Common Questions and Answers about Chronic stress test

stress

Avatar f tn After going to ER with chest discomfort, they let me go diagnosing me with stress and anxiety.(my mom is very ill in another state). However, my family doctor ordered a nuclear stress test with Lexicon. I've had 2 in previous years, which ALONG with previous EKG's, have always shown same abnormality. THIS TIME, my results were told to me as "intermittent". What does this mean? I'm a 54 year old female, with chronic back pain due to a disabling car wreck 20 years ago.
Avatar f tn I had a sick headache, nausea and dizziness which just got worse during the day. My blood pressure 2 hrs after the stress test was something over 96...the test showed no problems with my heart, but my pressure jumped to about 200 over 100 during the test. I did not feel better until they told me I was dehydrated, even though I had been drinking water and juice all day, and I drank many electrolyte drinks. What was this? They had no answer.
Avatar n tn I experienced relief from my chronic active epstein barr virus symptoms after a cardiac stress test. I was injected with 10.6 mCi Myoview and Lexiscan 0.4 mg. My symptoms disappeared for five days and now are back. I have suffered with CAEBV for three years now. DESPERATE FOR A CURE. Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn There is some research that links chronic stress to the body releasing the labour starting hormones but my dr said its more likely just to increase your blood pressure and make you unwell making intervention more necessary. Try to relax as much as possible and just think in the next 1-3wks you'll be cuddling your baby!

Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone out there has had a positive exercise stress test and a negative stress echo test. My cardiologist said since my stress echo was negative there is a low probability of me having heart disease. I have been have chest pain with left arm and jaw discomfort on and off for 1 1/2 weeks. I am a non smoker, no high blood pressures, no diabetes, and good cholesterol. I am a 43 year old female. My father had his first heart attack at 50 and died at 60 so I have a family history.
Avatar n tn We live in a global society which makes it almost impossible to escape chronic stress-overload. It is the hypersensitive/hyperreactive individuals with, as Gabor Mate (Canadian M.D. and author) puts it, "emotional allergies", who are living out the roles of the canaries in this mine that is our world. A still-greater commitment in the medical community to awareness, education, and further research on the connection between emotional and physical health is crucial.
Avatar m tn yes malalaman dun sa profile kung acute o chronic ka. kung acute case ka, may posibilidad pang maging non-reactive ung virus mo.
3539331 tn?1347554407 I have flutters or irregular heatbeats off and on. I am afraid of the heart test like the stress test. I am scared that I have blockage like my mother. Should I have the heart tests done? Or because of my emotional makeup would I be better off not knowing. And , are my palpitations a sign or heart disease?
Avatar m tn the dubotomine stress test prior to the stenting said it showed positive for ischemia affecting heart wall in three places. EF was 70.19%. What was notable about this test was that I am perfectly normal at low and medium dose of the dubotamine. Maybe I should lust live like that - low and medium pulse? All the grim looking stats came at high dose with pulse at 120. That's high for an 81-year-old? It would take me a fair sprint along the road to get it up to that level.
Avatar m tn Good Day, I am having a stress echo soon. I have some logistical questions and maybe 1 or 2 more. First, why can't you eat within 6 hours of the test? Is it because it would effect the test readings, or is it just because they are worried about you vomiting or being too bloated to exercise? I was also wondering, will they make me exercise until my HR reaches 220 minus my age? Is that the idea? Finally, the last part of my question. I am obese.
1453933 tn?1285260910 While some amount of stress in unavoidable in our lives, trying to minimize chronic stress can really help out with a lot of health issues. Try hard to set aside a few minutes each day to do something that truly relaxes you; reading, hot bath, meditating etc. I like to sing at the top of my voice :-) Sounds trivial, but it might be the best thing you can do!! Good luck to you!!
Avatar f tn It was " suggested " that I have a stress test. It's not mandatory so I'm wondering if I should have one done at all. Has anyone had a stress test? If so what did the results reveal?
Avatar f tn I have an apt today to do a stress test since am over due. I want to go in there informed, does anyone know what it is or whats going to happen?
Avatar f tn In a low risk pregnancy a non stress test or stress test would only be warranted if their was a concern. However diabetics (both gestational and non) have a higher rate of stillborn babies (still rare, but better to be safe) so its common practice to keep a closer eye as the pregnancy nears the end.
