Chest tightness hypothyroid

Common Questions and Answers about Chest tightness hypothyroid

chest

It's been almost 2 weeks, my voice has gotten better but is far from normal. However, I still feel my heart racing, shortness of breath and tightness of chest. To the point where at times I feel I can't breath much less talk. Does this sound like the normal process until they find the right dose for my medication? Will these symptoms go away and my voice come back once I'm on the right dose of Synthoid? Any information or advise is greatly appreciated!!
I'm facing a problem with shortness of breath and tightness of chest. Like a few mentioned in the forum i have to yawn several times before i can fill t deficit of the air to breathe and if i concentrate on it, i loose the breath. I have to yawn several times before i can take a deep breath which i require to, every few seconds. It was'nt this chronic earlier and ive been facing this for over 5 years.
) Last October I began having heart palpitations -not super fast (120 beats/min at most) but pounding with shortness of breath, chest tightness, and fatigue. I ran a quick EKG on myself (I'm a Paramedic) and it looked normal, so I just "toughed it out" until last Feb (thinking maybe I was perimenopausal because the periods hadn't had their usual regularity either).
My 3 children have been diagnosed as Hasimoto's hypothyroid. As I was feeling very tired, gaining weight etc I got myself checked out and I was borderline so my doctor put me on 50 mcg of synthroid. After about 3 weeks of taking it I become quite anxious, had stomach pains, tightness in the chest and weight loss. I did not attribute this reaction to the medication until, after nearly 3 months of taking it, I lost the medication for one week and started to feel better.
The problem is I am still suffering from muscle aches and tightness. Mostly in my legs, back, and arms. My jaw aches (probably from stress of this whole thing). I went to a Neuro and had a complete workup including spinal and brain MRI. Neurologist said that nothing showed anything indicative of neurological illness. My question is..is it possible for me to be feeling this way with a TSH in the ranges I stated above? I also had a cold and sinus infection.
I also struggle with dizziness and faintness! I am not sure if it is a symptom of hypothyroid but I also have allergies. I have never had dizziness or feelings of passing out with allergies. I have had allergies all my life and these have not been a symptoms. Head pressure is an allergy symptom. I am 27 and have had hypothyroid for 8 years of my life and I have been dizzy all 8 years! So I am not positive it is a symptom but through process of elimination it seems likely!
Right now the neck is too tight, I have keep taking Advil which is not good to relieve this tightness. I feel like no doctor cares to help and that I'm the only person in the area with this problem. It all started around the time I was experiencing symptoms of mono before I was diagnosed. I see another endo in November. What else can I ask for to see if this problem can be solved (aside from having the thyroid removed). I'm at my wit's end! Thank you for any help!
I suffer from chf-cardiomyopathy recently I had some tests done including an xray that they compared to one from a year ago ( the reason was for chest pain and tightness)compared to the older xray which read normal the recent xray said borderline normal and my doctor said there was no significant change. When they say significant change it seems in my mind there was some change but not a "red flag".
) By now I was feeling much better but my doctor wanted to up my throyxine to 125mcg as she said my TSH needed to be below 1 and my T4 above 18. After 2 weeks on this higher level I went back to doctors with chest tightness and discomfort so another GP reduced my throyxine back to 100mcg. My concern is that initially after a few days the chest problems disappeared but now about 6 weeks later they seem to have returned although not as bad.
I also continue to have chest pain. It started on just on the left side of my chest, and was usually sharp in nature. Now I can get it on my right side, between my shoulder blades in my back, in the middle of my chest or wherever. Last night I woke up at 2a.m. with pain on the left side of my ribs, kind of right beneath my left breast, towards the side. I am very worried that something is really wrong with my heart. Do these sound like cardiac pains?
Blood volume levels were fine - no sign of narrowing of arteries but I did experience problems on the treadmill - fatigue (expected) tightness in chest, chest discomfort, discomfort between shoulderblades. All of these were about 6 on a scale of 1-10. BP afterwards was 170/90 then 164/97 then went to 135/88. I felt these symptoms for about 15 minutes after the test ended.
I definitely have panic attacks (periods of racing heartbeat, shortness of breath, tightness in my chest, nausea, etc) but I also have a strange feeling in my chest 95% of the day. It feels sort of hollow all the time, and every two minutes or so I will have a feeling like a "drop" or almost like a shock in my chest. I have had PVCs (all the time) for at least 5 years, and it almost feels like a more severe one of these.
For a few years now, I've been getting a red blotchy chest/neck rash in circumstances where I - am drinking alcohol, anxious, nervous, excited, upset - really feeling just about any emotion. It's gotten to the point where I do not expose my chest/neck ever - and cover up whenever I can. I had read once that taking Niacinimide could help - and I've been taking about 1000mg of it for a few months, but am not seeing much improvement.
My girlfriend was told yesterday that she might have "hypothyroid" b/c her TSH level was a 4.5. She also got the autoimmune test done which she does NOT have. From what I have read online I am having a hard time figuring out if she really hast this condition. Since I have known her she has had the opposite of fatigue (lots of energy). Except for recently b/c she started taking warfarin (a blood thinner) due to a blood clot she aquired after a surgery.
I've had this symptom (tightness in the chest that radiates outward, tightness in the jaw that radiates downward along throat and then chest) for a few years now. When it first happened, I went to see a cardio and had a workup that included ekg, stress test, blood works. Everything was normal. Im 48W. The attacks don't happen often. Only a few times a year. But it is scary. And the instant I drink water (room temp or cold) it goes away immediately. I have chucked it to dehydration.
I am a 29 year old female, relatively healthy. I have Hashimoto's/hypothyroid which is controlled by Synthroid. I started having tightness on the top of my head the other day and now it won't go away. I woke up with terrible pain in my face and jaw and went to the dentist, thinking absess...it wasn't. I do have a sinus infection and ear infection but I have been having the weirdest symptoms.
I can not believe how the (terrible) side effects are so similiar to the hypothyroid syptoms in the first place - itching, tightness in the chest, joint pain, leg cramps, hair loss, unusual hoarseness, unusual weight gain, trouble sleeping, abdominal cramps, constipation etc etc. I could go on and on but that is sufficient. How can I get off of this stuff?? cold turkey?? A.J.B.
stil hoping this is not cardiac...........btw i am also hypothyroid w\goiter(whichi feel tightness in neck sometimes) since giving birth also so i am on 12.5 synthroid once a week.........
i get trembling in my inner body quite frequently but not on the outside, and i also get a vibrating feeling in the left hand side of my chest, stomach also my left thigh, this feeling resembles a phone vibrating, got any reason why this could be happening, thankx julzz66
This question is odd to me. I just posted RAI acid question just below. I have yet to really get a cold since the RAI. Almost worrisome to me since I work in education with children. As I stated though constant chest and throat tightness and huge acid.
Hello, I had surgery one week ago and I feel a tightness across my throat tonight. Pretty uncomfortable, I feel like it is just due to the healing of the tissues but would love some reassurance that this feeling is normal and will go away with some time. I had path results that showed two areas of papillary carcinoma so I also get to look forward to radioiodine treatment. I am not taking any meds right now and am already experiencing insomnia along with other hypothyroid symptoms.
I know it is the synthroid because right after I take it I begin itching and stinging, and now some chest tightness.. Tried Armour and am having the same problem. Could it be an inactive ingredient in the meds? And, if so, what other options do I have? I have looked up all the medications available for hypothyroid and they all seem to contain the same inactive ingredients. Getting pretty scared at this point. Dr.
I do not have any known heart problems but I have been having pain, tightness, tingling in my chest, left arm and sternum. I have also been feeling "flutters". I am hypothyroid with hashimoto's thyroiditis and I don't know if the flutters are thyroid related or not. Drs have run tests to rule out gallbladder, ulcer, hiatal hernia...they don't know what's causing the pain. Could it be stress related? It just doesn't go away...I have ativan...is it safe to take?

Can be related to the Gastroparesis since it involves the vagus nerve. 2.What other things besides diabetes and hypothyroid can cause Gastroparesis? 3.If it is damage to vagal nerve what can be done to correct it?
I was on Levoyxl for about 8 months and it made me ill by causing hypertension, insomnia, shaking, etc. Now I'm on Armour and feel beeter but it causes chest tightness, a strange feeling in my eyes, and I swear sleep apnea. Has anyone else experienced these, and if I'm allergic to Armour and can't take Levoyxl, what else is there?
