Several years ago I had the same problem but everything went aways once my gallbladder was removed. The episodes of vomiting and diarrhea last anywhere from hours to 2 days. I have recorded what I am eating to see if it is a food allergy but only thing i have found in the past week is butter makes me sick but not other dairy products. I went to a chiroprator that gave me a questionare about health sympotms and he recommeded me having my thyroid checked.
Has anything been done to rid her of the impacted stool? When a child get impacted like this, a ball of stool forms and everything that can, goes around it, resulting in leakage or diarrhea. But I don't know where the vomiting would come from. Vomiting accompanied with diarrhea is serious in a young child like this. I would get her in to see a pediatric gastroenterologist ASAP!
My daughter is 3. She has been to the hospital. They diagnosed her as having a small abdominal blockage. I have followed up with other Dr 's. All assure me that she's fine. She's been vomiting for two weeks. Every few days at first, now daily. It smells terrible. She wont eat, but is drinking some. She's had a minimal amount of diarrhea with no normal bowel movements. Stomach is distended and she complains of pain. She is playful when not vomiting. I'm terrified.

Hi, I'm approx 8 weeks along. I have been vomiting for 24hrs and have had diarrhea too. I haven't been able to eat anything for around 36hrs without bringing it straight back up (I tried plain crackers and dry toast). Even sipping water has me vomiting within 15/20mins of doing so. Question is, should I go see a Dr or maybe there is something I can get from a chemist that can help? Or is this normal and I just need to ride it out? Getting concerned as I feel quite dehydrated...
gave some more small amounts of fluids but still vomited again. No sign of fever and no diarrhea. Playful and happy but still vomiting...and is sound asleep now.
I can tell he is hungry but he is gagging anytime we give fluids or solids....we are frustrated and not sure what to do. We just find it strange that he basically has no other symptom and are concerned about his minimal food and liquids. We also find it strange that there is basically no other symptom but vomiting.
So I've been having a lot of diarrhea on and off for the last 2 weeks. And a lot of vomiting too. Dr says its something I ate but I know my body and this isn't no stomach bug. I'm 29+2 weeks pregnant with my second child. Nausea is back and with it came diarrhea and some really painful vaginal pains.. Is this normal? Never had any of these things with my first child.
3 weeks later, he vomits 1-2x/day for 5 days in a row with severely reduced appetite but no diarrhea and soft stools. After 5 days of vomiting, he had one day with no BM and no vomiting, then the next day frequent diarrhea. We again figured he had a virus and just bad luck. Took him back to the pediatrician after 6 days of diarrhea, but no more vomiting. We did a stool culture and sensitivity, check for rotavirus and c-diff. All negative.
If he keeps vomiting or the diarrhea gets bad, he does need emergency care, simply because his water intake will not keep up with his dehydration risk. A tiny dog is at greater risk too.
If he stabilizes, and there is no more vomiting etc, then just fast him completely for 24 hours with just water, then try him again with plain boiled rice, then if he keeps that down and seems hungry, gradually start mixing some plain boiled white fish or chicken breast in with the rice.
Not wanting to eat is not as much of a concern as not drinking is - a child can dehydrate very quickly and dehydration can be very serious, especially in a child. Dehydration will also happen a lot faster if the child is also vomiting and/or has diarrhea or a fever.

My son has had diarrhea for almost 2 weeks now, and I have taken him to the doctor twice. They say give him plenty of fluids and let it run its coarse. His stool went from watery to stringy and bright green, now it is bright green mixed with dark brown (looks like coffee grounds) and is still stringy. He vomited 3 times today and wont eat, and barely drinks. I am running out of things to think of. I don't know what else to do. It is 5:42pm here and I have changed him 6 times today already.
