Avatar f tn There is a pregnant women Medicaid in Texas or Chip Perinatal program depending on your income you either have a co-payment or not. It (chip perinatal) only covers up to 20 Dr visits and 2 post partum visit. After that it only covers the baby. I looked into insurances but they are pretty expensive like $400 amonth,(for me at the time). If not talk to your Dr they can put you on a payment plan they usually give like 10-20% off to self pay.
Avatar n tn It has pregnancy too but ive never heard of it before.

5574172 tn?1376700381 Health Insurance Premium Payment The Health Insurance Premium Payment program (HIPP) is a Medicaid program that helps families pay for private health insurance. This program is for families who have: A parent or a spouse with private health insurance. AND A child or a spouse with Medicaid. Avatar f tn So because she cannot work she is not longer covered for health insurance, but she does qualify for medicaid. I however do not qualify because I am 21. I do not have a full time job and cannot afford to pay a deductible for insurance. I also cannot qualify for any Indiana medicaid programs appropriate for my age because I live in SC for school. Is there any kind of out of state medicaid I could qualify for?
Avatar f tn Sooooo Medicaid denied me and told me to reapply! And husbands insurance wont give me coverage because pregnancy is a preexisting condition. And he tried to work it to where it would cover my bills under His name but hey, being an expectant father is a preexisting condition, too! So I'm reapplying for Medicaid and until they freaking approve me I am going to get my routine checkups at the freaking health department!
Avatar f tn I was interested in seeing how many of us have health insurance vs no health insurance.

979281 tn?1248390708 You're okay to wait. I think the only test you may miss out on is the Nuchal Translucency test...they do this at about 14 weeks. It's an ultrasound and they also do blood markers around this point. However, you're young and it may not even be something they'd do on you anyways. Is CHIPS a Medicaid program? You should be able to get on it fairly quickly. Just keep calling them a lot. But in general you're not missing anything too important at this point.
228463 tn?1216761521 These are all wonderful suggestions, I lost my insurance a few weeks ago and I applied for the Hospital program and the Physician program where I go and I was accepted into both!!! This was wonderful news to me especially after I found out my recent hospital stay was not going to be covered by my prior insurance.

Avatar f tn Medicaid is federally funded health insurance offered to low-income individuals. Check your state program - each state has its own Medicaid program.
1967803 tn?1325679473 is because my neurologist was reluctant to enter in an official diagnosis. I am currently without health insurance and we speculated that nobody would touch me with a 10 foot pole if I claimed a pre-existing condition. I've been covered my entire life except for the last 4-5 months when I was asymptomatic and decided to relocate. Funny how that turned out. That's when I wound up in the ER (uninsured, awesome, I know) but I could barely see and I was too scared to try to wait it out.
Avatar f tn If you're in the USA than I believe by law, health insurance must cover pregnancy appointments and delivery. It doesn't matter if your on your parents insurance or not. Now, how much they pay could be iffy so you're best bet is to call or ask your mom to call. One thing to think about, grandchildren cannot be extended on to the grandparents health insurance most of the time.
Avatar f tn Can someone give me some info on this stuff? I've always had amazing insurance but now that I am oregano with my 2nd and with someone who can support our family I am having to apply for medicaid which is perfectly fine I'm just now sure how the star program works I picked an insurance provider but I still don't really understand how it works any help would be great.

Avatar f tn There are many different companies that provide free insulin and many other types of medications (click on the Brand or Generic name drugs link, then click the first letter of the type of medication you use and it should show up on the list), and there is one company (Abbott—the makers of FreeStyle and Precision Xtra test strips) that will provide a monthly supply of free test strips and lancets (all FreeStyle or Precision Xtra brand, and they also give you one of their FreeStyle or Precision
Avatar n tn Apply for Medicaid even if you don't think you qualify. After reading forums about being pregnant without health insurance I was really nervous. I applied for Medicaid and now I am fully covered for 10 months (i thought i wouldn't qualify). Apply as soon as possible as they do take a few weeks to respond.

Avatar f tn I'm a first time mommy, 17+6 weeks & I just got approved for medicaid. My fiancé & I want to get married within the next two weeks. He missed the deadline for insurance through his work, so he wouldn't be able to cover me through his insurance until next year, so would I still be able to have insurance through medicaid, or would it be taken away since we would be married? I know it's kind of a personal qurstion, but I'm very confused & not sure how all this will work.
