cipro

Avatar m tn //www.rxlist.com/cipro-side-effects-drug-center.htm#consumer - insomnia is listed as a side effect here Avoid caffeine if you are on it, or at least several hours before bed. How much longer are you on it?
Avatar m tn It's really important to drink a lot of water and to avoid caffeine when you're on Cipro. Tendinitis is a common side effect of the drug. Drinking a lot of water and staying away from caffeine should help all of your symptoms. The symptoms will probably last until your body returns to normal, whatever that may be for you.
428506 tn?1296557399 As crazy as it may sound, the toughest part ia tolerating an antibiotic they gave me to ward off infection. The brand name is cipro and when I take it I ache terribly all over and get a killer headache. All this despite being on strong (narcotic) pain killers. Surgery was no walk through the park but this proves to me just how awful it can be to live with and treat Lyme & co. Hope all are having a restful weekend!
Avatar f tn I found a post that said that medications from the fluoroquinolone antibiotics (such as Cipro, Levaquin, Tequin, Avelox or Floxin) can cause these symptoms...I took Cipro and Levaquinn about 7 years ago, for a few short days each and my doctor switched the medication saying I was allergic. Now I am wondering if all my symptoms that have gone undiagnosed could be a side effect of those medications. Anyone else able to tie the two together? If so, what can you do to make it better?
Avatar m tn I have been to my PCP and he took a swab and gave me Cipro. The swab was negative and the Cipro did nothing. He sent me to see a ENT and he put me on a throat spray and still nothing. I saw a second ENT and he had no idea what it was or what was causing it. Any ideas ?
Avatar f tn I went back in and told the doctor, he was puzzled, told me to keep taking the cipro as maybe it was about to get worse anyway. The cipro is making me feel sick and exhausted and makes what I'm taking it for worse, so I'm not too thrilled. Any ideas? Google has made me terrified of either IC or a tumor or cancer an I would love some reassurance that it might not be something awful. Thanks!!
Avatar n tn I hope you haven't been taking Cipro for two years! If so, talk to your doctor, that's way too long. But hopefully I just misunderstood you. In any case, I do not think it was the antibacterial medicine that is doing this to you. It can cause nervousness, like caffeine does to people if they drink too much, and rarely a seizure, but neither of those are like what you describe. I know of three things that can cause these "electric jolts": 1.
Avatar m tn It is one of those antibiotics that can really bother some and cause zero effects for others. I would avoid the Rockstar drinks!!! Any caffeine will get you feeling even worse.
Avatar m tn At this point just avoid caffeine, alcohol and spicy foods, drink plenty of fluids and avoid sexual activity ( including masturbation ) for a few days. If a week from now symptoms are unchanged, be seen again for a repeat urinalysis.
Avatar m tn Being prescribed meds over the phone without having a urine culture done was not really a good idea, surprised the doctor did that. While waiting for appointment drink plenty of fluids, avoid caffeine, acid foods and drinks.
Avatar f tn Hi, I can tell you that I had baterial vaginosis last year and only took cipro not the gel and everything was fine.. I've also took cipro for a uti..
Avatar m tn Went to urologist who took urine to culture and put me on Cipro. Ill feeling went away before starting the Cipro but burning got much worse. Several days in got itching and some mild soreness in my anus and one week in got what looks like conjunctivitis. There is no penile discharge but I'm 11 days into the Cipro and no significant improvement in the burning when peeing or my eyes. Three days ago urologist sent me for another urine sample, this time first pee of the morning.
Avatar f tn He cleaned the wound, prescribed a tetanus shot, and antibiotics (Cipro, and Clindamyacin). I asked about rabies and he felt that the chances were pretty remote and didn’t recommend the vaccine. It’s the next morning and I’m feeling a bit nauseous, very slight headache, and lightheaded. I’m also pretty dehydrated, and the wound from the pig is sore and inflamed. My question is, could this be the onset of a bacterial infection? And is the nurse correct in presuming there is no risk for rabies?
Avatar f tn I am being treated for a urinary infections with both antibiotics (Cipro) and antivirals (valtrex) because the cause is unknown. My question is, is it safe to mix both medicines?
Avatar n tn I have taken Cipro for Urniary Tract Infections on and off for about 7 years. Last year the frequency of infections was about every 2 months. This winter I have had less than a month between symptoms. My doctor gave me a prescription for Macrobid in case I need it. I have taken it for the first time the past three days and the infection is still quite apparent especially during the night when I can feel the internal discomfort.
Avatar f tn Be careful with using Cipro and other antibiotics and use it only as directed by your Physician. I was misdiagnoised with a urinary tract infection that time showed it wasn't and was prescribed Cipro. This drug and others in its class have a nasty side effect - mine was labral tears of the right shoulder and right hip. My Mother suffers from sinus infections and she has found that her Chiropractor successfully treats her by draining her sinus.
Avatar n tn Do cipro cause vaginal discharge and oder and disconfort in my stomach and back and sluggishness? This discussion is related to Discomfort after taking Cipro.
Avatar m tn Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
Avatar f tn Thanks u guys!
Avatar m tn I have taken cipro a lot too and it hasn't bothered me before. But I recently took it and after 1 dose my heart started acting weird. Any antibiotic of that class can cause heart palpitations. Unfortunately, most of the antibiotics I can take have that potential side effect, I'm allergic to penicillin.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives. From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.
Avatar n tn I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face. I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.
Avatar n tn is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.
Avatar n tn no, it will effect the medication and either make it not work or intensfy. it will say on the bottle of the medication not to take the meds. with alcohol.
Avatar m tn She prescribed a variation on the original antibiotic regimen, she prescribed the 5-day z-pack and 14 days of Cipro and told me to stop the doxycycline but continue with the metranidazole. I am currently on day 4 of that treatment. Symptoms have improved some but certainly not gone away. I've been reading up on m. genitalium and I'm almost convinced that I've got some super resistant strain of that.
