I passed a gonorrhea/chlamydia urine test which came back negative. I went back to the doctor and was given a cream (mixture of cortisone and clotrimaderm) which I used for several days but didn't change anything.
I went back and was prescribed Loprox which I applied 2 times a day for 4 days. The irritation redness subdued and the burning/stinging went away.
Now the skin below the glans feels irritated and sometimes feel a burning sensation, mostly on the top and right side.

I have had a rash on my chin (see picture) for about 5 months now. It started out on the right side of my chin. It would come and go randomly without treatment. About a year ago I had some seborrheic dermatitis around my nose and the derm prescribed me Ertaczo (an anti-fungal). That cleared up the rash right away. I went to my primary physician and showed him the rash on my chin mentioning that it looked similar to the rash I originally had around my nose.
I really would appreciate someone's help with this...
History: In Nov 2008 I started getting a rash in the webs between my fingers. I was told by a doctor that it was a fungus and I used OC fungal meds. It cleared up. Prior the the potential exposure, I was prescribed a topical nail fungus medication (ClearNails Pro) that is fat soluble and claims to penetrate to the nail bed. This medication contains a drug called ciclopirox which was recently discovered to kill hiv infected cells in vitro. The percentage of ciclopirox is 6 percent.
1. Since my fungal medication is fat soluble and contains ciclopirox, will it enter the blood stream in enough concentration to affect the accuracy of an hiv antibody test?
By the way, I'm using clotrimazole, but I'll try using Ciclopirox or some shampoos.
s office but I see a different doctor and I told here this cream is much help and I also showed her my scrotum area which she said right away it was jock itch and that she would give me a different cream. She gave me ciclopirox olamine 30g tube and I've used it since June 28. I'm not sure but what could this be? Jock itch? Herpes? Another skin condition? The pain associated with this is at the least amount during this whole ordeal but I need answers. I've also taken pictures to show.

He told me he didnt see any signs of fungus or yeast, but gave me an antifungal anyways, and told me I have Intertrigo. I am using zeasorb AF powder along with a sparing amount of ciclopirox olamine 0.
He felt that the problem is still related to exceptionally sensitive skin (genetic possibly), but that their is also likely a fungal issue as well. He prescribed 1% HC in Loprox and Fucidin Cream. This apparently has also antibiotics in it to help with the inflammation. My doctor said that oral antifungals are very difficult on the liver and thus at this time he wasn't recommending it. I've started applying this new cream and will update if there are any changes.
Other topicals that are used to treat Pityrosporum folliculitis are ciclopirox olamine cream, econazole cream, alcohol and salicylic acid solution. Retinoids are not very effective. I suggest you to consult a dermatologist and discuss these treatment options with him.

I went to the Doctor and was prescribed Loprox CRM + EMO Cort and antibiotics for the gland. The rash and gland did not go away with this treatment. The fat gland was opened up and drained.
I was sent to a Dermatologist who prescribed 1% Clindamycin in Elidel cream for the morning and Protopic Ointment .1% for the evening. During that period, I have had small pimples come and go (within a few days) on my legs, thighs and buttocks.

I tried lamisil cream for 4 weeks with only a slight improvement and then saw my GP. To treat the problem immediately, avoid scratching because it scars the scalp and hair won't grow. Try Nizoral shampoo to get the skin unclogged and any scales off. Get tested for Celiac disease. You can use any of these to avoid scratching: hydrocortizone 1% cream (I hate the liquid "lotions" that the doctors love), Benadryl gel (very cooling) or even aloe vera gel. Just don't scratch. Stop eating sugary foods and drinks.
yeah your prob right grace, just paranoid i guess my ex gf has cold sores, after the last sexual encounter in may i developed balanitis which my doctor treated with loprox. but my penis was fine from may until now, thanks for the response.
