Common Questions and Answers about Chest tightness icd 9

chest

Avatar f tn Three weeks into the meds, I began having chest tightness and shortness of breath. I went to my cardiologist, and the ecg was normal. He suggested ibuprofen for swelling in case I had inflamed chest wall that was causing the symptoms. Two days later, the tightness was still there so I saw my FP. He took a chest x-ray, which showed nothing. He sent me to a pulmonologist who did a CT scan. This came back negative for a blood clot, and she could not identify any problems from it.
Avatar m tn Never smoked but grew up in a family that smoked heavy. I am currently overwieght about 80 lbs. No swelling, no tightness of chest, no shortness of breath. Cath showed that I have no blockages of any kind. I am currently on Coreg and Prinivil, tricor, lipitor, baby asprin. Know I am on a heart monitor for thirty days and on a portable difibulator for two months until they decide wheather I need a pacemaker/difibulator.
Avatar f tn Oh I have had anixety and OCD for 9 yrs, it usually manifast differently. Anyways, so I started to panic that I was having a server reaction. Ever since that day my chest feel thight like I dont have enough air or like I cant take a deep enough breath. I went to the Doc the day after the shot they did chest x-ray, blood work, and spirometer thing. All came back ok :) So anyways I am still having this issue.
Avatar f tn Mine is in my abdomen and have never had any problems. Did he say if the problem is with the ICD itself or the leads ? Some ICD`s in the past have been recalled and many people have had problems with the leads. you may want to try icdsupportgroup.org they have a lot of knowledge when it comes to ICD questions.
Avatar m tn A few days ago I had my ICD turned off. Have had it in place for four years and have hated every second. Am now looking into having the control unit removed. Does anyone know how difficult this is to have done. My Dr. does not want me to have it removed and even wants me to turn it back on. It has gone off once, bit my tongue almost off and broke a tooth. Enough already.
3246377 tn?1347519440 I've had an ICD for a couple of years, and yes there is a scar about 3 inches long, on my left chest, and the ICD sits just under the skin. It's about the size of a flip phone, and because I'm real thin, it does stick up about 1/2 inch. I've never been shocked, but I've heard it's like being kicked by a mule. However, after it was installed and set especially for me, my EF went from 15% to above 40%, and my heart paces on it's own about 99.
Avatar f tn I had an ICD put in 1 1/2 years ago, I'm still experiencing pain and tenderness in my chest and simple task such as folding clothes causes a lot of strain and pressure on my left arm. I was told at the device check clinic that this is normal. I was wondering if anyone else with an ICD has these issues?
Avatar f tn Hi, some of the specialized institutions are implanting this ICD device. The new ICD it's called a subcutaneous (under the skin) ICD – or SICD for short. An SICD works in the same way as an ICD, but it's inserted just under the skin of the chest (outside of the ribcage) and there are no leads placed into the heart. Complications are likely to be less as it is easily accessible and it can prevent complications such as wire-related injuries.
Avatar n tn His attitude was if I break he will fix it (and get flat lined twice to test the ICD). I got into 3 physical altercations my last year and I felt the ICD rip in my chest each time. Hurt like hell. I eventually retired after 27 years because of this and a fused spine (no desk jobs). So can police work the streets with these things?
Avatar m tn 1. While and ICD implant is a procedure, it is not really surgery. And ICD is typically placed on one day and pt goes home the next. Usually no anesthesia is needed. Risk is very minimal. 2. If your ejection fraction is low, the ICD will serve as an "insurance policy"--ie hopefully you'll never need it but you'd be sure glad you had it if your heart "tried to die" on you 3.
Avatar f tn I am a 25 year old woman who hs CHF, cardiomyopathy and an ICD. I want to concieve, but I am reading things that tell me that I should not. I am having a hard time with this, as I am newly married and we want to start a family and this would be my first pregnancy. I was diagnosed a year and a half ago and I am stable and on meds. Could our dream ever become or reality?
Avatar m tn I had a ICD put in my left chest on 1/16/09. I still feels pain, soar, and mumb on my left side. I cant used my left hand too much because of the pain. Any suggestion ???? Thanks.
3072999 tn?1356414732 Hi Tink, I am actually a medical coder for a hospital -the ICD-10 code would be G93.5. The ICD-9 code is 384.4. Since ICD-9 is not very specific they may have put a I after to show it is a Chiari Malformation type 1. In ICD-10 it is more specific - G93.5 states Chiari Malformation 1. So I am assuming since the ICD-9 code of 384.4 just states compression of brain they had to add a 1 so it was more specific for their notes.
2044839 tn?1331255841 If you have normal oxygen level and still experiencing chest tightness and shortness of breath what could this be..oxygen level at 98..
Avatar f tn I totally understand. Are you being treated for the panic disorder? If you aren't, I would strongly recommend getting into some therapy (CBT) to find the root cause of your panic. Once you've identified that, your therapist can give you a great deal of knowledge to understand why you suffer from it and tools to help you overcome it. Your therapist can teach you various breathing exercises to help when you get that suffocating feeling. They work.
Avatar m tn t eat much and not sleeping well, reason why was that i was worried about pain that was in my testicle but found out that is was a epidyimal cyst and that it was nothing to worry about. Now i am back to my routine and seem to be having some chest tightness. I am wondering if it was from all the stress i was putting myself under or is it probably from my ablation and it is just healing? Idk I go see the doctor who performed my ablation on friday.

Avatar n tn I am a 29 year old who has been having chest tightness for about 3 days with a headache that comes and goes. I went to an urgent care for them to tell me nothing except that my vital signs are healthy, take no xrays, take no blood, etc. They prescribed me an inhaler thinking that it was an allegarine asthma. IT hasn't helped so far. When I work out, it doesn't bother me anymore. I am not short of breath; however, to take a deep breath takes a little more effort.
Avatar n tn It has been always five weeks since I was discharged from hospital now and since then I have developed chest tightness in the central region each time I take a deep breath. I also notice that I now feel tire easily and can't do any strenous work as my chest area feel kind of tight and tender. The latest x-ray results (two days ago) showed nothing and the nurse told me that my lungs are all clear. But right now as I write, I feel something not normal with my chest as it feels tight.
245504 tn?1224099316 I have had anxiety/panic attacks for at least 12 years. I am in one of my anxious kicks (hypochondriac) lately and am experiencing a "new" symptom of intermittent chest tightness on the upper left side of my chest (almost near shoulder). It just comes and goes and it is just a tight sensation. I have read this could be anxiety and am wondering if anyone else experiences this. FYI I recently had a echo done that was all good and holter monitor showing Sinus Rhythm/Sinus Tach.
Avatar f tn Hi I am wondering if any of you have experienced chest tightness, or funny feeling in the pit of your stomach associated with withdrawals. I am on day 6 of a massive decrease in dose (i'm tapering). At about the same time everyday (before I would take the norco) I feel a tightening in my chest. My pulse and blood pressure are fine??? Is this common for withdrawal? What can I do to make it better? I'm trying not to take any ativan for it. Thank you any support will help.
