Avatar m tn For head treatment, I will use Stieprox shampoo with Ciclopirox Olamine 1.5% w/w which relieves my scalps itching & scaling issue.. a bit expensive but it works for me :) I think I will continue using this tablets until I get examined by derma specialist. By the way, is there is any side effects of using this medicine continuously? Thank you in advanced.

Get the conditioner too if you need conditioner, and only use it on the ends - keep all conditioner off your scalp. Neutrogena has no gluten and is very calming to inflamed scalps.

I also wear a showercap on some days as too not wet my hair as I heard that is good for clearing the dandruff. Nothing has worked. I have used many different anti-dandruff shampoo with no luck. My scalp is itchy and feels EXTREMELY dry but at the same time if I run fingers through my hair it feels oily.

But right after I finished taking doxycycline problem came back in full force. Second treatment was low dose isotretinoin - 4 months on 10mg and 4 months on 20mg [8 months in total]. Isotretinoin cleared my scalp 100% just after one week. I was obviously very happy, because during 8 months of my thereapy I didn't had a single pimple on my scalp.

Avatar m tn I was too embarrased to tell of the alcohol incident so i just said i was under anxiety and stress. The doctor gave me ketoconazole foam, 2% and a rx for Ciclopirox shampoo. When i apply the foam it burns a bit but the shampoo is a bit better. What i would like to know is why did she do a fungal skin culture? And your suggestion on what the outcome might be. Also i been suffering from anxiety and stress. Im even anxious of the results i have to go back in 3 weeks.

From what I understand is that I should shower more because of my oily skin and hair, but if I do that the bumps get worse and so does the dryness of my scalp. I shower EVERY morning, so it is not a hygiene issue. I get the occasional pimple on my face due to my oily skin, but I have never had sever acne.

This medication contains a drug called ciclopirox which was recently discovered to kill hiv infected cells in vitro. The percentage of ciclopirox is 6 percent. 1. Since my fungal medication is fat soluble and contains ciclopirox, will it enter the blood stream in enough concentration to affect the accuracy of an hiv antibody test?
