Avatar m tn Other topicals that are used to treat Pityrosporum folliculitis are ciclopirox olamine cream, econazole cream, alcohol and salicylic acid solution. Retinoids are not very effective. I suggest you to consult a dermatologist and discuss these treatment options with him. I sincerely hope it helps. Take care and please do keep us posted on how you are doing. Warm regards.
Avatar f tn Hello, everyone. I have had a rash on my chin (see picture) for about 5 months now. It started out on the right side of my chin. It would come and go randomly without treatment. About a year ago I had some seborrheic dermatitis around my nose and the derm prescribed me Ertaczo (an anti-fungal). That cleared up the rash right away. I went to my primary physician and showed him the rash on my chin mentioning that it looked similar to the rash I originally had around my nose.

Avatar n tn ok so i went to the doctor a few month ago to get these brown spots i have on my stomach and near the underarms. like right under where you grow your armpit hair and above it also. when i went to the doctors they told me that they knew what it was but they couldn't pull up a picture for me. i kinda forgot what she said it was called but then she gave me a prescription for it. it's ciclopirox cream 0.77% .i've been using it ever since i got it but i just noticed that it got worser.
Avatar n tn Prior the the potential exposure, I was prescribed a topical nail fungus medication (ClearNails Pro) that is fat soluble and claims to penetrate to the nail bed. This medication contains a drug called ciclopirox which was recently discovered to kill hiv infected cells in vitro. The percentage of ciclopirox is 6 percent. 1. Since my fungal medication is fat soluble and contains ciclopirox, will it enter the blood stream in enough concentration to affect the accuracy of an hiv antibody test?
Avatar m tn By the way, I'm using clotrimazole, but I'll try using Ciclopirox or some shampoos.
Avatar m tn s office but I see a different doctor and I told here this cream is much help and I also showed her my scrotum area which she said right away it was jock itch and that she would give me a different cream. She gave me ciclopirox olamine 30g tube and I've used it since June 28. I'm not sure but what could this be? Jock itch? Herpes? Another skin condition? The pain associated with this is at the least amount during this whole ordeal but I need answers. I've also taken pictures to show.
Avatar n tn (butt crack). he gave me some antifungal cream/steroid and sent me on my way. That was three weeks ago. the rash still looks the same (light brown) Last week, i went to another dermatologist for a second opinion. He told me he didnt see any signs of fungus or yeast, but gave me an antifungal anyways, and told me I have Intertrigo. I am using zeasorb AF powder along with a sparing amount of ciclopirox olamine 0.
1337483 tn?1383544183 in 2005 I went to a dermatologist to see about the problem at the time it was only in a certain part of my head, there was just redness and itchyness at first but now its like bumps and when I scratch them (I cannot stop its sooo annoying) they bleed...she gave me doxycyclin and some cream to pt on the area...for a while it worked and I ran out of the meds...It was ok for about two years then it started reappearing but not as bad with the itchiness so I let it go...
Avatar m tn The only thing I tried (out of desperation) which caused no reaction was a very diluted solution of baking soda in water, but it was not very friendly to my hair. After looking on the internet, and seeing that coco betaine is a common cause of dermatitis, and given that every shampoo I have tried has contained coco-betaine, am thinking that it is the most likely culprit.
Avatar f tn Im 32weeks and will be 33weeks tomorrow. I need a name of a cream or solution for itchiness coming from my vagina. Its an itchiness that comes and goes and sometimes burns as i use the wasroom. If anyone can please help me out i would appreciate it !
Avatar n tn I tried lamisil cream for 4 weeks with only a slight improvement and then saw my GP. He prescribed ciclopirox which I used for 5 weeks with maybe 25-50% improvement, but it would occasionally flare and come back just as strong. Went back to the GP and he suggested maybe the fungus was almost gone and that it was more inflammation than anything. To be sure, he prescribed oral ketoconazole for 2 weeks and prescription hydrocortisone.
Avatar m tn I visited my doctor last Monday and he thought it was fungal and prescribed Ciclopirox Olamine Cream 0.77% anti-fungal and 7 x Fluconazole 200mg tablets antibiotic, one per day for seven days. Nothing affected the rashes visibly or stopped it from spreading. Today I went to a friend's hospital laboratory and they took two skin KOH prep skin scrapping done. Samples were obtained from my foot and upper right arm, result was NO yeast and NO fungal elements were detected.
Avatar n tn This is for the past two weeks with persistent irritation.I applied canestan cream, and Nystatin cream too. But to no help. What do I do now? Please reply a solution.
Avatar f tn Her workplace has now changed cleaners, but the dryness and swollen eyes persist, especially in the morning. We have tried every kind of cream from vitamin E to aloe vera to cortisone cream (prescribed by the doctor) - the areas behind her ears and neck are very sore and oozing somewhat - any ideas as to what we can do.
Avatar n tn The scalp should be washed with a mild normal shampoo as often as desired. Antidandruff shampoos containing antifungal agents such as ketoconazole or ciclopirox are sometimes helpful. Apart from that you need topical and oral antibiotics, antihistamines, oral steroids and topical tretinoin. My sincere advice is to get it examined from a dermatologist.
Avatar m tn That was the first sign I have Celiac disease. To treat the problem immediately, avoid scratching because it scars the scalp and hair won't grow. Try Nizoral shampoo to get the skin unclogged and any scales off. Get tested for Celiac disease. You can use any of these to avoid scratching: hydrocortizone 1% cream (I hate the liquid "lotions" that the doctors love), Benadryl gel (very cooling) or even aloe vera gel. Just don't scratch. Stop eating sugary foods and drinks.
Avatar n tn elidel cream 1% which has been the most amazing cream ive ever used (though i had to pay 350$ for a 100g tube), an anti inflammatory pill that makes the redness go completely away within 30min-1hr, and a RX anti fungal lotion ( ciclopirox olamine topical suspension usp .77% 85$). these things together have given me the GREATEST skin ive ever had. my skin is looks even better than normal with the combination of all three.
Avatar f tn I began to use a petroleum like body cream - that only kept my skin moisturized. The itchiness persisted. Then I tried calamine and it's pretty much all I can use although I have to continue to reapply. The rash has spread to the side of the front of my neck and across the back. A few days ago, my eyelid began to itch too. Now my forehead and right side of my cheek. I purchased T-gel shampoo for my itchy scalp and using the calamine lotion but now it hurts to put on clothes.
Avatar m tn Thanks Grace for the response. I visited my primary doctor again and he said since he does not see blisters now, he still thinks it is yeast infection and the rash that i have now(it is healing now) also looks like a fungal infection and asked me to use "Ciclopirox Olamine Topical cream" for another 10 days and get the blood test IGg and IGM (AB) for Herpes done after that since it will be 6 weeks after outbreak and antibodies should have developed by then if there is an infection.
Avatar f tn Then I went for a check up and the doctor prescribed me itraconazole 100 mg and terbinafine 250 mg oral solution and Luliconazole cream. Infection was cured completely. But now again it has appeared on my body. Specifically on my neck. I am having the same oral solution and using Clotrimazole topical cream. But it's not effective like before. Instead of being cured it's spreading. I am also using ketoconazole soap for bathing.
Avatar m tn but my dermatologist said its not necessary prescribed me ketoconazole cream, fluconazole (DIflucan 2 tablets), desonide cream, ciclopirox cream, and nothing has worked. I looked up candida and matched a lot of the symptoms and even did the water spit test and I saw a bunch of strands drooping down to the bottom of the cup. I thought it was candida so I tried the candida diet and bought 50 bill probiotic caps, grapefruit seed extract pills, and caprylic acid pills.
Avatar m tn spots responded to Canestin HC cream. Saline solution (2L, 1%) wash, tissue and hair dryer drying of penis head twice daily. urologist agrees with the bolinitis diagnosis and if does not clear solution may be circumsision. Motivation for full candidas diet -No sugars, reduced fats etc Pain is now only in the mornings not during the day, much reduced but after 5 weeks.
Avatar n tn Apply warm compresses using burrow’s solution for 10 to 15 minutes every day. This solution can be made at home using one tablespoon (15 ml) of white vinegar and mixing with one cup of warm water (315 ml). A broad spectrum antibiotic cream containing Polymyxin or bacitracin should help. You can even clean the area with betadine solution. Do visit the dermatologist because if it is persistent they may suggest laser therapy.
1285444 tn?1271772333 Antidandruff shampoos containing antifungal agents such as ketoconazole or ciclopirox are sometimes helpful. Also take some oral antihistaminics like Benadryl. Specific treatment consists of topical and oral antibiotics for which I suggest you to consult a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist.
