Avatar n tn m 23 and have gotten these stress blisters for about 5 years- mainly on my hands but once or twice on my toes. They do go away. Yesterday it was barely perceptible on my left index finger while I was practicing guitar repeatedly with much stress focussed on that finger (playing a barred chord over and over with said finger). When my boyfirend got home we fought some about lack of communication again and the state of the kitchen etc.
Avatar m tn I was told that Chronic pain can cause stress and stress can cause pain- it can be a viscous cycle. I have headaches, back pain, head pressure, vision disturbances, and so on... I am seeing a professional to try relaxation training utilizing biofeedback and possibly self hypnosis to cope with pain. It won't take away the pain but hopefully will help "distract". Has anyone else tried this? If so, how did it work for you?
Avatar f tn The documentary also details The Whitehall Study, one of the most significant long term studies on the effects of stress which revealed, among many other invaluable insights, that chronic stress can cause people to gain weight in very specific localised parts of the body, especially around the abdomen; and work conducted by a Californian researcher showed that chronic stress can frazzle your dna and literally kill you by shortening your life, It's extremely serious and something we've h
Avatar f tn There is some research that links chronic stress to the body releasing the labour starting hormones but my dr said its more likely just to increase your blood pressure and make you unwell making intervention more necessary. Avatar m tn Masturbation is very healthy and will make sex with a partner more enjoyable and safer because it is teaching you what is normal for your body, sexual response and letting you explore your sexuality. This means when you have sex you can better tell your partner how to stimulate you, this not only makes sex more enjoyable but also helps prevent pain and vaginal damage during penetration.
Avatar f tn I was told it was stress, that I had a somatization disorder, and told to go on Prozac and seek therapy. I"m only 35! I then found another doctor who happened to be an ILADS trained LLMD (Lyme Literate MD). She did a Western Blot test from a lab called Igenex. I came back highly positive for lyme and some "co-infections" (Bartonella and Babesia.) I never had a rash nor do I remember a bite. Lyme is in all 50 states. I'm now in treatment and am 90% better!

1453933 tn?1285260910 While some amount of stress in unavoidable in our lives, trying to minimize chronic stress can really help out with a lot of health issues. Try hard to set aside a few minutes each day to do something that truly relaxes you; reading, hot bath, meditating etc. I like to sing at the top of my voice :-) Sounds trivial, but it might be the best thing you can do!! Good luck to you!!

I thought it was a string of bad luck for me but bad luck shouldn't last my whole life or at least to what I have left. 1277082 tn?1344057820 the stress and its direct effects on my body. I could feel the tension in it. (in my neck and shoulders mostly) I could feel the adrenaline surges (shaking, fast heartbeat). I've heard that meditation in enormously helpful for getting in touch with your body and the stress you are feeling! 376182 tn?1283273738 Started in my neck and now working my way down to my lower back. Based on what redding1 said I want to assume that my stress caused the initial muscle tension and my trying to compensate for the pain has created more tension down the rest of my back. I am thinking I will try the massage thing. If you do the same let us know how it works out. Massages do relax you and this might bring the stress levels down enough to losen the muscles.
