chest

Avatar m tn Claritin is helping a lot with the post nasal drip, but now the junk in my chest seems tight and I have a dry, unproductive cough. Should I try mucinex to loosen up the chest and continue with Claritin?
Avatar n tn It has been always five weeks since I was discharged from hospital now and since then I have developed chest tightness in the central region each time I take a deep breath. I also notice that I now feel tire easily and can't do any strenous work as my chest area feel kind of tight and tender. The latest x-ray results (two days ago) showed nothing and the nurse told me that my lungs are all clear. But right now as I write, I feel something not normal with my chest as it feels tight.
Avatar f tn I am not able to identify my allergy trigger since I cough through out the day, always, every where, though dust, artificial smells aggravate cough. Breathlessness and tightness in chest scare me. Should I check Asthma or COPD or anything else. Pl. advise.
Avatar n tn My symptoms include a lot of pressure in my chest, have a unproductive cough, then I start to struggle to talk, I wheeze and become very hoarse, and struggle to swallow at times. They have so far done blood test which came back with my white blood count being significantly low and my doctor is ordering for chest x rays. I'm concerned and was hoping someone might know what this might be?
Avatar f tn Anyways, so I started to panic that I was having a server reaction. Ever since that day my chest feel thight like I dont have enough air or like I cant take a deep enough breath. I went to the Doc the day after the shot they did chest x-ray, blood work, and spirometer thing. All came back ok :) So anyways I am still having this issue. It was coming and going like if I am side tracked or busy its ok or when I first wake up before I am thinking about it its ok.
Avatar f tn Is it possible that asthma sytmptoms of coughing, and tighteness in chest and mucus can be caused by advanced invasion of roundworms in the lungs? I have had very unproductive coughing and some times I get a clump of rather dry mucus that tooks like spagetti or worms. I also have fatigue and a feeling of fullness all of the time.
Avatar f tn I have had this tickling in my chest for about 2 days now, with little to no cough. I have also had tightness in my chest for the last couple of days, but that's slightly normal for me because I have reactive airway disorder. Could this just be allergy related ? I have no productive cough, but feel like this may be mucus. Any advice or info would be appreciated, thanks!
Avatar m tn But sometimes it just presents with chest tightness or cough. If you have family history then your symptoms could be due to asthma. When in doubt have yourself evaluated for the same. This can be detected by a spirometry test. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.
Avatar f tn Did you have a pulmonary function test to see how your lungs are performing? You're on a fair dose of inhaler. The symptoms of asthma can be quite variable. You can have shortness of breath, coughing, chest tightness or wheezing all at once or if mildly symptomatic your only symptom might be some chest tightness or a cough. For me, I only make wheezing sounds when I'm in a rather bad state, where as most people would make wheezing sounds way sooner.
Avatar f tn As for the problem I keep getting sporadic chest tightness. Randomly throughout the day my chest will all of a sudden start feeling very heavy and my breathing will become harder along with a cough. I have been coughing up phlegm but it is more of a liquid. The tightness will last for around 10-15 minutes and then go away completely with little to no signs of it.
Avatar f tn Its a dull pain that lasts all day and sometimes randomly gets worse and becomes sharp. My chest sometimes feels very tight and its hard to breath. It hurts more when I inhale then exhale. I have a cough, its usually dry, short and unproductive. With this lung pain, my throat hurts too, but its not sore. It feels like something is stuck in it, like a pop-corn seed (I don't eat pop corn). This feeling worsens when I have a dry throat.
Avatar f tn I have this tightness in my chest i kno its mucus but i dont have a cough or cold it hurts when i try to take a deep breath ive never had chest congestion before im not coughing up blood or anything like that. ive been using my asthma pump because when i was younger i had trouble with asthma it helps clearing my airways so i can breath easier but it comes back after awhile. Help?
Avatar n tn My cough seems dry and unproductive for a day or two and then croupy with the production of yellow mucous. I had a routine chest Xray 3 monts ago that showed a "mass" consistent with scar tissue (that was not there in a previous test 4 yrs. ago). Additionally, I 've had a cough/sore throat on and off for about a year. The cough was never this severe or long lasting until now. Five weeks ago, Dr. gave me a Z-pk, 6days of Prednesone and Advair. Nothing helped.
Avatar f tn Week 1-sore throat, fatigue, weakness, couldn’t get out of bed, chest tightness, slight cough. Went to doctor and was diagnosed with mycoplasma pneumonia and was given doxycycline and steroids. Week 2-got so weak I ended up in the ER. They said it’s just part of the illness and to keep up with antibiotics. On week 2.5 I began vomiting but only a couple times.
Avatar f tn In the past I’ve had chest tightness that came anytime the seasons switched. I live in GA so that’s pretty much once or twice a year. In the past week after eating out it’s become unbearable nothing like the mild ones I experienced before where I went to the my primary care immediately but my chest X-ray was negative for anything as well as EKG. I also just went to the ER and received a breathing treatment which helped but didn’t completely solve my problem.
Avatar f tn In the past, if my chest begins to feel this way, it is followed by the painful cough and coughing stuff up. I would not call what I have sometimes as pain, it feels more like irritation. When I am active, as well as when I drink a lot of water, it seems to be much better. Sit in front of the tv and the next thing I know I have a glob sitting in my throat. Any information would be grately appreciated.
Avatar f tn however, in the past week, i have noticed a new sensation of tightening/constricting of my upper chest / trachea. I dont know if this is possible, but it doesnt feel like the same sensation i get from wheezing, however it is difficult to move air and has resulted in a dry annoying cough. There is also the constant sensation of having a tickle in the back of my throat. This also hasn't been resolved with the use of albuerol, which also leads me to believe that it is not my asthma acting up.
1014527 tn?1251057498 Things seems to have slightly improved for a small amount of time but I could never shake off this tightness of chest/tightness on full breathing. One concern was I had thick, yellow-dark yellow mucus for a few days straight at work(I work as a stocker overnight/around dust/etc.) and my temperature was fine. As well as this discomfort in my chest which is located about dead square middle of my breast cavity, sometimes in the ribcage/sternum with sensitivity touching below the sternum.
Avatar m tn I was given esomeprazole and other drugs but since then I have had chest pains in the left, shortage on breath , some cough though I had this before and tightness in the chest sometimes. What could this be?
Avatar n tn Immediatly began blowing up, dry mouth, tightness in chest....This is making working almost impossible for me and truly stressing me out. Prior to Dec.15th, I was healthy, perfect weight & always going to the gym or riding my bike. What is wrong with me? Beginning to think this will never go away.
Avatar n tn I have just started having chest tightness, and coughed 1 bb sized clear gel. I have had chest x-ray, pulmanary function test, stress test, EKG. all are negitive normal. I am concerned as the chest tightness/pain, shortness of breath is not going away, and some times seems worse. Every thing I find on internet seems all the same with no answer from DR. I have not smoked for 19 1/2 years and smoked for 20. Have you found anything else out?
1411209 tn?1315226051 Athsma has many symptoms some of which are coughing, wheezing, tightness of the chest, shortness of breath when walking or exercise. You say you are ill due to cough problems, is that chest infections or just bouts of coughing spasms ? If you find you are having breathing problems always see your G.P who can monitor any symptoms you are having.
Avatar m tn Hello, So I went to the doctor cause I thought I was getting pneumonia and the Doc had me do a PFT (which was low at 70 percent) and a blood O2 test (94 percent) and said that I had bronchitis and put me on some prednisone and a z-pack. After I finshed my meds I still felt the same. So I set up another appointment and right before I went in I started to feel better but my tests only showed I improved ten percent.
Avatar n tn I was a smoker some 20 years ago, Iam 54, I recently had a sinus operation and in the convalescence I picked up the pharyngitis virus, as a result of my recovery I developed a cough and tightness in my chest and they made the diagnosis. They say that the present weather conditions of very cold have affected me and brought my problem to the surface. Will I recover when the weather gets warmer and will I resume my normal life?
Avatar m tn I recently had a CT scan that showed an extensive infiltration of tree in bud nodules, and I have had a dry, unproductive cough that continually worsens for over six months. Now, the cough is so bad, it's exhaustion I'm battling. I wake up tired, and stay that way throughout the day. I have blood spots that have appeared on my breasts, and I'm getting severe cramps in my body and head. Anybody with the same thing?
Avatar n tn ) After approaching 30 days, the cough is much less frequent and chest tightness is relieved somehwhat- but not gone. Occasionally feels like I have just a "catch" in my throat. No other symptoms. I don't feel any stuffiness- perhaps a bit in the morning, but I haven't/don't feel sick and I remain in otherwise excellent health.
Avatar n tn As suggested above your symptoms could be due to Asthma. Cough, chest tightness and breathlessness t are the triad of symptoms for Asthma. It is a disease affecting the lungs causing narrowing of the airways, usually due to an allergic reaction to triggering factors. Therapy is with bronchodilators which cause the airways to dilate.
