Avatar f tn Signs of toxicity and symptoms of withdrawal have been reported in infants following high doses or chronic maternal use close to term. Diphenhydramine has been evaluated for the treatment of hyperemesis gravidarum. It is generally not considered the antihistamine of choice for treating allergic rhinitis or nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Breast-Feeding Considerations Infants may be more sensitive to the effects of antihistamines.
Avatar n tn Hi! I am not sure if GERD can be a result of a parent taking Suboxone. I'm sure it's possible. You could check to see what class of drug it is as it relates to pregnancy. However, I do know that GERD is pretty common in infants. I took my son, 9 at the time, to a pediatric gastroenterologist for chronic vomiting. (He's doing very well now!) There were so many strollers with tiny babies in the office!!! I asked the doc why so many babies.
Avatar n tn Her gastro doctor had her tested for this due to frequent vomiting (she still grew at an impressive rate and was in good spirits most days). Is vomiting a common sympton of c diff in infants? She is on antibiotics right now and I am very hopeful that this will cure her of her frequent vomiting. Also, she has never had diarhea, as a matter of fact, she has been constipated since she was 3 months old and has been given a dose of Myrilax daily. Can c diff also be the cause of constipation?
Avatar n tn My mother is in the hospital for the third time in a month with chronic vomiting. Nothing stays down she can't even drink water. And the doctors have done some test but say that she is just depressed. She has not eaten in over two months and I just don't know what to do she is just melting away. Please help!
Avatar n tn In 1994 I started vomiting on a daily basis. Sometimes a couple times a day, sometimes once. Every once in a while I'll go for a day without vomiting. Very little pattern to it. Only pattern I've recognized is that ice cream will almost always result in vomiting within about 10 minutes. Otherwise it can happen on an empty stomach, a full stomach, or anywhere in between. Dairy products or no dairy products.
Avatar n tn Infants have weaker immune systems because of this and other antibodies are in lower supply also, compared to adults anyway. Chronic recurring upper respiratory infections are extremely common in anyone with immune deficiency. Beyond this I don't know what to add except it's very important that they identify the specific pathogen(s) that is making him sick, because there can be atypical infections from bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites.
Avatar m tn Abstract Mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B virus (HBV) is among the most important causes of chronic HBV infection and is the commonest mode of transmission worldwide. Currently, the presence of HBsAg, HBeAg and HBV DNA in breast milk is confirmed. Several studies have reported that breastfeeding carries no additional risk that might lead to vertical transmission.
Avatar m tn Im currently having one of the spells right now , about 18 hours in , started with burps , vomiting at 5 hours in along with stomach pain and gas , general dehydration due to not being able to keep anything down ,.
Avatar f tn I have chronic EBV and also undergoing treatment for possible chronic lyme. The two tests I had for EBV to determine it was chronic was the EBV IGG VCA BY IFA and the EPSTEIN-BARR EARLY AG (R+D) IGG, IFA. I have the muscle pain, fatigue, GI problems, rashes, plus a multitude of other problems. These symptoms do describe Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome. This condition can be disabling. The stomach pain and the vomiting could be associated with other conditions as well.
Avatar m tn Data are lacking on TDF treatment throughout pregnancy in mothers with active chronic hepatitis B (CHB). We evaluate the safety and efficacy of TDF therapy in such mothers and their infant outcomes. Methods: We retrospectively enrolled CHB mothers who received TDF (300 mg/day) throughout their pregnancy between 1/2011-5/2013 and assessed mother-infant outcomes. All infants received appropriate immunoprophylaxis.
Avatar n tn I have suffered from migraines, fibromyalgia, blood pressure problems, depression, diabetes, bipolar disorder, chronic asthmatic bronchitis, chronic fatigue syndrome, & I suffered a fall last June that resulted in major head trauma in which I was in a coma for 3 days. All of my MRI's are normal. My migraines are almost daily at this time. The neurologist are suggesting botox treatments for my migraines.
1361044 tn?1277598308 Honestly, in my opinion, babies are so wrapped up in this new world, all the new things going in for them, that a little cold (virus) hardly slows them down. it could be your baby is behind because she doesn't feel well all the time, and THAT is holding her back. Maybe not, but in either case I would push for them to figure it out. Chalking it all down to a virus is a lazy, sorry excuse. My point is, YOU DO know your child more than anyone.
Avatar f tn I feel Gerd and milk allergy are grossly overdiagnosed in infants. Lactose overload has been diagnosed in breast-fed infants now - and I believe it is also found in babies.
Avatar f tn My jack russell terrier was in acute kidney failure last month and is now in chronic. Her blood work, off the charts in some areas, has normalised but her urine showed high protein and she has high blood pressure; she is taking enalapril for both of these. She is on Hills KD and has shown improvement in weight gain, appetite, zest for life, her coat looks fantastic. But I can't seem to control her vomiting for more than a few days.
Avatar m tn Dear Rjthkids, Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a virus that can cause severe pulmonary infections in infants. The effects of this, especially in the still developing lungs after birth, can take a long time from which to recover. However, you have a special circumstance that complicates things: you live at significant altitude. The relative lack of oxygen at that altitude can lead to elevated blood pressure across the lungs, which is called pulmonary hypertension.
Avatar m tn I was told to but a little gas X (something sold in the states over the counter for infants who have acid reflux/heartburn, indigestion, etc.) either in the corner of his mouth after feeding or in his bottle when I gave him a bottle. It got better. But that is just my story and I can not advise you really as you have worked with doctors and that is where you need to get info from. All the best and please let me know how it goes, okay?
Avatar f tn The slow transit gut was caused by an operation to remove some ovarian cysts, which means I have bad chronic constipation. 24 hours after going to the loo, I vomit pretty badly sometimes its stomach acid, sometiimes its bile. What can I do, the vomiting is making me feel really bad and I finding it harder and harder to recover from.
Avatar n tn Normally I have no vomiting with the nausea, but about once a month the nausea will be severe and with vomiting. The vomiting will last anywhere from 8-16 hours straight, and I am unable to keep food, water, or even my own saliva down without vomiting. Last episode was on 6/1. Lasted about 10 hours and I was unable to eat that day or the next day due to nausea. 6/3 I woke with no nausea and I was starving? I have had no problems in the past with my stomach or nausea.
Avatar f tn I have had chronic nausea for the last two years.I have had every test there is to have done, scopes, gall bladder, ultrasounds, gastric emptying, hundreds of blood tests, food sensitivies, celiac disease tests, food allergy tests, and many more. It doesn't make a difference what kind of food I eat, although i eat alot of bland foods because of the awful feeling,I have been tested for milk intolerance. I am so tired of getting up every day and being sick.
172023 tn?1334672284 I am concerned about the vomiting. Maybe your dog should also be on digestive enzymes. I think that the vomiting should be investigated, maybe with endoscopy with biopsy. 4. Dogs with chronic urolithiasis and chronic urinary tract infections should be monitored diagnostically by frequent urinalysis's (every 2-3 months) and by bladder X-rays every 3 months. Bladder X-Rays do show struvite/triple phosphate crystals, whereas ultrasound is necessary for other crystal types.
