does anybody get really bad chest tightness and pain???? i get this really bad tightness i have to take my bra off i feel so much tightness i just feel my heart s going to just stop from the tightness, i get chest pains that last up to a week anyone with the same symptom???

I totally understand. Are you being treated for the panic disorder? If you aren't, I would strongly recommend getting into some therapy (CBT) to find the root cause of your panic. Once you've identified that, your therapist can give you a great deal of knowledge to understand why you suffer from it and tools to help you overcome it. Your therapist can teach you various breathing exercises to help when you get that suffocating feeling. They work.

I have had anxiety/panic attacks for at least 12 years. I am in one of my anxious kicks (hypochondriac) lately and am experiencing a "new" symptom of intermittent chest tightness on the upper left side of my chest (almost near shoulder). It just comes and goes and it is just a tight sensation. I have read this could be anxiety and am wondering if anyone else experiences this. FYI I recently had a echo done that was all good and holter monitor showing Sinus Rhythm/Sinus Tach.

I agree with Vickie, see you doctor if it persists. I get the chest tightness with anxiety and stress; especially stress. At work I had a period of long overtime under heavy mental stress. When I complained to my doctor about chest tightness he immediately sent me to a Cardio guy. I passed the treadmill test and was told it's stress.

Hi I am wondering if any of you have experienced chest tightness, or funny feeling in the pit of your stomach associated with withdrawals. I am on day 6 of a massive decrease in dose (i'm tapering). At about the same time everyday (before I would take the norco) I feel a tightening in my chest. My pulse and blood pressure are fine??? Is this common for withdrawal? s been 6 weeks since his last cig. He has had horrible withdrawal symptoms. Chest pain, tightness in chest, irregular heartbeats, dizziness, numbness in arm and the list goes on. The chest tightness could be anxiety. I know when I am anxious my chest feels heavy. The depression can also cause that. I would speak with your doctor, if you have anxiety, I would think a stimulant drug would make it worse. Also, I don't know how old you are, but it might be chest pain from cardiac disease, but more likely anxiety.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had respiratory issues from the Hep B shot. I had the shot 17 days ago and shortly after I felt dizzy with a headache and short of breath. Oh I have had anixety and OCD for 9 yrs, it usually manifast differently. Anyways, so I started to panic that I was having a server reaction. Ever since that day my chest feel thight like I dont have enough air or like I cant take a deep enough breath.

I got into a bad relationship that caused me chronic stress and one day I woke up with a form of tightness in my chest and since then it has never gone....doesn't get better, doesn't get worst....its there all the time, because of my serious health anxiety I think I'm about to drop dead everyday....2yrs later, 2 ecg's, 2 x-rays and I'm still alive! Both a feeling of throat fullness/constriction and chest tightness can be symptoms of anxiety. The trauma from the FNA, could easily have caused anxiety, even if you don't actually "feel" anxious; however, with those symptoms, anxiety seems likely.

Due to your age I truly don't think the chest tightness is anymore than anxiety. But any new symptom needs to be checked out by your doctor, we never want to assume anything new is anxiety. Many people with anxiety suffer from chest tightness, and yes new symptoms come out of nowhere all the time. I truly think this is anxiety, but run it by your doctor.....if just for your peace of mind. We're here for you.

I was put on a beta blocker in 2006 for HTN and increased palpitations. I haven't been dx with hashi just yet, may find out today. I'm on Toporol XL (Metoprolol XL) and it works for me. I think I could have been having sx of hashi in 2006 with a TSH of 4.7 and HTN, but PCP only treated me for HTN. Go figure.

Hi, I have been experiencing some problems that have sent me into server depression and I desperately need help. 13 months ago I started getting chest tightness, numb breasts, 24/7 pins and needles in the left arm with pain, chronic neck tightness. I have been to a&e (ER) and they did 2 x ECK, 3 X chest x-rays, 3 X blood tests and nothing, because I am only 21 my doctor has refused me more tests. I am in despair at the moment as no-one will help me.
