous for those with a heart arrythmia but I have found much information about the lInk in clindamycin and heart problems. I have read that clindamycin is a commom drug prescribed to ppl before dental work to prevent endocarditis in those with heart problems, so why would they prescribe it to someone with heart problems if it is bad?? I dont take anything for my pvcs nor are they very bad.
Avatar n tn I get heart palpitations from time to time with no concern and have been to the doctors within the past yr and have had my heart listened to. However last night i was talking my dogs for a walk up this steep hill and stopped because i got a heart palpitation, but also had this quick sharp pain in my heart, the pain only lasted for a second or two and the palpitations ended soon after. I felt fine afterwards but had much anxiety about the pain.
Avatar f tn I have been having heart palpitations for about a year now and I'm 24 years old. I usually get the palpitations before and during my period and when I'm in stressful times. I am worried that in the future when I get pregnant this will affect me.
Avatar f tn Our adrenal system is closely related to our hormones, so if your adrenals are having issues, it will effect hormones and could in turn cause heart palpitations. Also, if progesterone is off, that could cause it. Additionally, low Magnesium, low Vitamin D, low B12, - all an cause heart palpitations. Get a full panel done and see. Maybe it will be something as simple as a vitamin deficiency. Hope this helps... God Bless.
Avatar f tn thank you for advice i do have stress but even when im relaxed watching tv i get this tingling all over my body its not always the same time as the flushing and palpitations i have been in hospital a few times on a drip to slow my heart rate down from 230 beats my heart dr is starting me on a new tablet next week and says i might have to have an operation its really scary i feel for everyone on here and wish everyone well take care.
Avatar n tn About a month later I started having A LOT of heart palpitations. I went to the ER and they did an EKG that came back normal and the doc said my heart seemed fine. He did indicate that he could see my palpitations on the heart monitor. My blood pressure was 100/65 and my pulse was 65. He tested my TSH and it was at 25. He told me to drop my synthroid down to 50 mcg until I saw my doc because he thought the medication may be the cause of my palpitations.
1685350 tn?1305344023 Can drinking heavily for a few days give me heart palpitations and sweating? I only really experience it when I stand up or do a strenuous activity. I also have bad anxiety. I never seem to experience it until I started drinking again for like a week or so.
Avatar f tn Everytime I eat my heart starts to race for no reason and when I go to sleep in certain positions my heart will start to palpitate and sometimes fast but I can always feel it like it's pumping hard. Does anyone know wut it cud be? Is anyone else having the same thing? I had most of the tests and nothing shows up.
Avatar f tn My endo said I may need to take thyroid hormone replacement therapy meds but he seemed to be a bit concerned about the palpitations and how the medication was going to make my palpitations worse. What's weird is that I actually never had palpitations before my thyroid problems started. Has anyone else here had a similar problem? Did you end up taking thyroid hormone replacement therapy meds and did they make your palpitations worse? or better?
Avatar n tn I googled the med and there are plenty of sites for information. From what I see erythro is not in the same class of drugs as penicillin. As for heart arrhythmias, it seems to be dangerous only if you're taking certain other drugs at the same time. I don't recognize the meds that were listed so it would be better for you to check it for yourself. See if any of those ring a bell for you. I have taken erythromycin in years past, usually for respiratory problems.
Avatar f tn I've had heart palpitations for 10 months, they started right after a hiatus hernia operation. I get them everyday. I get them at different times, while watching tv or just relaxing in bed, doing normal everyday things. I had blood work done and was told I was low on B12 and was told to take 1000 mcg of a supplement daily. While taking it the palpitations got stronger so I stopped taking it and they eased up.
Avatar n tn It is very unlikely that it would cause palpitations. Occasionally, when the heart rate really slows down some people feel forceful contractions which may feel like palpitations. The fullness in the neck really makes me think that you have an SVT that could be easily induced in the EP lab and easily ablated as well. You should see a cardiac electrophysiologist.
Avatar f tn I was also experiencing heaviness in my chest and heart palpitations. Right before I started my medication I had two panic attacks in school for merely being in a crowd that was making a lot of noise. i would also get chronic pain in wrists, ankles, etc. 4 days after I started my medication i shot out of bed and went into another panic attack that had me shivering. I have a terrible fear of death and without my medicine I get panic attacks ...
