Prilosec has helped, but when the aches subside, i get a temporary tight congested feeling on the right hand side of my chest, then I go into an anxiety attack, thinking I can't breathe. Anybody else experiencing this?
I then began feeling the usual chest tightness and restriction I feel most days. Located centrally around the sternum, lft/right side of sternum and upper chest, below base of throat.; I have been made aware of a tingling 'nerve' like pain somewhere around my left shoulder/arm pit, which radiates down my arm to my middle two fingers!? When I massage the area and my arm, I can not locate the nerve to releave it.
I am 7 weeks pregnant with my first child and I have this uneasy feeling in my chest. right at my breastbone. It's like a tightness. I looked it up and I guess it might be heartburn? But I have it all the time. Anyone else have that feeling?
I have tightness occasionally too but it doesn't sound quite the same, positions don't change it. I get it right in the middle of my chest, right below my sternum and it is an intense tightening that feels like my skin is being pulled really tight--I hope that makes sense to you! Anyway, thanks for listening and thanks for replying, this forum really has been of great comfort to me in such a weird time. Good luck, I hope you get your chest issues resolved quickly!!
I am in the army and ive been going to the doctors and they tell me nothing is wrong with me. When I run not even a mile, the right side upper part of my chest feel like a cramp, it comes on slowly and doesn't stop until i stop running for 20+ mins. the only way i can describe it is; a heaviness, feel like i cant get any air into my right lung at first, if i keep running it feels like im gonna die, a real tightness in my chest, and dizziness.
It is tight from the center of my chest and extends to the very left side of my breast. Sometimes I even have the tightness in my arm pit and through my left arm. I have seen a doctor for this but because they were concerned about my heart first and foremost once they found out that was fine they gave me no more advice or help. It's definitely not a heart issue. I cannot pin point any lifestyle factors that may contribute.
Hello, A few days ago I was drinking a 5 calorie powerdered juice drink mix for the fists time and as soon as I had finished my drink I have been feeling a tightness in the right side of my chests and in my throat. This gets worse when I try to swallow. I feel like there is something stuck in my throat and not going down as well as a pull on the right side of my chests. I am able to breath fine and have been eating and drinking alot of water and juice as well.
I have been experiencing a tightness in my left side of the chest for over a week now. About a week ago I began having acute episodes several times a day. These acute episodes include feeling short of breath, like someone is choking me. I feel sick to my stomach, and dizzy. They usually last 30 min to one hour. I've had several visits to my dr and er and they seem to think it's anxiety, but I don't really have any stress in my life right now. What could this be?
i have a question, i have been having a tightness in my chest for the last week and a half. What I have been feeling can be described as this: diffuculty breathing or just hard to catch my breathe ( especially when sitting up or standing, easier to breathe when lying down) When i first noticed this it was very very mild, but i it got worse after being around cigar smoke. I went to the doctor last wednesday, just to make sure i didn't have phemonia or nothing like that.
I do have a funny feeling in the my throat on the right side like something is in it....it kinda feels like my tonsil is hanging half way down my throat or something. I have been on Dulera for a week now and still have the same tight feeling in my upper airway and chest....I'm scared to death. I do have an appointment with an Asthma/Allergy specialist this week. HELP!!!! What in the world could be causing this tightness in my throat and chest?
The problem I now have is.... I feel a tightness or heavy weight in my chest. right in the middle of the Sternum. Like somebody is stepping on it and wont get off. Its worse when I'm up and walking. Is it because I'm no longer on the HCT? Is the Metoprolol Tartrate doing this? I never felt this at all on the Metoprolol Succinate. Is my body just adjusting to the new med and/or lack of the HCT??? Am I having a heart attack?
I am having weird sensations on the left side of my chest, but they are so faint I'm not sure what I'm feeling. It's almost like a real faint muscle spasm, that's the best way to describe it. I am trying not to lose control here, but of course I am worried. I have been having increased amounts of anxiety of the past few weeks. I go to bed w/it on my mind and wake up the same way. I just came from my doctor's office for a follow up visit of sorts.
tall and currently weight about 130lbs. For the past 3-4yrs I have been having tightness in my chest (on the left side, in the region surrounding the heart). It seems to come on randomly, and seems to be present very often during the day - I notice it more when I am sitting (especially when I hunch). And there are some days when I don't seem to detect it (it is probably there, but I don't notice it). This has been going on for over 3yrs now and needless to say it has made me quite anxious.
I am hoping for some reassurance. I have been having chest tightness, stomach complaints since early summer. No specific reason brought this on. Multiple providers along with blood work, diagnostic testing and even an upper endoscope last week all have come back negative except for a small sliding hiatal hernia with mild reflux. All the physicians feel that it could be anxiety/panic, but I cannot get out of my mind the physical symptoms I feel.
Micheal, I got the butterfly feeling in my chest, it follow with few beats, big dumps and tightness. My tightness in the chest can last half a day long. I discovered it could be a LBBB. Just my discovery. As everyone has LBBB is being told it is harmful and the Drs "Don'T CARE". I learn to live with it. Have a run, power walk or strong coffee. You may have luck!
I was given three-day dosage of doxycycline and methergine for post abortion and also a new prescription of Loestrin 24 Fe, which my doctor has told me to begin one day after my abortion. I've been experiencing tightness in chest and slight difficulty in breathing when I began to take Loestrin 24 Fe. I called in the doctor's office to see the cause of it, and the nurse told me to stop taking methergine since I was only 6 weeks pregnant at the time of abortion.
I have had for the past 8 mths a constant 24/7 no breaks whatsoever, burning, tightness in my chest on the left side, the burning is so intense, also I feel my heart beating hard not fast every waking moment, heartbeat is normal about 60 to 70 bpm. and almost like its vibrating (i know this sounds wierd) all the time, also feels hard to breath at times almost a choking feeling, had several ekgs in the past, blood work in April a ct scan (pulmonary) in March a echo and nuc.
I'm 32 and through the years I always had a right chest side tightness but recently it's getting worse. It is located along the right side of my sternum and up to my right neck inner side and I 'm not feeling well since the last 2 days: I have low grade fever, tiredness, headache. I did RFT, LFT,CBC, ESR, CRP,ASO, Ca, phosphate, chest Xray every thing was normal except for total WBC 3.6 / HCT 35 / ALT 4 and the chest xray had prominent vessels the radiologist said it's normal.
Up the front of my neck from upper chest on left side there is a great amount of tightness and like stretching feeling with pain and a pressure feeling around my heart and goes up my throat and in and behind my left eye it's a feeling that don't go away it's been like this for a year or so and i've had several tests...
-Hard to swallow -tightness in airway making it harder to breath (I can feel the tightness) -Face feels a little numb around cheeks -Slight chest pain on right side -Higher heart rate -often dizzy -Ears feel like they are about to pop -headaches usually on the sides and back of my head -some random positions (usually on the back) help relieve the tightness and seem to be releasing and draining a air, gas, or a liquid from the areas and making me feel normal again.

Also there is a feeling of tightness or heaviness in the left side of my chest. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of it or tried it? I hate this chest tightness and heaviness we get from anxiety. I just want to ripe right out.
Soon after pain, I started to feel tightness in my chest. It is difficult to explain the tightness. It is not tightness caused by congestion. If feels like my chest is heavy or the muscles are laboring more to suck air into my lungs. Today the pain in the back feels more like a burning sensation. It also seems like my face is a little swollen. Any thoughts and help will be appreciated...
And ever since i went to the emergency room ive been feeling like chest tightness and tingling and it runs into my left arm along with alittle pressure it feels on my throat. Also sometimes my left arm feels achey. I went to have a follow up a week ago and the doctor said my left shoulder was very tense and she said its my back shoulder muscle that is giving me the trouble and she put me on 500mg naproxin.
During conversations I need to takes breathes more often than I think I should. Lastly, I've been feeling this tightness in my chest. Kind of like a sandbag sitting on my chest all day. The doctor has given me an Albuterol inhalor, and a some anti-biotics, thinking I may have a lower respitory infection. I hate going to the doctor and having him try this, and then try that. Do you think that it may in fact be Asthma or could it still be an infection?
I am currently on my 6th day of antibiotics and for the past few days have been experiencing chest tightness and asthma like symptoms (I was asthmatic as a child and experience symptoms rarely now). I do not have any yellow/green phlegm and each day my coughs seem more productive but havent really produced any clearing of the lungs.
