I cannot stress enough about how rest is for stroke recovery. After a stroke your
brain has a bruise, or a dead spot. Your
brain tries to re-wire around to dead spot, and does. But the best work it does is when you are asleep. The brain never sleeps.
For me, right after my stroke, I had to have cat naps all day. It was not like me and I tried to fight it. But I finally realized that when I let my body told me what it needed to do, I started to recover more quickly.
