Avatar f tn Hello, I need opinions. I've had chronic foot pain for over two years. I've seen podiatrists, neurologists, rheumatologists, endocrinologists, chiropractors, alternative med doctors, and several other types of specialists. I've had a spinal tap, MRIs, X-rays, brain scans, ENGs, nerve conduction studies, TONS of bloodwork, and electrostimulation. I've bought new shoes, changed my diet drastically, detoxed my body, and so many other things to try to help.
Avatar m tn I have osteoarthritis and had fusion surgery in May on my right foot big toe that goes numb. The pain would start in my hip/buttock area on the left side and would go down to my outer shin area. After about 2 weeks of this, I went to my osteo doc., and he sent me for an MRI. This last Tuesday I had two MRI's one with and one without contrast. My doc. gave me an injection in my hip prior to the MRI thinking it was bursitis. It did not help. He also put me on a 5.

Avatar f tn Yes. Certain types of chronic pain is a learned response of the spinal cord to peripheral nerve pain. The nervous system can "unlearn" chronic pain if the peripheral pain stimulus is blocked. However, each pain syndrome is unique based on many factors, like length and severity of pain, location and type of pain stimulus, and the microanatomy of one's spinal cord. I do hope your doctor's plan works and frees you from this life of chronic pain. Best wishes.

Avatar m tn My worry is whether it is really epididymitis or something else relating to nerve. I have pain in my left foot, left knee, left genitals, left hand. The pain in left hand and left genitals are severe at times. Infact I can see the pain in my left hand progressed. Now I'm having numbness as well in my left hand. The pain all the way radiates to my left cheek sometimes.

Avatar f tn I have chronic radiculopathy pain in my great toe. I have foot drop same side following spontaneous bone fragmentation L4-5. I had emergency back surgery 30 hours after onset of foot drop but did not help. This was one year ago. Now I have foot drop, chronic back pain & electrical type sensation/radiculopathy in great toe. I have tried epidural steroids, acupuncture, & Gabapentin. Does anyone else have any ideas to manage toe pain besides narcotic?
Avatar n tn I recently went running and afterwards I had a pretty sharp pain on the left side of my left foot, from the middle of my foot to the heel, although the pain is centered around the arch area. I hadn't gone running in a while and just attributed it to a typical out of shape aches and pains (my legs were also sore) that are normal and go away within a few days. It still hurt for a few days afterward but seemed to be getting better.
721804 tn?1230618567 The pain had started in my palm, but has expanded throughout my hand and now lasts several hours. I have also started experiencing pain in my sacrum and left foot. I am so frustrated because no one can seem to find the cause of my problem, and I am in more pain each day. I have noticed that I never experience pain in the morning, that it usually begins in the afternoon, and that stress can be a trigger (although not the only one.
Avatar f tn Sub has been prescribed for pain as the European formulary Temgesic for years. That said, I am a chronic pain patient and it did nothing for me for pain.
1062275 tn?1254661352 I have two concerns that come from my experience with chronic pain. One is that you gave up an office position that may have been more manageable given your chronic pain condition. Physical activity is good for all of us but you can add it to your daily routine without making it a work requirement. I hope if down the road you find you need a less physically demanding position that you will have the opportunity to return to the office.
Avatar m tn Because it was not caught right away, I have 24/7 chronic pain. I have permanent nerve damage. Almost everyday I wish they would have taken my foot.
Avatar f tn He tries to interact with me and the kids and sometime he can but most time he sits or lays down in pain. Nothing he takes for pain works..he been on meds for almost 5 months now and his primary doctor say she is not a pain doctor so she can't help him. What should we do???
Avatar m tn For approximately 10 years, I have suffered from severe, predominately right-sided chronic neck, upper back, shoulder muscle and nerve pain that radiates down into my hand. I also have some pain in numbness in my right foot, ankle and knee. I was diagnosed with moderate cervicothoracic scoliosis as a child but did not have braces or other treatment. My right shoulder is lower than my left, my head tilts to the right and my right shoulder rolls forward.
Avatar f tn HI there aluchsinger. I'll give you my opinion. Many regular family doctors don't usually write for long term narcotics, partly because of the media frenzy and people who think chronic pain can be completely managed in other ways. In my opinion, many people who say those kinds of things don't have much of a clue what its like to live and trying to work with chronic pain. Its totally different that acute pain.
Avatar m tn Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern. From your description of symptoms, it seems that it could be a nerve irritation of back. By the reason of that nerves from the spinal cord can be irritated causing leg pain and numbness, tingling, or weakness in the leg or big toe.
